Hello all!!

Sorry to hear about your BFN Elca. It is harder to go through than most people think, right? I have hopes for us all to have a BFP by the end of the year.

I did have a question for the ones going through it a while. I have done IUI twice with Clomid and I had to take this month off to have surgery on my hand. If you took a month off, did most of your AF's come around the same time as when you were on Clomid? Mine has been exactly 26 days the last three months, including 2 months on Clomid. I am just trying to guestimate when my next AF will be to make sure I have day 12 off of work.

Hope all are doing well. I have my surgery on Monday so please keep me in your prayers.

StephJim

Hi Stephjim :)
Good to hear from you. Have you had your hand surgery yet? Hope ur ok. Sorry, I can't help with your cycle question because I've not taken a month off since May and also 'cos my cycles are never predictable (never have been) so I'll be interested to see what happens next month (if I don't get my BFP this time).

Hi Steph
I used yo get my af on day 28 to the day. Since starting ivf it comes at all sorts of times. When I was off the meds my af would be a week and sometimes two weeks late. My clinic said that the meds are still in your system between cycles so it can delay things. When we were doing ivf dh took two weeks off work (had to fly home) to have his testical biopsy. This had to be done at the same time as my EC. My af was two weeks late so he had to take a month off as he couldn't take back his annual leave. It is so frustrating when you are not sure when she will turn up.

I hope your op goes well on Monday!!

Hi!! Just thought I would pop in ans say "hello" to you all! I am on day 5 of my Lupron shots and go back to the clinic on Wed for a scan. Hopefully AF will arrive about that time and we can start our Menopur and Follistim injections soon. The whole IVF thing is really pretty similar, except we had to cough up some big $ for it which is really scary. If it works, wonderful! If it doesn't, it will be really hard.

Well, first my college roommate gets pregnant, then my neighbor who I have become really good friends with calls me last night and guess what? Yep, she is pregnant! She was with me when I got the call from my college roommate telling me and saw how much it hurt me to hear. Well, bless her heart. She starts crying as she tells me. What a sweetheart. Of course, I am happy for her, but I just looked at my husband and said, "What are the chances it would happen for her right now? They have been trying for 2 years?". Oh well, maybe I will get pregnant soon and we can go through it together! :) This infertility devil is a mean one, huh? I will be happy when it doesn't hurt to hear others say they are pregnant, you know?

Steph - when is your hand surgery? I hope all goes well!

Su - Looks like you are hanging in there and off to a good start on this next round. I wish you the very, very best!!! Let's hope for a BFP!!! :D

MkDig - how are you doing? Are you starting another round?

Kery - HI! So, where are you at this point? Are you in the middle of another one or waiting?

I wish you all the best and keep in touch!!! Baby dust to you all!

Hi everybody,
We received morphology results today. They are very poor :( Dr wants that DH sees urologist. DH wonders why, but I can't explain him exactly everything. So we made appointment for the beginning of January. So long to wait :( Also, Dr wants to continue with IUIs in spite of poor results. However, it is 5th day of my cycle and I don't want to be rushed (although, the nurse told me today it was still OK to start treatment today). So we are waiting for the appointment and for the next cycle. I am praying for positive results in the future for all of us.

Hi elca
I am sorry that you are now going to be delayed a while. At least you are getting to the problem and they then can sort you out. My dh has the same problem but once he had a testical biopsy they retrieved only three sperm which were all abnormal. Don't let my result put you off!! I have talked to women that have had a bfp with dh's with poor morphology. Would your chances be better with ivf?

Kery, thanks.
I believe ivf/icsi would give better results than iui. However, our Dr is trying to continue with iui :?: Although I have given the idea about ivf to him a few times.

Hi everybody,
I have a question. I am not in protocol now. It is my 6th day of cycle, and I have started to feel nagging dull pain in both of my ovaries. What can it be? I hope it is not a hyperstimulation. :?: :?: :?:

Hey All

Post by stephjim »

Hey all. I am back. I had my hand surgery last Monday and was typing one handed for a while, but this site is just too much typing for one hand. So, I am back and am able to use both hands. The surgery went well and I am so glad I took the month off from IUI because I could not have done it without the Percocet, especially at night. The stitches come out tomorrow and I go back to work Friday, UGGGh!!!

I started my cycle two days earlier than I expected so I will be starting on the Clomid tomorrow for our final try at IUI. Hopefully final with a BFP, right?
I go for my ultrasound on day 12, which will be the 30th. The first time he inseminated me the next day and last time he inseminated me the day of the ultrasound. I preferred the latter because he was nice enough to not charge us for the ultrasound that time because we also had to pay for the insemination. He is cool like that, since we are paying out of pocket. So keep your fingers crossed. So we should find out somewhere around the 15th, if not before.

Tina, I am sorry about the delay in my answer to you and also about the people around us that just don't get a clue as to when is the best time to break the news that they are pregnant. Here is a major example of bad timing and just having that feeling like..Man, how do they get pregnant, but I can't?....I have a friend/acquaintance at work, who left to go do something else and then came back to work with us. She confided in me that she was in an abusive relationship with her husband of a year, but was with him much longer before that, and that she left him. She would ask my opinion, of course, I would say leave him, divorce him, etc. Noone deserves to be in that environment. She comes to me a month later and states that she is going to give it another try, that he is going to do counseling again, etc. Then a month after that is when I had my last IUI and I had gotten my AF. She called me to just chit chat and asked me how things were going with all of it and I told her that I had started my period. She did the usual song and dance most people do and said, oh it will happen, etc. and then proceeded to tell me that she had news and that she was pregnant. Woah, can you talk about bad timing and how about just push that knife a little further in my back, why don't ya.

So, I understand how you are feeling and I understand the how can she? questions.

Well, I am done babbling. I have not been on here in a while so I wanted to give an update and I pray for BFPs for all that are able to do a cycle this month. MKDIG, when does your cycle start, we will be cycle buddies right?

I hope everyone's ok. Steph - pleased to see you can type again. I think I'd have withdrawal symptoms if I couldn't get on here

Well just in case you were wondering the 2ww doesn't get any better. It still feels like 2 months again. Trying not to analyze everything but I've had a lot of cramps and niggly twinges this time that I haven't really had before. Only 6 looonnnngggg days to go

Good luck to those of you starting again soon and Happy Turkey Day to those across the pond :D

Hey Mkdig

I had surgery for carpel tunnel and my ring finger and pinky finger of my right had what was called trigger finger. Where my fingers got stuck down and I had to force them open. I got the stitches out today and am doing a lot more with it. It was just a lot of surgery at once as far as the pain.

I started my Clomid again today and I swear I can already feel the bitchiness coming on. What a day to start back on it, I am hosting Thanksgiving at our new house tomorrow and have been running around all day. So needless to say, I really wanted my period to wait until today to start so I can still have a drink to calm down. Oh well. I go next Friday the 30th for my ultrasound.
Well I won't be too far a head of your cycle Mkdig. I will keep everyone in my prayers along with myself.

Keeping my fingers crossed Squeezan, I feel a BFP in the air.

Hope you are feeling a little bit better Elca. You are in my thoughts.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

I was wondering if it was for carpel tunnel. What kind of work do you do? I am a dental hygienist and I think I am developing carpel tunnel. ( i get some numbness in my thumb and first finger). but I try to ignore it and hope it will go away!! I hope your hand is better!! I know what you mean about Thanksgiving, I volunteered this year, and its fun but really stressfull too! I hope we all have big fat bfp's for christmas!!
