Hi Ladies,
I had ER on Friday 11/16. They got 23 eggs, so I was pretty full. Since then I've had terrible heart burn/indigestion/soreness/bloatiness... you name it. Does anyone have any suggestions to help alleviate the symptoms? I've kept a close eye on my weight so I don't think it's OHSS. My guess is that it's a combination of the ER & the steroids and antibiotics that I'm on. I just don't know what to do about it. I've tried pepcid & maalox already without much effect.
Thanks,

I had my ER on 11/15. I am so bloated, I cant close any of my pants. I'm also having lower back pains and I can't get comfortable laying down. I tried Tums and Gas X nothing has worked. I hope you feel better soon. I can't wait to have some relief.
I know excatly how you are feeling, I was the same after my ER on Nov 8th. Unfortunately, I never did find anything to take away the discomfort. I found lying on my side hurt my bloated tummy, sitting up seemed to be the best position. I took 2 extra strength tylenol 4 times a day, too. Some ladies have said their RE prescribed them vicodin, too. Good luck! It does go away soon, my symptoms have gone away now.

I had 28 eggs and can relate to the pain. M\y ER was 11/5 and I am only now almost done with the bloating. My ER suggested 1-2 tablespoons of Malanta or Malox twice a day. Make sure you are not drinking ANY regular water. This was tough on me, but even last weekend I had a glass of water and ws doubled over that night. Alot of juice, gatorade, and things with electrolytes. Pears, kiwi, and prunes are good as well.
I had to take vicodin, Tylenol just wasn't going to work for me. Just remember that the PIO and vicodin both add to constipation, so make sure you are getting alot of juice and fluids.
The ER said that if BFP then the symptoms can last a few more weeks.
hey there
i thought i'd write in case the pain you are having was the same as i had. on my first cycle i ended up with bad pains in my chest and lung area and didn't know it until my 2nd cycle that the pain was caused by the nurses breathing to hard for me. When you get put under for your collection there is a moment when you stop breathing yourself and the nurses help by breathing for you with a bag squeezing air into your lungs until your right again. I mentionded the pain to one of the doctors that do the work up for me before i go in and he told me this is the reason for the pain i explained and that it was caused by too much air being being pushed in he made notes for the nurses to bag me lighter and although i had the same pain the 2nd time around it was definately less intense and more bearable hope this info helps especially so you can mention it for your next round . I'm hoping you won't need it but you never know you might want a sibling for this one.
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to give you guys an update. The day of my ET 11/21/07 I had acupuncture right before the transfer. I told the acupuncturist about my bloating, pain, & GI symptoms. She said "Oh I can fix that." And sure enough ever since then I've been feeling much much better. I'm wearing normal pants again and eating pretty much what I want. If I end up with a BFP then I'm going back to acupuncture throughout the 1st trimester to combat morning sickness.
