Positive HPT But Hospital not going to do a HCG Beta Level??

Hi, I have got a BFP after my 2nd cycle of IVF. I am shocked though because I have had brown discharge for a week now on and off. My hospital do not seem to be too concerned. They told me to take another test which I have and it too was positive and they have booked me in for a 2 week scan. I am obviously still worried about the spotting but I am going to take a couple of days off and rest and hopefully I should be ok. Does anyone think I should do anything else??? Yours Very thrilled BUT very worried at the same time.

Angela, congratulations, i know quite a lot of clinics in the UK only do HPT, but don't worry everything will be fine. My clinic do bloods but as long as the number is over 50 thats it and you hust have to wait for a scan. Also bleeding is quite common and brown blood is old blood. i am spotting around every 3 days and they are not concerned, some of mine has been red, but as i have no pain they are not worried. i got to see the heartbeats on my first scan which was so special.

I also had brown spotting for 4 weeks of my pregnancy. It was not a bad sign because I had 2 healthy boys due to IVF. Brown blood is "old " blood so it isn't a clear cut sign of a problem like bright red blood is. Don't worry and congratulations.

Sounds like congratulations are in order...everything okay? Did you have your scan yet?
