I'm new to this and have some questions..

Hello I have just started IVF for the first time. I started taking lupron on 10-18-07 and on 11-3-07 started taking follistim. I went to the doctor today and I have only produced 3 follicles in my left ovary and one in the right ovary. My doctor wanted to see 10 follicles....Has anyone had anything like this and how did it work out?

Welcome baby2! I have a similar story. I started my first IVF cycle in Oct. Lupron started on 10/15 and stims started on 10/25. After 6 days of stimming I went in for my first u/s and only had 2 follicles. My dr. as well was expecting to see about 10. At that point, I stopped the lupron altogether and they increased my doses of gonal-f and menopur. I continued to have u/s every other day and ended up stimming for 15 days total. My doc was very close to canceling my cycle, but never gave up on me. We went into the retrieval knowing we only had 1 mature follie, and about 6 small ones that all measured less than 10mm. Long story short, my retrieval was Friday 11/9 and they got 5 eggs. This morning we transferred 3 embryos! Sometimes people are slow starters...1 or 2 more days of stimming can make a huge difference, and others of us are just poor responders, but that doesn't mean it won't work for us.
