PLEASE GIVE ME HELP. POSITIVE HPT BUT SPOTTING?????

To you all you lovely ladies out there. I have just finished my 2nd IVF Cycle. I should have tested on my 14 day past embryo transfer. On my day 9/10 I had a brown spotting. (This happened on my 1st cycle). I felt like I was going to get my period any day so I tested and it was negative. I continued to spot throughout the week and didnt test on my test day as I thought I was not pregnant. On day 15, Sunday gone, I got a bit of a blood show but not really red, just dark and that only lasted for a little while, not enough to have protection on. Since then I have had nothing really. My husband made me do a test tonight just to close it out. It was a BIG POSITIVE. I am now beside myself because, I cant believe it, have I had a miscarriage because of the blood (but surely if I have miscarried I wouldnt have a positive result). I obviously cant do anything tonight and I am just really worried. Whats the chances of me being pregnant. I think I am in shock. Please help if you can.. Thank you very much

I don't know if Vicky77 will see this posting but just in case she doesn't I will pass along her situation. She started spotting brown and then some red before her test. She was sure it hadn't worked but she did a hpt to check. It turned out she had a faint positive. She still wasn't totally convinced because she was still spotting. But when she went in for her beta it was positive and continued to rise! I think the spotting even returned after her 3rd beta so she was on bed rest but now all is going well!
So, it sure sounds like you are pregnant to me! Enjoy and all the best!!

HI...Congrats on the BFP. Make your beta appointment right away! this is good news. I too had spotting and AF type cramps and still got a beta of 514!!! it can happen. my numbers are rising normally. good luck and keep us updated!!!!

just some comfort for you. I did IVF in September and at the end of the 2ww I awoke in the am to brown discharge and later turned into pinkish/red spotting for the last 3 days of the 2ww. I also did a pregnancy test prior to the spotting and got a negative, but at day 16 got a postive HPT and positive Beta. I am now 12 weeks pregnant and have had some spotting on/off since the beginning. I have had numerous ultrsounds, seen and heard the hearbeat and my little one is going strong. Don't give up hope, my doctor says this is not uncommon for people doing IVF. Good Luck.
