Yay! I NEVER felt the needle go in and it was easy to mix the meds. Hubby was helpful, too.
Yay!!!

Congratulations boo1! It seemed for me the first one was the toughest to get through and now they are a piece of cake!
Of course, I speak only of the sub-cutaneous, I have my first IM shot this week and am still nervous about that!
itsgottawork-
I think all of my shots are going to be sub-cutaneous, I hope I hope! Even my HCG will be sub-cut. A close friend of mine, who went to the same dr, had to do the progesterone IM shots. For some reason, they gave me the progesterone suppositories - that look like tampons, almost. So, I might just luck out with all small needles, which would be great
boo1-
Good job! The first shot was the hardest for me, and then it just becomes a part of your daily routine after a few days. Was it your Lupron shot?
hi....the subcutaneous are easy! i will be doing the progesterone shots next cycle (as my first two IVF cycles ended in early m/c....i actually asked to be monitored for progesterone the next cycle to make sure there is enough and my RE told me that i'd have to switch to the shots. he said the suppositories don't show up in the blood as well because it goes directly to the uterus....so, in order to monitor me, i'd need the shots....i guess if that is what i have to do, that is what i have to do. i am already nervous about it and my cycle is probably not going to start until january!
I'm on Bravelle right now, then I think they'll be adding Menopur Wednesday after they do the bloodwork. I also have to bring Ganirelix (sp?) to my appointment so I think they'll be adding that too. I just do what they tell me!

Congratulations Boo...i dont do my first shots until the end of december...but i go for injection classes on monday...i am seriously scared of needles so i am not looking forward to this part of the entire ivf process at all...BUT you do what you have to...good luck with everything
Congrats on your first shot! I don't start mine until Jan 6, but am a little nervous about it. (More over the possible side effects rather than the shot itself.) I have had some people tell me that the effects are less than they had with Clomid, so am a little relieved. My RE doesn't have a class for shots, just told me how to do it.
