Hi,
Recently me and my DH went through our 1st IVF cycle, with a BFN. We were very disappointed of course, as I'm sure all of you know that feeling quite well. We have decided to go ahead with a frozen transfer in a couple months, and my RE was telling me that the success rates go lower for a FET, which I was aware of. So, I was just wanting to ask if anyone had success with a FET, so it will pretty much give me more hope and give me a better outlook on things. Thanks so much!! Good luck to you all!
we had a dfferent situation, but still successful after FET. WE did an IVF several yrs ago with a BFN. We then adopted our daughter. Then, last Spring, we decided to try again an IVF cycle, using fresh eggs, but I hyperstim'd and Dr didn't want to transfer. So, we froze what was retrieved, and 2months later transferred 2 grade a embryos. I am 27 weeks with twins.
FET success rates are lower than fresh, but quality of eggs are something to look at. Our first IVF cycle the quality wasn't as good, so we didn't freeze any.
HI, I'm currently 22.5 wks pregnant through FET. I had my 1st IVF fresh cycle in March 07 and transferred 3 top grade 8, 7, and 6 celled embies. It was a BFN. I had 9 frozen embies with mostly 4 to 6 cells and were graded B's and C's. I waited 3 months and did the FET in June. I transferred 5 embies of so-so quality after thawing with 3-5 cells at most. I'm now pregnant with a little girl!!! My clinic's success rates with FET's was probably about 10-15% but what I think worked for me was my body wasn't so pumped up with the hormones as it was during the fresh cycle and had a thick and sticky uterine lining and of course a miracle from above. Good luck with your FET and let us know what happens!

My clinic in the UK has a similar success rate with both fresh and frozen cycles, i think the difference is about 5%. i have had i fresh BFN, and 3 frozen both Bio-chemical, i have since found i have a clotting disorder and test tomorrow after my third FET. will let you know the outcome.
I was lead to beleive some clinics are not very good with the freezing and thawing of embryo's rather than the quality of the embryo's. eg: we thawed 2, 2 day embryo's both frozen at 4 cell, and both thawed perfectly. My clinic do not do blastocyst.
Me 39, DH 40. TTC 5years
4th times a charm,1-IVF, 3xFET's, 2 chemical
Twin boys born 9/7/08
We did a fresh IVF in Oct 2005, FET in April 2006 both BFN. We did another fresh cycle in Oct 2006 that was BFN too but we had better quality embies with this cycle so we had 10 excellent graded frozen. So in April of this year we tried our last try at FET, transferring the 3 best embies and all 3 took! FET is alot less stressful and usually less drugs. Keep the faith...it will work when it is meant to! Just stay positive and believe that it will work. And don't give up!!
Thankyou all SOOO much for all your great stories!!!! You have not idea how much I appreciate you spending the time to do so. I feel much more confident out the outcome of FET, and am looking forward to December!! My clinic is great, they only freeze the good quality embies. We have 6 perfect ones waiting for us!! I am definetely relieved that I won't have to stim, and undergo another ER for this round. Makes things a whole lot easier!!! Congrats on all of your new babies!!!!! You all deserve it!!!
