I received the good news today that I am pregnant... I was told that my first beta 9dpt was 127 and my other beta 11dpt was 345. She said it more than doubled and could mean that there is more than one!
Does it mean we arwe having twins if the numbers more than double? I know there is a wide range in these numbers.
My ultrasound is scheduled for 12/10, but the curiosity is killing me!!!!
Congrats on the BFP!!!! I'm sure you and DH are thrilled! As far as the beta # goes. . .try not to read into too much. Mine was really low and I now have the sweetest set of twins. Some poeple have really high numbers and only have one so don't pay too much attention to them. As long as they are doubling, and yours are, all is perfect no matter how many are in there
Congrats again!!! Enjoy this special time because it will all be over before you know and your little one or ones will be here!!!

it really doesn't mean anything if its a high beta #. I had a high beta with last pregnancies and not so high with this one, which I have twins. Its not been proven.
Thank you Ladies! I am thrilled. I can't wait for the u/s. Will I see the heartbeats that day or will I just see the sacs? Also, my transfer was 11/9 - am I considered one month and one day today? I am so confused.
Gekasbaby congratulations!!!. I used the pregnancy calculator that is on the menu on the right hand side, and according to your ER date, you are 4w2d today and your EDD is July 29!!!!. Come join us in the July bump buddies thread!!!

Congrats to all on your BFPs! I just got my own BFP today after my first IVF cycle (I've had 2 failed IUIs). My Hcg level is 200 10dpt. I am thrilled and ecstatic and I can barely think straight b/c all I can think about is my pregnancy. That said, I am of course concerned about the high Hcg. I am getting my next Hcg level on Tues., 11/27. My partner and I have a little boy (Nathaniel) who will turn 1 on 12/10. My partner had him - she got pg w/him after her first IVF too (and after 5 failed IUIs).
I totally agree with the other ladies. My friend had a higher hcg then me and she has a singleton and I'm pregnant with twins. Statistically there is definately a correlation with high hcg being more likely twins versus and avg hcg, but like the posts say, dont' count your sacs till you see them on US!! I think your next scan will be sacs, but sometimes you'll be surprised by a little blinking heart - or hearts. The heart beats are seen around 5 1/2 (early side) to 6 1/2 weeks.
Enjoy the next 8 months

I had two high quality embryos transferred (8 & 9 cell, no fragmentation - whatever that means).
My doctor said everything is looking good and that this doesn't necessarily mean more than one, but how can it not? I haven't seen many women w/betas this high. Does anyone know more about this issue? What are the chances of the one of the embryos splitting and me having triplets?? Also, can, God forbid, this mean something really bad?
I will be getting my next beta on 12/4 and u/s in about 2 weeks.

Seltzer, not to fret. Betas can be all over the place. At 9p5dt, I had a 745 beta (I was 280 at 7dp5dt). I am having twins, but we thought all 3 of our embies might have taken at these rates. Just feel blessed your are pregnant (which I am sure you are!). Congrats and keep us posted.
Thanks for the consoling words. Oh believe me, I am THRILLED I am pregnant...whatever comes my way I will just have to accept. I was starting to worry that maybe the high beta meant something very bad (something wrong with the preg), but I found out my levels are in the normal range.

Hey gekasbaby...I do not know the outcome yet...my u/s is tomorrow (will be 7 weeks) and I am incredibly nervous. The third beta I had done on 12/4 was over 6,000, so it was right where they expected it to be given my first beta. So please keep your fingers crossed...of course I will be terrified if it's twins but just so happy if everything is OK. I'm just trying to take it a day at a time. My OHSS has been difficult to get through, so that is affecting my mood. And even aside from that I've been pretty depressed (I suppose from the pregnancy hormones, who knows). How are things going for you? Congrats on your twins...your ultrasound was done the day my son turned one.

I had my u/s today (7 weeks). There are two gestational sacs. One is fine. It had a strong heartbeat of 133 and its measurements were perfect. The other sac, though, had a low/weak heartbeat (90) and was measuring small. So they told me it's likely a vanishing twin, and I need to go back on 12/24 for another u/s. Thankfully, though, one of them looks very good. I am scared but doing OK, a little sad. I am terrified something will go wrong w/the other one.
