Hi girls

Quiet around here today--all work and no play :P

Jen - Oh you poor thing, your head is saying one thing and the heart is saying another. Know what dh means about wanting to stop but it a hard decision to make. Me and dh would keep going but financially its impossible. Eventually we have to step back and try to come to some decision, although its tough. The only thing is that we can adopt and use money for our child but it will never take the pain away from not having my own child. Hope you sort your head out soon and your FET brings you all your dreams (Hugs)

Carolyn - Know you are struggling just now, am here for you when you feel strong enough to post.

Gill - How you doing babe. Holiday is creaping up fast and so is the 6th Dec--everything crossed.

Andrea - Rant all you want babe, here for you as your going through this tough time.

Chriss - Good luck for tomorrow, hope your appointment goes well.

Lucy - Nearly there now, you getting excited or how you feeling. Hope everything goes well for you. Look out for Dr Lois Zamora--he is so hot. I nearly died when he came into the room to do my ET

The good news of the day is--------Only a little bit to type on 6 questions then i will be finished my svq 4, wwoohhooooo. This is 2 months before i need to hand it in, its such a relief. I will now be abel to chill over Christmas and more importantly, focus on my FET and adoption process.
The application form came today so will send that off as soon as possible.

Catch up soon, have a good one girlies

Love Jen x

Can I have a DRUM ROLL please...!

I've pulled my finger out and decided to go straight to DE!!!! What a revelation - I feel so free now and feel a weight has been lifted off our shoulders!! :D

I don't know what it was that made me decide so suddenly but last night my DH and I were begrudgingly at yet another Doctor's appt, which happened to be running 4 hrs late! By 9pm, I had had enough and was grumpy, hungry and tired. We started arguing in the waiting room - DH got chest pains and walked out. In the end, we had to cancel our appt - both exhausted and p*ssed off with life and just everything. I think it just sunk in at that moment that we have both reached a new low and just want to get on with our lives now.

Yes, I think I will go through some sort of mourning process about not having a biological child of my own, but I know that over the last 4 painful years I have given it every chance with my own eggs and will find peace in that.

I have had 6 IUI's, 3 FET, 5 ICSI's - (I have an abbreviated signature below as I didn't want to bore anyone!) so a new cycle would really have been my 15th ART procedure, not to mention a laparoscopy in between all that nonsense! We also did some really depressing sums and figures we've spent $160K on all this as unfortunately as we are both working abroad we don't qualify for medicare, NHS or US insurance benefits. :? (Now THAT really hurt!)

Anyway, the plan is FET with DE in our clinic's egg sharing scheme as soon as Jan 08 or change clinics next month to one associated with an overseas egg donor agency, and we'll go from there!

The plan is to relax and enjoy the rest of this year and start afresh in 2008. I really hope next year brings us the happiness we ALL deserve, loads of BFP's and I'm looking forward to cycling with all my new egghead buddies!

Thanks for listening and all your support. (I'm now reading over some of the new posts at the beginning of this thread and it is helping me tremendously)

YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!
Andrea

Hi girls

Wow its quiet round here.

Andrea - You asked so here it isImage
Brilliant news about making your decision. Its tough trying to come to terms with not having your own child---i dont think i will ever get over that and how i feel so guilty for dh but i will maybe learn to live with it :?: At least you can chill now and i will have another buddy to cycle with in Jan

As for me, well another friend just had her baby, thankfully she is in London but sent me photos today, makes it even tougher. I just cant take the news just now.
Got adoption paper through yesterday, so will fill them in as soon as poss.
Heading off to see J for a coffee and a catch up, he got punted from his job and is on the hunt for another one. He want one so he has money for partying at Christmas----tough being 17 eh

Going to a friends candle party tonight-----cant be arsed but have to make an effort.

Ok keep smiling girls, its hard but we have to do Image

hello, just checking in with you ladies.

Andrea, well done on making a decision. I think it's normal to mourn the loss of not having a baby in the "normal" way but don't think of it in terms of it being non biological - how much more biological can it get when you are fully responsible for growing the baby? It will be your blood running through the babies body, feeding the baby and growing it. I worried and stressed about it so much and i would be lying if I said that I never think about it now but I am 17.5 weeks pregnant and feel 100% the mother. I just believe that my sister gave me the missing part of the recipe. Good luck to you!!

