I never thought I would be posting over here after 3 years of TMT but here I am.

I am due for my first scan on Tuesday and I am so scared. I have just spent the last week in hospital with 'Hypo Emmesis' Severe dehydration and sickness in early pregnancy but now I don't feel sick at all. I this normal or something to worry about? Have some of you not had sickness at all? I am absolutly paranoid that I have lost them before I have even had a chance to see their heart beats at least.
Also my doctor doesn't do an HCG test at all as they say it makes no difference not even for my piece of mind. How horried is that!
Any advice about the sickness thing??

Love Dagny x

Hi Dagny,
welcome to this side - wierd finally being here! I've just recently 'come over'.
Poor you having to go into hospital! I was worried that was where Nikola was going to be headed after her msg on Wed! Have you been given anything for your sickness or has it just settled on its own?
I was feeling really sick the past 2 weeks but have now developed heartburn as well! One kind of rolls into the other!!!
The symptoms can change quite radically so I've been told so trey not to worry too much. And look forward to hearing good news from you on Tues after your scan.
Di
8wks 3 days
Hi Dagny

Welcome to this side, its such a pleasure to see another positive and I just want to say congratulations!!. The sickness can come and go I was having on and off for about 17 weeks the first 12 weeks was the worst but it does calm down and hoping your ok today. If your not being/feeling sick then it's heartburn well it is for me and that's horrible. I had it yesterday while I was at work and it was horrible and that was making me feel sick.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Love
Shell.
26wks 2d pg
xx
Hey Dagny

How are you doing? How is the sickness?

Mine is as bad as ever. I started to dehydrate last week because I couldn't drink water without being sick, but I seem to have found a way round it by adding a touch of fruit juice to the water (just so the water changes colour) this seems to help keep the water down. So I now have different coloured water - orange/cranberry & orange/pineapple/mango, all come recommended. Dh makes me smoothies all the time too, he is worried I'm not eating enough fruit & veg, well he is worried I'm not eating enough full stop! although to see the size of me, I look about 7 months not 7 weeks!!

I hope you are feeling much better and managing to take things easy. You'll feel much better once you have the scan out of the way on Tuesday...the wait is pure hell isn't it! I'll be thinking of you, let me know it goes ok.

love nikola.xxxx
Hi Nikola

I am beside myself with worry. I have had absolutly no sickness since leaving hospital. I read in a book that if you have had sickness and then it stops suddenly that you should seek medical advice. I have spoken to one my fertility team and they told me to calm down, yeah right! I am not off any food at all and not peeing like a race horse and don't feel PG. I can't drink water at all as it is so tasteless so I always have weak juice or flavoured water.

I am so scared Nikola. My DH doesn't know how to comfort me and I am really loosing the plot.

I took it as read that we would definately see a heart beat tomorrow and now I have been told it may not be the case. It may take another week of two to see that aswell. OMG another 2ww!!

Sorry for ranting but I am going mad with worry. I wish I was feeling like you - I was last week which was awful. We just can't win can we?

You keep on sipping and eating what you can and let me know how you go. Lots of love Dagny xx

hi girls
dagny you poor thing!!! you must be going mad. i am not yet at yours and nikolas stage, i am only 5 weeks and 3 days. the only symptoms iam getting is tiredness and the odd queasy bout and a touch of heartburn. some days i even ask myself should i do another pregnant test??? then i look in the mirror and think if your not pregnant girl, you badly need a good makeover... oh yeah also hungry all the time DH keeps laughing at me!!!!
i hope for your peace of mind that you do get to see a heartbeat tomorrow, post as early as you can, i will have fingers and legs{thanks to nikola} crossed for you.
can any of you girls tell me when and does this bloated look go away? or should i just put away my clothes now and start to buy some bits?
talk soon love jackie xxx
Dagny

I had a bit of quesyness (or however you spell it!) at week 7, and then not a sausage until week 10 when it came in full force until week 16! I know that nothing will be of comfort to you until you have your scan, but try not to analyse anything. Remind yourself how much analysing you will have done on your 2ww - symptoms or no symptoms - it means nothing at all. Youve had a positive result. I know that when you read about other peoples sad experiences it makes you feel anxious but you have to remind yourself of all the girls who have healthy trouble free pregnancies - and they're in the majority.

Good luck!

Jackie - the bloatedness doesn't go - it just turns into bump! Just buy a few essential bits for the moment with a bit of stretch. Dorothy Perkins have got some nice bits.

Love

Rachel
x
Oh Dagny

I really really feel for you, waiting for the scan is pure hell (ten times worse than 2ww!) I'm sure everything will be ok when you go tomorrow. Post and let me know, cos you've got me worrying now too!!

Try and get a good nights sleep and tomorrow you'll feel so much better, if for no other reason than you'll have 'A' scan, even if you don't detect a heartbeat because its too early at least you'll have people to talk to and professional advice. Try not to worry though - one thing I do know is that won't do you or the bab(ies) any good!!

Thinking of you tomorrow.
love nikola.xx

ps Jackie - I've given up on fitting back into my size 10-12 clothes, they have been firmly packed away for another life!! I've invested in some new jeans - per una M&S do some cheap ones £25 and stretchy! The rest of the time I'm in trackie bottoms, v.comfy!!
Dagny

I just wanted to say I'm thinking of you today, when you go for your scan. Let me know how you get on. I'm sure you'll feel relieved to get it out of the way!

Fingers crossed all goes ok.
love nikola.xxxx
