December 07 Babies

Sha, I had a midwife appintment and scan today and all I can say is don't trust the midewives when they say the baby is head down. Ihad the m'wife appointment first and she saw my notes then felt the baby and said,, 'great its moved its now head down', I said are you sure because I haven't felt it change position and its been breech for the last 9 wks, are you sure thats not its bottom, and she said nope its definitely its head, its head down. She then heard the heart beat and said that was in the right position for the baby to be head down. I then went straight for a scan where sure enough the baby is still in its hammock, hands and feet around its face, bottom over my cervix, as it has been since about 23 wks and its written in all my notes. I think the midwives just make it up.
Anyway, I'm seeing the consultant next week so we'll know more then. The scan also showed that the fluid was very low around the baby, don't know whether this means they may decide to get it out sooner? How have things been left with your hospital? Also have you had a scan to check the baby's position or was it just a midwife? Its coincdence that I had a scan today it was arranged by a midwife who was concerned that my bump isn't as large as it should be so a growth scan really and nothing to do with the baby's position.

I hope you're all doing well, in no time at all this site will be full of birth announcements!!!!

Sha, I can't even begin to think about Christmas, I can't even start planning baby things til the course finishes at the end of the month, Christmas is a long way down my list! Don't worry, I don't think anyone expects us to be on top of it this year!

Tams I read somewhere if you drink more water you can increase your fluid. But it wont help with the trips to loo!

Miss Piggy, thanks I'll try it!!
Course is hideous, thoroughly stressed and haven't had time to sort out any baby gubbins - am working til 12 at night and up again at 6 - luckily only two weeks to go and hopefully the baby won't arrive until at least a week after that.

Hi ladies hope we are all keeping well. We are def having our little girl on the 22nd OMG thats like in 4 days!! we had a post op check the other day and she is still breech so we are going in for our c-section. Im getting really excited now i can't belive we are going to meet her soon to actully see her little face and have her look at me in the eye it chokes me up every time i think about it i still can't belive we are going to be parents, I must have repacked my hospital bag about 10 times now, Im making list after list of things to do i justwant everything to be ready, I also can't wait to have heartburn anymore it has been so bad the last 2 weeks.

Tams, thanks for the info, i seen my midwife again on saturday and now the heads is engaged, i just really do hope it is the head!!!!! as for me having another scan well it's not on the cards, as the baby is head down then the consultant doesnt want to see me unles i go over due and then he will consider an induction instead of waiting the 14 days!!! i really do hope i go either a little early or on time i just do not fancy having an induction....
well its less than 4 weeks to go for me know and i'm getting slightly nervous about the birth, i have finaly finished work and i think it was just at the right time as my legs and ankles are now swelling quite bad(not nice) and the backache is killing me.

hope everyone else is doing ok, has anyone heard anything from Quinta????? she must have had the babies by now?????

Denise- how are you and your little ones?? hope the sleepless nights aren't to much for you.

Sha, thats so exciting! If the head's engaged then it must surely be the head, don't think the bottom can manage to squish down that far. I'm seeing the consultant today, I guess the baby's still breech after last week's scan so we'll see what he says. Also the ultrasound nurse was concerned about the reduction in fluid and growth rate of the baby - we'll see what he says about that. I'm suspecting that we may get a date for a c section, very strange!
Mrs B, good luck for Thursday, so so exciting! How many week will you be? You must make sure you post some pictures!
Miss Piggy, Denise, I hope you're both doing well. I imagine that 2 x small babies must be keeping you busy Denise?! Miss Piggy, any twinges to report?

Yep I had my husbands grandmas funeral yesterday and I had b/Hicks all day and every twenty mins in the night.
Today is my daughters 9th birthay and we were up 6.30 opening presents.Tomorrow is her party so if I can keep my legs crossed till thursday that would help.
I am sure when thursday comes and I have nothing to do, the baby will decide to stay in another 3 weeks.HA HA
I find its when I sit or lie down the b/ hicks start.Does anyone else have this? Also is anyone else getting sore?
My echo's are every friday morning now

It must be nice to have a date to work with!

Hi ladies just wanted to let you know we had our beautiful daughter Milana Faye she weighed 7lbs 14oz we left hospital on monday we are so glad to be home i can't belive she is hear she is amazing i can't stop looking at her. I will try and post some pics tomoz.

hello ladies,

Mrs B so glad you are all doing ok, you must be floating on cloud nine.

well i have some news for you all

my waters broke on tuesday night but no contractions, and still today nothing so i'm off into hospital this afternoon for an induction, can't believe its happening, i so wanted a natural birth but hey as long as the baby is fine i really dont care. i'm so nerveous now!!!! so scared that i wont be able to cope with the pain!!!

well ladies i wish you all well, will let you know how i got on and what the sex ect is as soon as i get out of hospital.