Love to all

Hello All my Fellow Eggheads!!!

So, I am feeling much better today as my new plan is in action. I heard back from my consultant and am scheduled for my trip to Czech for my DE transfer. Someone was looking out for me because there was a last minute cancellation so she said that she can book me in! I even know the dates - give or take a couple. Our first appointment is Jan 21st with ER on Jan 22 or 23 and then transfer sometime between the 25 and 28th!!! Can hardly believe it! Since I've been through so many cycles already they don't feel they need to do a trial cycle - they will just look at how my lining did in previous cycles and my FET and from that they are confident that they can get it right. I am so excited!!! I am now on the internet searching for hotels, flights, etc!! So, it looks like there will be quite a few of us cycling together in Jan 2008!!!

How is everyone doing?

Lucy you must be getting pretty excited about yoru appointment next week!

Andrea, congrats on making the big decision. I know that now that things are in motion and our minds are make up I am feeling very positive!

Carolyn - how are you doing hun. I know you said that you'd be off the boards for a bit but I wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you!!!

Chris - how did your appt go? can't wait to hear how things are moving along!

Jen1 - yup, those baby announcements don't seem to be slowing down with my friends! but just remember that one day that will be us and everyone around us will be jumping for joy for us because we struggled so long to get there!!!

Big J - how are things going for you? hope to hear that you'll be back in Kiev shortly!

Gill - you doing okay? you must be getting pretty excited for your trip!

Rhallo - hanging in there? do you know your timing for your next steps?

Hope everyone else is doing well!!! Thinking of you guys a ton!!!

Boy, it seems like I've missed quite a bit! School and work have been crazy, but thankfully the semester is over next week and classes are winding down. It will be so nice to have a chance to breath again and just in time for the holidays!!

Carolyn and Kelly, I'm so sorry for your news. I can honestly say I know how you are feeling. Hang in there and try to enjoy yourselves and your familes over the holidays.

Big hugs to everyone else out there! It looks like January is going to be a busy month. I don't have my dates yet, but it will probably be around the 20th. BFPs all around in 2008! Off to bed, lots of homework due to do this weekend and I really need to sleep!

Popping back for a quick hi before the weekend carries us all away..

Jen1D - thanks for the much needed chin up! and Jen B for the official glittery pink welcome!

I think it's just the age we're all at when everyone around you seems to be 'announcing' their imminent arrivals... Three of my (best) friends are due Jan, Feb and March next year. And my dad just broke the news that my SIL is expecting (again) in May... Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased that my spoilt brat niece (who actually is a total sweetie) will be finally getting a sibling, but my SIL is the same age as me and gets pregnant at the drop of a hat - like everybody else! Anyway, I'm having a lot of fun shopping for baby gifts right now, cos I'm starting to pick out things that I would like to have myself eventually... (Kind of dangerous, ya think??!!)

Anyway, I'm off this weekend to a friends "I'm getting a divorce" party!! She's coping remarkably well, and it just goes to show that everyone has their own problems and struggles in life and we're all just trying to do the best we can in life. DH also has some colleagues/ friends in town from UK, so in true form, it will be a real boozer of a weekend (not to be stereotypical in any way...)!!

RebeccaJ - Congrats on your twins!! What a lovely sister you must have to donate her eggs. Thnx for the encouragement.

Kelly - Things are moving fast for you! Is this your first DE too? Yep - we could be FET cycle buddies together in Jan if my egg share comes through next month! - Yay!!

Hi to Chriss, Carolyn, BigJ - still getting to know a few others around here but to everyone -
HAVE A FABULOUS WEEKEND!

Hi there.

It’s very quiet around here. Hope that means everyone has been enjoying the pre-Christmas activities and forgetting all those other worries, big or small.

JenB – hope you and DH are feeling better for having a fun weekend with your sis and her family. I’ve written on the over 40s thread too. Glad to know you have a schedule from IM to work on and can relax over Christmas.

