OHSS

I need some help--I started suffereing from OHSS 2 days after the trigger shot until 2 days after egg transfer. I gained 12 pds, very bloated, etc. My dr. only transferred 1 egg due to OHSS getting worse with pregnancy. I am on the verge of breakdown because I am feeling so much better (lost 7 out of the 12 pds) and only a little bloated. Can someone please help me...has anyone had a POSITIVE pregnancy test after OHSS symptoms have gone away.

I wish I had seen your post earlier b/c I feel your pain. I am currently dealing with OHSS (thankfully it's not as bad as some people's). What are the dates of your retrieval and transfer? It all depends on the timing I think. My retrieval was on 11/12 (trigger shot on 11/11). After the er I felt really gross--bloated, distended abdomen, trouble peeing, etc. 2 days later I felt worse, and they did u/s and blood work before they would do the transfer. We went ahead with the transfer on 11/15. I felt better within the next few days. On Wed., 11/21 the NP called me from the clinic asking how I was, and I felt almost 100% better. My abdomen was deflated considerably and I was feeling almost normal. My pants were fitting again. The next day was Thanksgiving and I woke up feeling like I had been run over by a truck. Friday and especially Sat. were even worse. I paged the nurse on Sat., and I had to go in for u/s and bloodwork on Sunday morning. I got my BFP that day (beta 211). Things got worse after that (ended up in ER on 11/26 because I could not pee at all).

When my symptoms got better on around 11/21, I totally assumed I was not pg. I was glad I felt better but was depressed. Did you get your beta done yet? Your message was from 11/19 so I know I am late in responding but I wanted to share my story w/you. Hope to hear back from you.

YES YES YES, I had a BFP after OHSS symptoms went away. I had read so many things about OHSS getting worse because of rising HCG when you get pregnant so I was convince I wasn't pregnant, but low and behold a BFP!

I have a case of OHSS and it sent me to the ER feeling as though I could not breathe. That was on Thursday I woke up at 5AM. They gave me pain meds and it took till today (Sunday) to where it does not hurt as bad to get up and move around (Still on pain meds). The ovaries are killing me. They put 2 eggs in my yesterday so lets hope they take! It is nice to know that after the OHSS symptoms go away that there are still pregnancies. I am sure it depends on your severity of OHSS. I hope mine does not get worse and there is still a BFP. I still am in the 2ww so we shall see!! I suppose it depends on when your eggs attach to your wall.
