Those of you who are having or have had twins... when were you told to stop working (if you were working full time)? Also, what type of rest (full, modified, hospital) did your doctor put you on? and why?
Also...I've had a lot of pressure for the last 2 weeks and I'm only 15w - just wonder if that will let up as the babies rise more into my abdomen...
Thanks for your responses...

B/G TWINS!!! Due 4/30/08 Born Friday April 4th, 2008 at 36w 2d Baby girl A 6 lbs 7 oz Baby boy B 6 lbs 3 oz
i am on permanent bedrest b/c i have a shortened cervix at 26 weeks. Most twin mom's i know stop working at about 31 weeks if no other problems are occuring.
My twins are 10 weeks old and I was told to cut back on work by 2 hours a day at about 20 weeks and then up to half days by 25 weeks or so. I worked up until the day I was put on hospital bedrest rest at 32 weeks. I also have a physically demanding job as well that requires manual labor.
My twins were born at 34 weeks. I know a lot of twin mothers that never went on bedrest or even took time off work. It all depends on your body. Keeping busy is good for all three of you. It kept me thin, in shape and healthy. My babies were born with great weights and I slimmed back down to normal very quickly. I totally credit it to staying active.
Good luck to you and dh! Twins are so much fun!

Well I start to cut back on my working hours around 27 weeks, I just couldn't take 40 hours of week anymore. Thanks G-d I can work from home, and I am puting around 25-30 hours a week.
My doc mentioned around 30 weeks that I have to take it easy from now on, but I didn't even wait for him to tell me that, my body let me know about it already.
I wasn't given any restrictions, however at 33.5 weeks I had some bleeding and contractions and they put me on modified bed rest (work from home and I could move around the house as I needed). I ended up having the babies the next day by emergency c-section. However, it was later determined that I had a uterine infection that caused my trouble and most likely didn't need to deliver the babies. Luckily all turned out well and the babies were great weights and didn't need any medical intervention.
My doctor always told me that I could continue to work full time during my pregnancy as long as I didn't show any signs of complications.

It all depends on mom's health. In our experience, my wife's work life ensures a good and healthy routine. She eats more healthy on weekdays than on weekends.
Thank God for the flexibility, rrom week 25 onwards, my wife has modified her schedule by coming home by 3 PM, relax/nap and then work for 2 hours. She intends to stop working at week 31.
