Hi Emma,

Not sure if I remember anyone on here, but Jac on Fertility Friends certainly had - she has not long had her baby.

You'll be more than welcome if you come over and join the bun in the oven/3rd trimester thread and if you don't get a reply from Jac soon, let me know and I'll contact her for you.

Sorry you've had such a blow, but apparently it can be controlled and, a small consollation I know, at least you have no problems with needles.

Good Luck

love Fiona xxx

Hi Emma,
I am sorry to hear about your news.(another thing to worry about isn't it!!)
They thought I had Diabetes, but decided in the end it was just raised blood sugar levels.(I think Helen G had this too)
They did say though that I probably wouldn't have needed to inject insulin but that they usually control it by diet. I was told I may have to be induced at 37/38 weeks if the baby got too big, have you been told this?
They also said it should disappear after the birth so wasn't a permanent thing.
I am probably telling you stuff you already know- sorry!!!
But best of luck with the last stretch!!
Lots of love
Kirsty
x
TTC for 7 yrs (have severe endo and pcos and hubby has v low sperm) until became pg after ICSI cycle last feb. Now am the lucky mother of perfect little boy called Joshua born last october.

Hi

Fiona - thanks for that but I couldn't find any postings from Jac on fertility friends maybe when you speak to hear next you could mention me.

Kirsty - did you have the high glucose tolerence test? this is how they detected mine but told me at the time they I probably had nothing to worry about - yeah all right - now I'm a nervouse reck!!!

Shell - I was having sugar and protein in my urine but apart from that and drinking more than normal I don't think there are any other symptons! Yes, they do the glucose tolerence test at 28 weeks through blood test after fasting and having a high glucose drink not nice but manageable!!

I haven't really asked much about what will happen duruing the rest of my pregnancy, they want me to monitor for a further week and then I'll have a scan on the 3/11 and depending on whether the growth goes out of the range determines all!!!

Thanks for your help girls!
Emma
x
Hi

Fiona my name is the same on FF as it is on here, Emma0908, thanks for your help and I'll look forward to hearing from her.

Shell - unless you have been told specifically that they are doing a high glucose tolerence test then maybe your not having this test done. Normally the 28 week bloods are for iron levels and blood counts also one on blood group (for update in case you need a blood transfusion).

take care girls

love
emma
x
