Sciteacher -- you really are working yourself to the bone. I admire your strength, but don't know how you do it. I'm working full time -- until about 7-7:30 at night and I'm exhausted when I come home. My weekends are usually spent catching up on rest.

Congrats on the announcement. I'm sure the parents will be thrilled. Let us know how it goes.

I am having my NT this Thurs -- finally feel like I'm getting close to the end of the first trimester and can't wait to get that "2nd trimester energy". On top of that, can't wait to get closer to that 16 wk mark to know the sex of my twinkies.
Me: 40; DH: 30 (Demi/Ashton!)

9/23/07: BFP with 745.6 Beta!!! Twins

hello everyone,

really nice to read that everyone is doing well although Cocoa, take really good care of yourself and let us know what the OB/GYN says.

I'm also feeling so much better - almost human again in the day although still feel sick and exhausted in the evenings. If I make it passed 8:30 it's a long night!

For the ladies who are having twins I have a ton of questions.....

- how much weight have you gainned? I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and have gained 6 lb's...my tummy is sticking out and is now hard but almost everyone I meet tell me i'm too small and now it's started to worry me.

- did your Doctor tell you flying was OK? My RE from the IVF clinic said no way but I am very home sick and would love to fly back to the UK to see my family.

- excercise? what are you guys doing? I have zero energy and have read different opinions on whether we should or shouldn't be.

- sex - sorry for a personal one; is anyone having a normal sex life? we've been on pelvic rest due to the blood clot but I'm hoping that comes to a stop now - having said that I'm worried that it may affect things.... everything I read says it's normal but I am petrified of hurting our chances after evrything we've been through.

- are you all delivering in a hospital with a NICU? C section or natural?

- are you going to classes?

think that's it - I'm going to my OB/GYN tomorrow and will ask all of these questions too but would love to hear your thoughts.

by the way my NF test came back 1:5750 so was very happy - no further testing for us.

Love to you all

Rebecca

PS. any one got any good twins websites - have to start thinking about all th gear we need at some point and not sure where to start!

Hi Rebecca and Ladies:

Thanks - I am feeling better regarding my awful cold. I still have post nasal drip however which is so very annoying. My doc wants me to modify my work schedule so I have to be careful not to overextend myself during the day and come home and go right to the couch or bed as I still have the pressure. Does anyone else have yellowish thick discharge (sorry for the TMI  )?

Let's see - my hospital has a level 4 NICU (top one in the whole area); I am not going to classes this time around; no sex anymore (too chancy with the prostiglandins in sperm); and finally NO MORE exercise but all these decisions are just precautions due to the pressure. I hope it lets up as the babies rise into my upper abdomen. Then my new problem will be eating (not that it isn't now - I have no appetite and still many food averions - esp sweets). I am 16 weeks and look a full 5 months pregnant. I have gained 12 pounds. Yes, I am still sick, have metal mouth, and get tired but not like trimester 1.

Babyb - hate to burst your bubble but they don't look for the gender until the full scan at 20 weeks. Mine is scheduled for Dec 10th but my next OB appt is Dec 3rd (unless I have to see her earlier if the pressure doesn't start to let up). I was so hoping to find out the genders this week but nooooo -doc said "too early".

So OK - my HBs are 134 and 144... what do you think about genders and HBs? Does anyone believe that you can tell based on HBs? My son's HB was always in the 130s but I think that babies HBs may have something to do with how mom's body controls her own HB electrically. Any theories about that or the ol' wives tale?

Rebecca don't worry about your size - that has more to do with whether or not your uterus is tipped backward or forward at this stage. Yours probably hasn't tipped out of the pelvic cavity into the abdominal cavity - its still pretty early for that unless its a second baby then it happens about now (like with me and my big belly! )

OK - have to watch HOUSE now... glad WC is doing well - wish I was there...

Hey Girls, how is everyone doing? I've just been taking it easy and enjoying being pregnant at last. My morning sickness has got much better in past week or so. I still feel a bit rough on and off but it's not constant any more.

I'm now much more aware that the babies are there, to the point that I can sometimes tell exactly where they both are. I've also felt quite a bit of wriggling around! The other night in bed I could feel one moving so I got my DH to put his hand on my belly. He left it there for a while and then WHACK!!!!!....he got a boot right in the hand! We even heard it, like a little drum. Maybe the baby was getting protective over it's space and didn't like being crowded! But the funniest thing was my DH's reaction. He literally sh*t himself and jumped a mile!!! So funny!!!

My belly has gotten bigger, I look proper pregnant now! I've got some maternity trousers as there's no way I can fit into regular clothes anymore. I'm not sure how much weight I've put on as I haven't really been weighing myself. They've been doing it at the hospital so I must remember to check next time. Next milestone is the 20 week scan!!! Mine is on New Years Eve! And I'll acually be nearly 22 weeks by then, but it was the only appointment they had.

Anyone else had a go on a doppler? I took mine to my DH's Mum's yesterday so she could have a listen, and she was delighted!

What about the 3d/4d scan? Who else is going for one of those? And at how many weeks?

I have to go back to work this Wednesday which I'm not looking forward to. I've been off so long now that I've forgotten what work is! It's going to be really hard doing a full day as I'm still getting really tired really quickly.

Oh well better make the most of the next couple of days taking it easy!

