Hi all,
Just wanted to pass on omy observations after seeing a friend yesterday whose 3 weeks ahead of me - she's 13 weeks and I'm 10!
She told everyone right from the start - whereas we've only told those few friends who knew we were going through tmt. That means DH's parents don't even know yet!
Also she's bought just about every piece of equipment necessary or had at least paid a deposit! And whilst I was there her mum arrived with bags of clothes, blankets, sheets and towels! Whereas I thought I was doing well daring to buy a pregnancy magazine last week!!! lol!
Am I just being overly paranoid and cautious cos of tmt or have you all been the same?
Di
Hi Di

I'm exactly the same as you. I haven't really told anyone except people who have asked how the tmt went. Dh buys me magazines, but I've not dared buy one myself yet!! Everything they give you something free I throw them away - perhaps this makes me even more paranoid than you??

Each to their own, I suppose!

love nikola.x
Hi Di,

I only told people that knew we had been through IVF up until about 12 - 14 weeks (mind you most of our friends / family knew that we were having IVF!!). We didn't start telling others until after the 12 week scan - to be on the safe side.

It's so diffcult as you want the world to know, but you don;t want to tempt fate. After 12 weeks it's much safer anyway. Things still do happen, but it's less likely.

I'm 29 weeks today and we haven't bought a single thing yet!! Some friends have started giving us things, but we haven't physically been shopping! Guess we won;t believe it will all be okay until we are holding the little bundle in our hands. Perhaps having IVF makes you more cautious - after all, you've been through so much just to achiev a pregnancy.

Do what's right for you and your hubby,

Good luck - when's your 12 week scan?

Alison
Hi,
Nikola - was wondering where you had got to? I'd say we were as parnoid as each other!!! I've had to buy some mat clothes this weekend as I'm rapidly running out of clothes that fit me!!! THE magazine I bought says by 11 weeks I should have put on 2-3lbs - I've put on a stone since I started this tmt! I'm blaming all the drugs - am still on pessaries and taking steroids - so that'll be why ( nothing to do with the Greggs sausage rolls!!!)
Hi Alison - 29 weeks - you must be getting really excited now are you? I'm sure I'll be like you - not wanting to buy anything til very late in the day. It certainly makes you not take anything for granted tmt! Hope you are keeping well.
Di