Kelly – it’s not fair that your clinic has been treating you so badly. But you can put all that behind you now and focus on your new DE cycle. So pleased for you that it’s falling into place already.

Jen1 – amazing that you’ll be getting your studying done and out of the way well ahead of time. Well done. You can now concentrate on YOU and chill over Christmas. How are you getting on with the adoption paper?

Andrea – glad to see you so positive again.

Lucy – looking forward to hearing all about your 1st appointment. Good luck!

Carolyn – any news from IM about how to proceed? Thinking of you and hoping you’re not having to work too hard.

For everyone else I missed – sending you lots of love – and hope you are doing well!

As of today I’m officially on my transfer cycle. AF arrived as predicted, injections are going OK, work is not too hectic, no business travels to interfere so really I have no excuse not to have a PMA, have I? I’m sort of relieved but can’t really get too excited about it at the moment. My 1st lining scan is Monday 10th so I’m taking it from there.

Looks like the start to 2008 is going to be an exciting time and we need a whole lot more BFPs so keeping thinking positive.

Take care everyone.

Love

Dear Ladies

Have been very busy and also not had much time/energy to think about tmt. Been thinking of all of you. Time for a quick catch up girls.

Hope that you are all having a nice weekend. Thank you for your support.

Kelly - WOW. You have got it all arranged so quickly. Jan and dates already. I am so excited for you babe

Jen1d - well done you with all the studying. You go girl. Glad that you are underway with all the adoption paperwork too. Sorry about the mates and babies - we all have them and they seem to draw out the green monster every time

Lucy - so hope that your 1st appointment goes well for you. Do let us know

Sonia - good luck with starting again. Hope that your lining will be nice and thick by the time they scan you next Monday

Andrea - hope that your hangover is not too bad. Hope that you had a good boozy weekend

Gill - Have a great time in Finland babe

JB - hope that your dh is now better and able to look after you

Rhall - it will be Jan before you know it and think that you'll have a lot of company for your cycle

Hugs to everyone else. Hope that you are enjoying the run up to Xmas.

I am mad busy at work which is helpful. I have lots on socially in run up to Xmas too. Plus we have loads of people coming to us at Xmas which will keep me really busy too. Have only had a few odd things set me off and it seems to do it if someone is nice to me too. Find it exhausting though to hold it together when you feel like you are falling apart.

IM just told us that we were unlucky and that we should really go again before we have more tests done. We are getting the FISH test done on my dh as they can do it on a frozen sample which they have. We are at ARGC tomorrow to see whether they can shed anymore light on my immune test results. We then need to decide whether we will get the doppler tests done on me or whether we will cycle again soon. Not sure just yet. Always been keen to make a plan after past failures but now just want to work & focus on Xmas and bury head in sand - sure it is denial tactics.

Anyway, big hugs to you all. Be quiet again until next weekend as lots of stuff in the evenings this week.

Take care all and thanks for all the support.
Love
Carolyn

Hi Everyone

I am now back from Barcelona feeling very tired and exhausted. Did not realise how much this would take out of me. So much information to take on board. The Dr was really nice. We were at the clinic for appx 3 hours but it went really quickly. Is all I have to do now is wait for AF which will be sometime this week then start the pill then patches. ET will most likely be 3rd week in Jan but we also have to be there for EC as my DH needs to provide his sample. This I am now worrying about this as they only give you appx 24/36 hours notice. Do hope I can get a flight. :(

I would like to thank all the IM ladies for all your help. All the information I had re: travel, questions, hotel it was fantastic and made my journey so much easier.

They gave me all the medicatiion that I need but I do have a question about the pessaries as it says every 8 hours. Do they mean twice a day or say one at 6am then 2pm then 10pm etc. Reason why I ask is before I have only taken them 2 a day or 1 per day. :?

I do hope all our dreams come true for 2008. Jan 08 looks to be a busy month for all of us.

I will catch up with everyone later as have so much to think about and documents to read.

I do feel really emotional and tearful at the moment, not sure why or whether this is normal. Hopefully after a couple of days I will feel better.

Anyway hi to everyone and lots of hugs.

I am thinking of you all.