Love, Hayley xx

hello everyone,

Hayley - It's great you can feel teh babies so early - I wish I could, I've been having lots of stretching pains but on the days when I don't I start to panic that they're still in there! My doctor told me that I should start to feel them in teh next couple of weeks but I have no idea what to expect!

Vlada, sorry to hear about your cold but glad to hear that other than that you're well.

My tummy has just started to pop out but other than looking a bit solid round the middle you can't really tell. I'm actually looking forward to looking pregnant as I was convinced I would be huge by now! I'm in maternity trousers but more for comfort than need - My hubby bought me a lovely pair by Chip & Pepper and I love them more than my old jeans!

My morning sickness is also going - just a bit in the evening which can turn into full on vommiting when I brush my teeth as my gaging reflex is very sensitive. Also still burping lots in the evening which is very pleasant for my DH!!

Is anyone else getting really full very fast? Even a sandwich feels like I've had a full on Christmas dinner!

I have my next sacn on December 5th at 18 weeks. This is when they will be able to tell me the sex but we are being traditional and will wait till April. Anyone else not finding out?

OK, better get on with some work.

Love to you all

I just had my 12 week scan and all looks well. While it is too early to really predict the sex of my twins, the Dr believes we have one boy and one girl (although we aren't allowed to decorate our nursery based on his beliefs just yet). We don't do our ultrasounds at the OB. We go to a special clinic that does nothing but ultrasounds, CVS, AMNIO and genetic testing. The machines at this center blow away the ultrasound machines at my OB's office. These guys are amazing -- predicted my daughter at only 13 weeks last time. Praying nothing pops up on the little one thought to be a little girl.

We will know with more certainty at our 16 weeks scan on Dec 17. Typically, we wouldn't go in for a structural until 20 weeks, but because my daughter suffered from a diaphragmatic hernia last time, the Dr. is checking MUCH earlier and more frequently this time around. At the end of the day, however, all I ask is for healthy twins!

How is everyone else doing? Sounds like we are all starting to pop. I'm certainly getting big. Don't know how much I have gained, but I know I'm in maternity clothing and sporting a full on belly at 3 mos that looks more like my 5 mo belly last go around.

Woodcliff: You still enjoying Italy? Probably a stupid question! How can you NOT enjoy an Italian get away?!

Cocoa: How is your pressure these days? My Dr. suggested I start pilates or yoga today to develop my core strength. I'm already feeling some back pain and joint aches. Are you allowed any strength building exercises?

Well, better jump. Hope everyone has a great turkey day.

Rebecca I am burping like a good un! I mean it' REALLY bad!! I just blame it on the babies though and my DH doesn't seem to mind.

And no we're not finding out the sex either, we're going to wait and have a surprise. My DH decorated the bedroom last weekend - a nice yellow so it will be ok for boys or girls (or both!). Mind you, I am going to have a 4D scan next year so may accidentally find out then. I'll tell the sonographer that I don't want to know so they can try and keep the camera away from their bits!

H Girls,

Hope you are all doing well, and all those who had M/S are now feeling better.

I felt my first fluttering movements today, they have happened at least 8 times, and what a fantastic feeling. My sister told me that drinking fresh orange juice makes the baby livelier in the womb, so I tried it and it worked, felt the baby move about 20 minutes later!

I've run out of orange juice now!!!

Hi Ladies!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all those in America who celebrate!!! I had a wonderful morning... we all went to church and the priest was just excellent... There IS so much to be Thankful for!

I am almost completely over my M/S with only metal mouth and some nausea after I eat sticking around. I still have pressure but its letting up a bit as the babies get bigger! I saw them again on Tuesday and one is laying right on top of the other. The squished beanie was moving her head back and forth as if to say "get off of me" - it was wild.

Well, I had a scare this week... even though my first trimester screen was great (1:5,300) my doc had me do the triple screen and it came out risk for downs 1:27. I was baffled but in such a twighlight zone that I did not bring up the huge discrepancy with my OB when she called me in discuss the results of the triple blood screen. Anyway, she made an appt with the geneticist for the next day to discuss other testing/screening options (though amnio would have been totally out of the question given how long its taken me to get here). Anyway, I went to the hospital to see the genetic counselor and SHE was baffled too (given the 1st trimester screen) until she saw that the lab had used the wrong info to calculate the ratio. It was re-done and came out 1:1,727 which is MUCH better odds right?! I did a lot of soul searching in that 24 hours and came to accept that whatever God gives me will be a gift regardless of the outcome. I was ready for anything (except an amnio :) ) I am glad now that I had decided to wait until after my appt with the geneticist to tell my DH because it all turned out better than expected.

I feel the babies all the time now. I can differentiate even though one is on top of the other but they are both more over to the right side so when I lay down I see an uneven bump at times. I really do look about 6 months along and I was just 4 true months yesterday...

Keep up the communication!!! WC I know you're having a great time and I hope you're feeling well. We can't wait to have you back!

LisaPa - How ARE you!?!? Stay in touch ladies - And I STILL think we should have list of ladies and due dates at this point... Who's up for it?

I think that's a good idea Cocoa, but its one hellava big job to read through all old posts, so just a suggestion why don't we all just relist our due dates so a list can be compiled easier.

Here's mine
