Welcome mlifp

Post by schel67 »

Mlifp,

Welcome to the 2 week wait group mlfp! I hope we can make your wait easier. Lots of baby dust to you!

Mimi,

I'm not too sure about twins with your numbers. The numbers sound more like a singleton to me. I think an average of around 100 is looked for at day 14 past transfer. You were pretty close to that. More important is it continues to increase every 48 hours about 66%. Go ahead and google HCG levels and take a look at a couple sites. Also, You could ask your fertility clinic what numbers they look for or expect to see. I could be wrong about your numbers though and my opinion is everyone, is an individual and numbers vary for us all, the ultimate test to see if you are having twins is the 6 week ultrasound, and you might also be able to see the heartbeat/s then. Keep us posted. Heres to Baby dust all over you!

Neeve,
The HPT tests you get in stores have a lower sensitivity range ( most need to detect levels 50 to 100). You can't trust em this early. Wait for your beta like me. Also, if you have a low HCG to start, even a high sensitivity test like 20 to 25 won't detect pregnancy. At my clinic, 10 at day 14 can indicate pregnancy but, the viablity is determined by how the numbers increase. Baby dust to you.

what a great dream schel67, it's your time. i will be checking constantly tomorrow, so let us know asap!

neeve, oh dear, i'm sorry about hpt. i really think it is too early to take that seriously, so try to stay positive. isn't it too early to be feeling af cramps? wouldn't it not be due until this time next week? got big plans for the weekend to keep your mind off things?

i guess i will just wait until the 20th to find out anything more. i'm so worried about losing this baby again. i don't have any symptoms, other than being a little tired. i just try to keep reminding myself that i didn't with our son either. part of me wants to have my head stuck in the toilet for the next 5 weeks, then i'd know i was pregnant. :D

Merci mimi et Neeve .
Neeve let me tell you a little story about my lawyer. Her and her partner were doing iui and like you they couldn't wait so they went out and purchased the test ...well it came out negative . So again they thought it might be too early so again they went out and purchased another test waited a few more days ...it came out negative once again. So they cried and never went for the test at the clinic. At this point since they were a gay couple they had the option of changing who would try to conceive . The only problem was her partner really didn't want to get pregnant, she was not the pregnant type of person but was willing to do it anyway considering they had been trying for so long. So they made an apt. with the doctor to try iui on her partner instead . The Doctor couldn't recall doing a prenancy test on her so he said before we start why don't we do a pregnancy test and then we'll get things rolling . Well to their surprise she was pregnant with twins. So don"t loose hope it is way too early to tell. As I said earlier I've done this 3 time by ivf now ... I'm gonna go with the flow . Even if AF is not here by the 19th I'm not going for the test until atleast a good month. I can't handle the clinic calling me back and say " I'm sorry it came out negative "
So chicky try not to think about it and if you do ...come on here instead . We are all here for you .
When is your test again?

Thank you all for your support you are probably right that it is too early but I really feel like AF is coming so I am not keeping my hopes up too much. YOur story was fantastic mlifp there really is such amazing stories out there.

Mimi do not worry your pregnancy will go fine. It is rare to miscarry twice in a row so dont worry and enjoy.

Good luck Schel waiting on the news.

Hi Ladies,

I'm new to this game and would love to join you

My story is...

Met my DH 8 years ago and his beautiful 1 year old daughter. We started ttc in 2001, I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks in Sept 2003 and one at 7 weeks in April 2006 just after we had got married and I was also grieving over losing my fantastic Dad. Tough times.

Anyway as I live in the UK and am over 35 I qualitfy for a free cycle which I started in October. I spent the previous year going to the gym, trying to lose some weight (BMI 30), I have had acupuncture, reflexology and been seeing a nutritionist - phew.

All the investigations we have had show male factor but I have hope as DH has a daughter who was conceived without trying - tsk.

I had a Zoladex injection 3rd Oct to create temp menopause - nice hot flushes.
Started stims on 18/10 with autoinjecter, scan on day 10 showed follicles but a bit small so increased dose. Trigger shot on 30/10 and had EC on 1st Nov and collected 8 eggs. 7 were mature and all fertilised and one was grade 2 and the rest were 3/4. DH only wants one baby so had the best one transferred back in on 3rd Nov.

So 2 ww is here and am now half way though. They gave me a hpt to take home and test on 17/11 but I have an hpt in the cupboard so do you reckon I could test on 15/11?

Been feeling very tired and very hungry - do you reckon this is a good sign?

Lovely to meet you all... Best of luck for all of us, what lovely Mummies we will all make :D

Hi Schel,

I am so sorry for you it is so hard I really feel your pain! Relax and look after yourself I am thinking of you.

Well I am still waiting but I dont have much hope I am still convinced that AF is coming not much longer to go I will find out on monday.

Welcome Magic Magin I hope your embie is dividing nicely and ready to implant. One thing I am 100% sure of is that IVF is exhausting so it is perfectly natural to feel so tired rest and relaxation is the most important. I would not advise to test early I did last thursday and got a negative so I am feeling preety low since when really there is a possibility that it is not viable so my advise is to wait it out (I know easier said than done) Take good care of yourself and my fingers are crossed for a BFP!!!!!

Thanks for your advice Neeve...

Can I just ask does everyone have a blood test? My clinic have given me a test but it is a urine test. If it is positive I have to go back 2 weeks after that for a scan... Does anyone alse do it like this?

Positive thoughts to all of us

In France you always do a blood test in the States too funny that in England it is just a urine test it differs from country to country.

oh, shecl, i'm so sorry to hear of your bfp. i know how disappointing this can be. it sounds like you are like me and just plug forward. let us know how monday goes, i'll be thinking of you. have a glass of wine and try to relax.

neeve, try to hang in there, you know your body better than anyone, but keep the faith, it isn't over until it's over. i'll be praying for you, let us know asap.

mlifp, did you test yesterday? what happened?

magic magin, let's hope that grade 2 embie is sticking in there nicely. neeve is right, for ivf it's bloodwork at our clinic in the us, however, not so for iui's. i know it is hard not to read into every sign, but try not to, you'll kill yourself. and i agree with neeve, i wouldn't test early. are you taking progesterone shots?

Hi, I'm taking a progesterone pill twice a day and a pessary twice a day.

This 2ww is a nightmare eh? Halfway through today... Ok I'll wait until next Saturday like they said, thanks so much for the advice. I guess a false reading either way is worse than waiting!

I'm glad to find you ladies to go through this with, hope you are all feeling ok and taking it easy?

Take care...
