Recently me and my DH went through our 1st IVF cycle, with a BFN. We were very disappointed of course, as I'm sure all of you know that feeling quite well. We have decided to go ahead with a frozen transfer in a couple months, and my RE was telling me that the success rates go lower for a FET, which I was aware of. So, I was just wanting to ask if anyone had success with a FET, so it will pretty much give me more hope and give me a better outlook on things. Thanks so much!! Good luck to you all!
Success with FET after failed IVF
My cousin (who talks on these boards) had 3 failed attempts at IVF. I know for sure 1 if not 2 were fresh cycles. She then changed clinics, where they did 1 frozen transfer. It was supposed to be a fresh cycle but was cancelled for 1 month due to OHSS, so it resulted in a frozen transfer the following month. She is now 9 weeks pregnant so frozen transfers do work!

I'm surprised you were told that FETs are not as successful as fresh IVF. My RE told me otherwise. I have a friend who got pregnant on her second FET (with twins) and I just got pregnant on my first FET. For my fresh IVF, I had severe cramping from the injectibles and for a couple weeks following the egg retrieval. For the FET I felt nothing, and I'm sure the fact that I was more relaxed and not in any pain really helped. But do not despair about resorting to FET. I have heard many success stories from it. I'm sure it will work for you too! Hang in there.
The only clinic SART lists in Idaho is Russel Foulk's.
SART reports that clinic had a 45% live birth rate in 2005 in FET cycles in your age group (under 35). That's as good as the national average for fresh non-donor cycles. That was 2 years ago, and it has probably improved since then, as the general trend in birth rates is upwards.
Successful FET cycles follow failed fresh cycles all the time, thousands of times per year. It's commonplace.
