Wannabe - Thank you for the kind words. My wife is also having cramping and of course my first that is "NOT IN THE TUBE". I have seen that happen both times she has been pregnant so it freaks me out. Luckily the cramping is on the other side where there is no tube.

She went in to the RE this morning to get her progesterone level checked and they told her that the cramping COULD be a good thing. I told her it was our babies snuggling in for the ride. :D

BTW...IS IT THURSDAY YET!!!

My friend just had her little girl and she told me that before she found out she was pregnant she was cramping really badly. It was to the point that it scared her. But everything was fine and she has a beautiful baby girl now!

Holy cow it feels like it's been weeks since we had the ET. November 15 is just not coming fast enough. Honestly, I'm not having any real pregnancy symptoms so I suspect it will be a BFN for us. I'm really tempted to do a HPT, I'm just so afraid of the dreaded call. I will be at work when the call arrives and definatley don't want to break down in front of my co-workers who have no idea. If I know it's a BFN before hand than I will have time to prepare myself. They say the HCG shot is gone after 10 days so Saturday would be day 10. I'm going to try and hold out but it is tempting. I feel like AF could arrive at any moment feeling crampy, constipation (sorry if TMI) and tender breasts (which I always have before AF).

I hope everyone is doing well!!

HPT

Post by PrincessB »

Tilly- I am on day 9 after HCG shot and I got a faint positive yesterday and this morning but I'm pretty sure it's from the shot. I shouldnt have taken the test because now I am racking my brain about it. My doctor said that I'm right on the borderline so it's still up in the air.
If you do the hpt and get a positive it's going to be heartbreaking if it's really a BFN. I would wait at least until Sunday (11 days after) to make sure the shot is out of your system.

Also Tilly, you just had your transfer 5-6 days ago and I don't believe the pregnancy hormone will be that prevalent right now. I just dont want you to drive yourself nuts.
I'm here if you want to chit chat!

This is from an HPT website. Thought it may help some of you who are itching to test.

Q: Can I use an HPT if I had an hCG injection (such as Profasi, Pregnyl or Novarel)?

A: You can, but you should wait 7-14 days after your last injection before the shot is out of your system. If you test too soon, you might get a false positive. Wait 14 days after a 10,000 IU injection, 10 days after a 5,000 IU injection, or 7 days after a 2,500 IU injection.

PrincessB-I was wondering where you have been my dear. How are you doing? I am glad you have joined us again. :D

Tilly-I totally agree I can't stand the waiting, it's absolute torture. I will be at a meeting on 11/15. It is a thanksgiving Potluck-share what you are thankful for type thing....yikes! I told my dh that he will get the call and then just tell me when I get home after work. I rather not know than fall apart in front of everyone-or a cart wheel of joy! That wouldn't be professional now would it?

Vickers-I too have been having some rough cramping...off and on... I am really trying not to panic but it is so a/f like. It tends to be more towards my left side probably because that it my bad side. My uterus pulls that way and because I have a slight "heartshaped" uterus my Re put the embies on my left so hopefully they are sticking and that is the pain I feel. Probably TMI to be telling a DH but hey you are one of us now. Send your wife my best.

Thank you so much ladies. You have all made me feel better. I spoke with my RE today as well as I am having real trouble with the PIO shots. I didn't have the specifics on our embryos before but she was able to give them to me. We actually had a two day transfer we had ER on Friday and ET on Sunday. She said they prefer a two day transfer unless you have had alot of failed IVF's then they do a 5 day, just a difference in RE's again I guess. Well of the 3 embies we transferred two were grade 2 4 cell embies. They tell me they very very rarely see grade 1 and the other was a grade 3 4 cell. So on a positive note I know my eggs are still of good quality at 35 I just don't have alot left. Well, hopefully (praying) I won't have to worry about it for round two since we had none to freeze the first time.

I also asked them about doing a HPT and she strongly recommended I do not. Since I will be testing on day 11 after ET she said it is possible to get a false negative. They are always so kind and helpful.

wannabeamomma-Can't wait to hear your BFP. I agree maybe I should have them call my DH as well. The best part for me is I get to go to a baby shower on the 17th for my baby sister and I'm in charge of the games so I have to be chipper.

PrincessB-Thank you so much for the information and your kind words it's so nice to have you here. You are a blessing. How are you doing??

Baby dust to everyone!!

Hi everyone,

I really want this wait over. I started having stronger cramps with some spotting. I know they say that is "normal" but for me those are strong a/f signals and it is becoming to close for comfort. I really hate feeling this way. These mixed emotions. Positive one minute sad the next. I just want the 2ww. I know the hormones are really messing with my emotions right now and I am probably just having one of "those" days. Sorry to be a downer I am just stressed. Stupid cramping and spotting.

Hang in there Wannabe! Only 4 more sleeps! But I sure know the agony. The cramps are completely normal and are identical to AF symptoms so they mean nothing. Try to ignore them - although I know that is easier said the done!

Tilly - your embies sound like they were great! Good luck! hope they are snuggling in as I write this!

Vickers - how are you and your wife handling the 2ww? Hope it is flying by!

Well, I had ER yesterday and they ended up getting 10 eggs so I was thrilled. i am anxious to hear how many fertilized!!! i expect that call in a few hours. The problem is that my RE left a note on my chart (which I didn't know about until yesterday) that said if we get 8 or more embies he wants to freeze on day 1 and then do a double transfer into a natural cycle. That sounds great except that I want to do a transfer this month. I suppose it isn't an issue if less than 8 fertilize so I should start to worry about this now. But if we have 8 or 9 fertilize then what do i do. Do i hold back 3 embies and then freeze the other 5 or 6? That is probably what we'll do. Since it was the weekend I couldn't even discuss this with my RE. Oh well, we'll just have to see how they fertilize today!

Have a great Sunday!

kelly, wannabe - We are doing fine. My wife is still having mild cramps. She said on a scale from 1-10 the highest has been a 6 but they are usually about a 4. She said it sometimes feels like a pinch more than a cramp. I am trying to make her take it easy, but of course she wants to clean the house, do laundry etc...I keep telling her to rest!!

I know you are supposed to stay away from them, but we did buy an HPT today to "possibly" be used on Wednesday. I know these things arent 100% accurate, but we would rather do this together rather than get the phone call during work hours and not be somewhat prepared. We actually work together and they will be calling me with the results. Either way, I want to be able to pick the right time to tell her the results. Not just some random time of day call.

Kelly, good luck on the fertilization.

wannabe - Hang in there girl. We are almost through this.

Hang in there guys. You are almost there and I feel something good i s coming for ya'll. We've had alot of bad luck on this board so surely it's got to be time we get some BFP's!

I'm thinking about you all. Please relax and take it easy.

For me, We're scheduled to start back on BCP the end of next week. We did the hgc shot last wed so we could try naturally but i dont feel too positive about it. I will fill you in later in the week.

Lots of love and baby dust!

Princess - good luck with your natural cycle and if that doesn't work it is nice to know that you'll be starting bcp shortly!

Wannabe - good luck hun! You are almost there!

Vickers - sounds like your wife is doing really well! don't let her exert herself too much!

Got my fertilzation report. Of the 10 eggs, 8 were mature, of that 7 fertilized. The lab said that 6 are looking great and one not so great. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it goes tomorrow. We are hoping to transfer 3 embies on Tuesday and then have some frosties to transfer into a natural cycle if it doesn't work this month!

Tilly - hope that you are doing well! Not long until your beta!
