AF like bleeding(not just spotting) 4 days post transfer

I am on my 2nd IVF cycle and in 2ww.

I had my 3 day transfer on Nov 12th... transferred 3 6 cell embryos. 3 days later, I had severe cramping and very very light spotting. 4dp3dt, I had AF like bleeding, not just spotting along with moderate cramping... bright red color(not pink or brown)... I had to wipe 4 or five times to clean it up. But bleeding stopped after that. Since then, light cramping and back pain, but no spotting or bleeding.

Was what I experienced implantation bleeding? I have heard that implantation spotting is very light and usually pink or brown color. Since I had a little heavier bright red bleeding, I am concerned if I am having early AF symptoms...

Has anybody had this before and got a BFP? Please share your experiences.

Hi Ammu,

It sounds like implantation bleeding to me!!! It is at the right time which is a good sign. Do you usually get that type of spotting before AF arrives? I would think it is way too early for AF to arrive anyway.

I wouldn't worry - I think what you experienced was a very good thing!!

I wouldn't stress about it. Everyone's different. I had one friend who was convinced she wasn't pregnant b/c she bled for 9 days (so obviously thought it was a long AF). When AF didn't show the next month, she got tested and was 9 weeks along! Here's hoping it was IB for you!

Since this was the very first time I have had bleeding way before AF date, I didn't know how to read into it. I am hoping that it was IB.

Just wondering, can progesterone cause bleeding like this? I am taking prog. injections every day.

My test date is Friday, Nov 23rd. It will be 12dp3dt. I am thinking if I should do an HPT on Wednesday and Thursday. Just want to prepare myself for the news, good or bad.

Kellym, reading your signature line, I think you are such a strong person. I am praying that you get BFP and carry your baby to full term.

Yes, I'm doing my first IVF right now. ER estimated for Thursday or Friday of this week.
