Cornybaby---

So sorry to hear about the BFN   I remember when I got my previous bfn I cried a lot, then had a drink as well....

Hope everyone else's spirits are doing o.k. I think this might be our last cycle regardless of what happens and may have some Gonal-F left, 3 reponix left (from another cycle). I may have to donate them....

Anyway, Monday is almost here for me. I had cramps last night and this morning. My day 28 for AF is tomorrow, so don't know if they are side effects of prog. shots or a sign of AF coming...... My 1st 2 IVF cycles, I had full flow of AF about 2-3 before going into pregnancy testing.....

Happy thanksgiving to everyone and hopefully, you all enjoy your turkey!!

Hi Ladies,
I am ending my 2ww and I'm calm concidering i was ready to go nuts around day 3. I have my first test on 11/24, Saturday. I am 35 and didn't think i wanted to have children until I turned 35! It hit me like a ton of bricks. My husband had a vasectomy 14 years ago after the births of his two children by his first wife. He had a biosy done to retrieve his sperm. Everything seemed like it was going so well for me with the egg stimulation, retrieval. I just felt like i was on my way to being pregnant, no problem. They got 8 eggs, 6 fertilized. Even up to the 3rd day of my egg fertilization, my doctor said my eggs looked great, they were all developing at the same rate and he wanted to let them sort themselves out. I was sooo confident that i was going to transfer these great blastocysts! When i got to my appointment to transfer, the lab guy told me my eggs didn't look very good, that i had 5 and he recommended transfering all 5. My doctor told me he didn't think my embryos were that bad, he has seen worse implant and he has seen better not result in pregnancy. He wanted me to be confident and prepared me for the possibility of multiples. Anyway, that is my story. I've been so inspired by all of your stories. I have been sooo discouraged since my 2ww started. I was so sure everything for me would be better than textbook. I think something is going on in my tummy though. I have had mild cramping though my entire 2ww but i just realized my period is supposed to start tomorrow or saturday. AUGH, just so many worries! Is there anyone else that is in my situation? HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Congratulations to all the ladies who got positive tests this week!

hi Michelle,

Welcome! I can relate to your story, at least some of it. I am also 35 and I didn't want kids until I finished nursing school (last year). I've only been married 2 years and have no health problems. Turns out my FSH is high (12.5) and my dh has a morphology problem w/ his sperm. Our RE put us straight into in vitro (no IUI) because he thought with both of our problems IUI wouldn't work, but in vitro would be successful. First cycle went just fine, 12 eggs, 6 embryos, put 2 in, got a BFN. This cycle I am reading the boards and I took the suggestions of these wonderful people on here. I had 27 eggs this time (with mild OHSS) and they ended up putting in 2 blasts, and I got my BFP.

I suspect with 5 embryos, you have a very good chance of a BFP! Please keep us posted tomorrow!!! :D

Also, congratulations nicaliw and good luck Rosebaby!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the reply Grace! Any encouragement helps and this board has saved me over this LONG 2ww! I'm really hoping for a BFP tomorrow. I have my test at 8:30am. The office closes at 11, so I should get the call by noon. I'm thinking out of 5 embryos, I should have something! I am actually in the 28th day of my cycle today and no signs of starting my period, so i feel a bit encouraged about that. Congratulations on your BFP!!! Your u/s is getting close, that is going to so awesome!

nicaliw---

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :D :D :D :D That's sooooo exciting..

Michelle_1972--I can relate. Today is also the 28th day of my cycle, but I don't test until Monday-- a full 2 weeks after my e/t. On Wed night and Thurs morning, I had some cramping, and the last 2 days I've been going to the bathroom frequently--usually some of the signs that I am getting A/F. I would say that about 97% of the time I am pretty much on time--sometimes a day or two off, but usually between 27-29 days. But then my last A/F I was 3 days late. I am hoping that my tests come out positive and that I don't end up w/ AF. I've had 5 IVF cycles w/ 3 transfers. The first two I got AF 1-3 days before the pregancy test, so I am hoping that it doesn't come before Monday--although then at least I am prepared for the outcome. those times I was on the prog. suppositories & this time I am on the shot....

Rosebaby--hope all went o.k.

good luck kbat! hoping you get your bfp!

i remember chatting back and forth with you about the two RI clinics. i just had my 2nd chem pregnancy. i wanted to get some tests done, but the RE at WIH doesn't think that it is necessary. the next time, i'm planning on doing the shots instead, will take a baby asprin (if there is any blood clotting issue), and we will be doing an abdominal us to look for my rt ovary (long story...it's undecended as i have a unicornuate uterus...had only been getting my eggs from my left ovary...this time we may go for the other one, too - this was my idea).

i've managed to get a bfp both cycles with just transferring one embryo (because multiples would be bad). most of the time, however, i don't think that they are taking a very proactive approach. i think we talked about this before. are you going to reproductive science center now? if so, what about that do you like better? can you recommend a doctor there? i'd like to get a second opinion.

thanks ....and GOOD LUCK !!! saying some prayers for you!

Kbat - thanks for the reply, and keep me posted on how things are going for you. It's going to be a nail biter until Monday, but I'll pray for you! I'm starting to worry now as i am having mild cramping, all the signs that AF is coming.

Well, I truly thought this was going to be my turn. Yesterday morning I woke up and all my symptoms were gone. Today I did an hpt (11dp3dt) and it was bfn. I have pretty much given up hope. I just don't understand. We've been through 8 rounds and have had beautiful embryos transferred (this time 6 of them). I've had all the tests done and this time we even used donor sperm because my DH has high sperm fragmentation. What could possibly be the problem?
We are now going to try donor eggs but whose to say that my eggs are the problem since I am only 35.
Maybe this isn't meant to be.

Thanks to everyone for your congrats on our BFP!

Kelly M, I am sorry for your bad news today. It looks like this has been a long and painful journey for you.

I have my 2nd Beta today and I've gotta say I am way more nervous about this than the 1st one. I almost don't wanna hear the numbers cause I like holding onto the belief that I'm pregnant. I can't imagine how it will feel if that is taken away. So, fingers crossed........I'll keep you posted. I have to think positive thoughts.

Good luck Michelle and Rosebaby!!!!!!

kellym--so sorry to hear about the bad news

It's Sat. I have to go in on Monday morning. However, I am kind of nervous and worried about the whole thing b/c I definately have all the AF syptoms--some cramping on and off since Wed. night (should have gotten AF yesterday, but on occassion, it's known to be a day or so late. W/ progestrone also, it could be delaying it.) Additionally, I see some pimples developing and I've been kind of tired--all my normal symptoms of AF. So, I am hoping that these symptoms are not signs of a bad outcome....Kind of worried about the cramping part.... No bleeding at all yet. I was really trying to keep positive attitude, but w/ all these signs that seem to point to AF, it's hard to stay positive

This is my last try--mainly because we can't deal w/ clinics anymore--they don't seem senistive to our needs. We don't want to do donor egg and my dh isn't into adoption, so whatever happens is it.
