2WW/Empty follicle disease! Please Help!

Post by Tita »

HI! THIS IS MY 2ND IVF, MY 1ST ONE I MADE 3 FOLLICLES, 2 IVF & 1 ICSI, THE 2 IVF DIDN'T FERTILIZED AND THE 1 ICSI WASN'T GOOD, SO I DIDN'T GET TO DO THE ET.
NOW, IN MY SECOND IVF MY US SHOW 8 FOLLICLES, 6 OF THEM OVER THE 10MM, SO WE WERE SO HAPPY! WE HAD DECIDED THAT WE WERE ONLY GOING TO MAKE ICSI THIS TIME. SO UN SUNDAY THEY DO THE EC AND WE WERE IN SHOCK WHEN OUR DOCTOR TOLD US THAT 7 OF THE 8 FOLLICLES WERE EMPTY, AND ONLY 1 WAS GOOD, HE TOLD US THAT IF WE WANTED TO DO ICSI ON THAT ONE, SO WE DECIDED TO DO IT, CAUSE HE SAID THE FOLLICLE WAS BEAUTIFUL! SO YESTERDAY HE DID THE TRANSFER, SO NOW I'M 2WW, AND I'M VERY POSITIVE.
WE LOOK 4 THAT DISEASE IN THE INTERNET, AND IT SAYS THAT IT RARELY OCCURS AND THEY HAVEN'T FOUND AN EXPLANATION OF THE DISEASE.
I WANT TO KNOW IF THIS HAS HAPPEN TO ANYONE OF U? AND WHAT R MY CHANCES OF GETTING BFP WITH ONLY ONE TRANSFER???
PLEASE GIVE ME SOME HOPE!

THANX,

TITA.

Tita-
Try to think of it this way- after all that, you had a transfer! That in itself is a miracle! I was saying this in another thread, and I'll say it again: You only need ONE. In my IVF clinic, a woman was telling me that she had only one embie, and she was told to freeze it and save it for when she had another one so both could be transferred. She ended up transferring just the one and had a BFP! Stay positive, and good luck!

(Where are you by the way? )

Hi Tita-
I'm from NY, living in Israel with hubby. I'm 35 and have severe endometriosis. This is also my 2nd IVF, and they transferred 2 really good embryos. So now, just trying to stay positive during 2ww. I test in 5 days, so for now, need to pray for patience.

Lots of luck!
