Hi Everyone,
Squeezan, thanks so much for the update list. It looks great!
I want to wish everyone on the 2WW best of luck & good luck also to Kelly on the ER Saturday. I'm still doing fine. They decreased my follistim to 350units yesterday & I went back in for more labs today. I've got a big hematoma on my hand now, probably because I'm also on baby aspirin. Oh well, that's not a big problem. Hopefully I wont have to go back for labs until at least Saturday to give my veins a chance to rest.

2ndtimer: yeah, i hope as well that you don't need to go back for another blood draw, i'll keep my fingers crossed. i had one yesterday and my arm looks horrible, not sure what happened.

kelly: good luck on your ER on saturday.

Here hoping that you get a BFP on your next attempt. Adoption is still a great way to build your family. We have actually chosen adoption over IVF 2 years ago but are still waiting. We are getting sick and tired of that wait so that is why we are now trying IVF. It is a whole new world to learn about.
...and oh ya, the agencies do not know we are doing this.

Beaner: sorry to hear that you are still waiting for your baby. are you trying international adoption or domestic? i am here in the US and are looking into domestic adoption or adoption from the ukraine; my husband is already 46 so we are limited in terms of countries and as we are both getting older there are only a handful of countries left if you want a toddler. we have a two day workshop next month and after that we have to do our homestudy, so there is still a lot of work ahead of us, but if ivf would work out next time, we would probably drop the adoption process even though sometimes i think it would be great to provide a loving home to one of the many children that need it; it's just sooo expensive. good luck with your next cycle in jan. perhaps we can go through it together.

Hi Everyone,
I just got back from u/s & I've now got about 15 good size follicles! Not bad for day 6 of stims & for an old lady like me. I'm starting to feel it in my lower abdomen & I've also been really sleepy.
Pumma & Beaner, I also very strongly considered adoption & most likely would have gone that route but the wait times for China adoption went up over 2 years. I decided I just didn't want to wait that long and plus, my DH was still very nervous about it(but willing to go along because that's what I wanted.) We were actually filling out the paperwork & I asked him to just finally tell me what he really wanted, even if he thought it was selfish. That's when he broke down & told me he wanted to try IVF again, he just didnt' want me to have to go through it if I wasn't sure. Well, bottom line I just want to be a mom so here we are again.
I guess things just work out the way they are supposed to, not the way we plan in our own minds. This whole journey has made me much more philosophical.
Hope everyone's well & happy,
2ndtimer :)

2nd timer: great, great, great, i am so happy for your little follies. your ER is tomorrow, right? good luck, i'll be thinking about you and you are not that old :) , because then i would be old too. have you ever looked at pictures from your aunts when they were our age. i have some aunts that look better now then when they were in their late 30s. sometimes i feel like i just turned 20, but then i look at people my age and think, wow, they look old, and i wonder whether they think the same about me. isn't that funny. anyway, good luck tomorrow and keep us posted.

hello to everyone else.

I probably wont' have ER until next week. I think they like to give the stim meds for 10 days. So I'll be pretty plump by then.
I know what you mean about age. I also feel somewhere in my early 20's most of the time. It's kind of shocking to think about being 39, it used to sound so old. Truthfully, I also look younger than I am too. I never smoked & I use sun screen, so that makes a difference. But reproductively we've all got limited shelf lives so I'm very happy to be responding well to this cycle so far.
Sometimes I look at the other women in the MD office & think, "wow, there sure are a bunch of old women in here wanting to have babies." Then I think, these women are my age or younger & the jokes on me because they are probably thinking the same thing about me!
It helps to have a sense of humor about getting older!

2ndtimer: yeah, i feel the same way about some of the ladies in my practice as well. have a good weekend and i hope the follies are not bothering me too much. i think i had 16 good ones last time, which was a lot and i did have overstimulation syndrom, is that what it's called???, so drink a lot of electrolytes, Gaterade, that's what they told me, it helps. good luck.

Congrats Beachbaby!!!!!!
That's wonderful news!!! I wonder if you're having twins? Keep us posted.

I'm one day 8 of stims now. At last count I had around 20 follicles I think. My last estrogen level today was 3491. They stopped my follistim today, 2 days early. I'm not sure what this means. I hope everything is OK. I go in again tom for labs & U/S.

How's everyone else doing?
