hi gang
here i am at 1.02a.m., cannot get to sleep, i'm sure somethings wrong,, i am 5weeks and 4 days and do not feel sick, just bloated.. maybe it's an etopic, are there any signs for that? or do i just have to wait for my scan? which is not untill 31/10.
oh maybe i am just being silly, some days i dread the thought of the sickness and other days i wish it were here.
i could go on and on but.....
help.....
love jackie xxx
Hi Jackie

To be honest I was exactly like yourself because I wasn't feeling sick or being sick I thought that being pregnant was all in my mind etc and I also thought the same as you. The thing is I started to feel sick from about 8wks and then I got uptil about 17wks majority of the days I just couldn't eat my breakfast and I was struggling to eat my tea. I was glad that the sickness went and that I could start to feel better. The thing is not everyone gets sickness and just because they don't get sickness doesn't mean there is something wrong it just means they are very lucky.

Love
Shell.
26wks 6d pg
xx
Dear Jackie,

Try not to worry - I had very little sickness at all. It may come later as Shell said. One thing you learn on this website is that everyone is so different - some people throw up, some don't. I used to run to the loo every 5 minutes (in fact now that I am nearly 28 weeks, I need the loo more again, especially when the baby kicks my bladder!).
However - I do know that it doesn't stop yourself from worrying and I found the 2ww from the pregnancy test to the first scan worse than 'the 2ww' from ET to the pregnancy test. However, I'm sure it will all be okay and you'll soon be enjoying your pregnancy.

Best of luck for the 31st,

Alison xx
Hi Jackie

You are feeling just like me at the mo. I had bad sickness for the first 2 weeks and I mean BAD and then it just stopped. I didn't feel PG, my boobs didn't hurt (still don't), I don't need the loo all the time and I was convinced it had all been a sick joke that I was PG. I went for my scan yesterday and was terrified, but there it was, a little sack and a teeny heart beat.

It's only natural to worry and this waiting drives you insane. I think if it was ectopic you would have some sharp pains in that area but I haven't had an ectopic so I can only guess.

How come your scan isn't till the 31st. Thats longer than 2 weeks since your test isn't it? Good luck for the 31st.

Please dont get to worried you may be one of the lucky few who breeze through with no sickness at all.

Keep on smilin' love Dagny xx
6 weeks PG

[Edited by Dagny on 22-Oct-03 02:22]

Hi Jackie,
try not to worry about things (easier said than done I know!!)
I am almost 39 weeks pg and only had one weeks sickness in week 22!!
Some peole get sick and others don't. Make the most of it- in case sickness is looming round the corner!!!
I have had sleepless nights all the way though too. (especially in the first and last trimesters)
I am sure everything is fine, once you have your scan you will probably relax more. But the worrying never seems to stop!!
Best of luck with your special nine months,
lots of love
kirsty
xx
TTC for 7 yrs (have severe endo and pcos and hubby has v low sperm) until became pg after ICSI cycle last feb. Now am the lucky mother of perfect little boy called Joshua born last october.
hi jackie

Your 2ww seems to be going on forever - you poor thing. I told you it was hard waiting for the scan. You'll be ok. I'm one of the unlucky ones who is sick from morning til night, apparently my mum was exactly the same all the way through her pregnancy, so I've just resigned myself to the fact that this is how it is and I just have to get on with it.

Maybe for reassurance ask your mum (if you can) how she was when she was pg. You might find she wasn't sick at all and like so many others you'll just breeze through.

Its only another week, it will soon pass. Try to get regular sleep and keep drinking your water. I know how agonising it is all this bloody waiting!!!!

love nikola.xx
hi girls
well i rang the clinic this morning{8.05} and because my pains are down the side rather than the front and are really sharp, and i think mostly because john[DH] is going to drive me mad, they are going to scan me on friday{6weeks}, but they say we won't see any heartbeat, but we will see if there is a sac in the womb, and i can come in next friday for another one to see heartbeat. this has put my mind at rest a little. i have got other children from my {ex}marraige, but i cannot remember a thing about any pregnancies only that i was extremely, extremely sick for 9 months and had pre-eclampsia,maybe this time i am going to be very lucky and not get sick, i just feel a bit queasy.. and tired.
thanks for all your kind words, and i'm sure you are right, it's nothing to worry about.
talk soon
love jackie xxx
hi jackie

I'm glad for your sake that they are going to scan you on Friday (same as me!!) YOu might be surprised, I saw two strong heartbeats at 6 weeks - you might too! I'm hoping my scan on Friday might show a bit more.....like a head or body or something! How exciting!

love nikola.xx

Hi Jackie

Just to let you know I have felt sick as a dog today and as you know was really worrying all last week beacause I didn't feel sick. I am sure your time will come!

I really hope your scan goes well tomorrow. Please let us know as soon as you can. Good luck honey.

Nikola, how are you doing? Is the sickness any better? Good luck with your scan tomorrow too, let me know if you see an arm or a head ASAP. I bet you don't sleep tonight!

What are peoples thoughts on amnio's and nuchal tests etc? As I am 35 we have thought about testing but are not sure what's best.

Love Dagny x
6wks 1d pg

hi Dagny

I had my 8 weeks scan today and saw two heads (not on the same baby, as in my freaky dream last night!!!) and we saw one of them moving and two legs - very sweet. The difference between 6 weeks and 8 weeks is just amazing. They both have very strong heartbeats and we were told everything looks looks good. I have strict orders to worry less and try and enjoy my pregnancy!

We had a long discussion today about testing, and whilst we were deliberating over the Nuchal scan we've decided against. Simply because we wouldn't wish to terminate should anything be wrong anyway, so I don't see the point in risking a miscarriage for no reason. Also the tests are less accurate for twins so it seems pointless.

When is your next scan? Hope you are feeling ok and coping with the sickness. I think I've got used to it, I now realise that if I have a small window (sometimes only half an hour) I need to eat then because I might not feel like it later. So I've just had a jacket potato for lunch/tea at 4.30 in the afternoon.....crazy!

Hope you and everyone else is doing ok.

love nikola.xx

ps Jackie - how did your scan go? I'm going to post you another thread in case you don't see this one!
Hi Jackie,

Every pregnancy is different and you may be very lucky and get no sickness. I'm 18 weeks and have not felt sick once (no, I lie, I think I did once in Asda - lol!)
Isin't it funny how we all want the bad symtoms to convince ourselves what's really happening?!

Dagny/Nikola - we've done no tests for Down's etc, don't think I could do anything about a bad result anyway and the results are not always right, especially if you've bled a lot like me. Do what YOU think is right, lots of people do and don't have amnio. My aunt had one and she was fine, a friend of my mum had one and she miscarried - there's seems to be no rhyme nor reason for it. We've simply decided to have some faith, although we may pay for a 20 wk scan although that's just me wanting to see the baby again!

Hope everyone and their bumps are keeping well
Zoe x
