I had my baseline tests today, and thankfully everything looked good so I start stims tomorrow! They estimated ER somewhere around 12/09-12/11 - it could be later depending on how my body reacts, but nice to have tentative dates. So it looks like I am on a very similar schedule to Angel and Pumma!

Pumma - I am glad things worked out and that you get to go ahead - and that we will cycle together! Same to you Angel!

Amy - sorry for the delay, but I am sure it will all be worth the wait in the end! I started acupuncutre a month ago and do it once a week. I had considered doing it previously, and I have read that it really helps with this process so I decided to give it a try.

Neffi - so funny! I live in Hockessin and work in Wilmington! I moved from Lancaster when I was young and grew up in Allentown. My parents went to High School there (McCaskey) and DH went to Lebanon High.

Back to work, but best wishes to all!!

Hi,

I am new to this forum and new to RE techniques. Cautiously optimistic at this point. I am a graduate student nearing the end of my studies and the urge to start a family hit me all at once. After 2 years of TTC with no luck, we started all the usual tests. DH has a low count, and the urologist told us that our only hope was ISCI. So...here we are. DH and I ran our first marathon in November, so I took birth control pills until after the race and two days later went in for an ultrasound and baseline bloodwork. I had a cyst (early follicle) and they started me on Lupron and told me to come back in a week. After a week of shots and a the shock of a really big box of meds, I went back to find that the cyst was bigger and the lining was thicker. So, I got a progesterone shot and was told to take Ovidrel to force ovulation. I go back Monday and if the cyst is not gone, I cannot start IVF until Jan 2. UGH. I already waited 2 months so that the marathon would be behind us and then two weeks worth of Lupron and such. Waiting is hard and my family doesn't get it. They always think they know what the 'best' time would be. Easy to say from their standpoint.

It is great to see that others are struggling with the same angst.
Melissa

Hello dear friends!

MLB Welcome!!!! I'm a grad student too :) Good to know I'm not the only one going through the IVF madness and writing final papers at the same time  Is this distracting to you? Sometimes I have a hard time concentrating in my studies just thinking about IVF, babies, etc. I have a tentative ER/ET first week in January. My problem is my tubes (one of them is really swollen and not functioning well, therefore our dr's recommendation to do IVF). Sorry to hear about your cyst. Just keep a positive mind and soon you'll be in the 2ww! You will love this thread...great ladies over here. :!: :!: :!:

LB congrats on the baseline...yoohoo!

Pumma: excellent! stims on Saturday...doble yoohoo!

Amy: so sorry to hear about your thyroid. My mother has a long/sad/painful history with her thyroid...she struggles a lot, and I have inherit some of it (mine is a bit bigger than it should be so I take thyroid hormones every morning...for the rest of my life). The good news is that you know what the issue is, just deal with that now and then your body can be ready to host a little one :)

Laglenik --Good to hear back from you! hurray for dh's sperm! and thank you for the prayers, we all need them.

As for me, AF came today!! never been happier to see her. I will start my bcp on Saturday

Talk to y'all later

Hi Ladies
Any objections to another member you guys have such an active thread it's great. I get so hooked on this site i like to check it out daily sometimes more so such an active thread is excellant.
I'll give you a quick run down on my history Dh 41 me 32(oh boy thats sounding old) we have whats known as unexplained infertility sometimes i don't know if that diagnosis is worse than being told you have something. any way we did our first full ivf cycle in April 05 which resulted in a miscarriage. December 05 on our 2nd cycle and after 3 iui's i got a BFP with twins we lost one of the babies our DS was born by c section in September 06. march this year we did a Frozen cycle as i had some embies left which resulted in a BFN and we are now getting ready to cylce in january i don't have any dates yet but it should be a mid month Egg collection and transfer and will hopefully have a sister for our DS
So good luck to everyone you all sound very excited about your cycles it will be even more exciting when we start seeing the list of BFP's for the ladies in the DEC/JAN which i hope to be included in thanks all hope to chat soon

Lisa: great news about your scan, i am so happy for you. i'll start my stims on Saturday. it will be great to cycle together.

MLB: welcome, welcome, to this wonderful board. i also had two cysts about two weeks ago, which become one this week but it's non-functioning so i will be able to go ahead with my stims tomorrow. my lining did look good on my scan on wednesday, even though the cyst measured about 25 mm in diameter. i'll keep my fingers crossed that your cyst is gone by monday and you can start stims in december. but keep in mind, you do want the optimal situation, so if they decide to wait till january it's probably for the better. good luck again and hang in there.

esperanza: isn't it great to get your AF, i hear you. congrats on starting bcp on saturday.

jomae: welcome to this great group of people and of course we all love to have you here. congratulations on your previous successful ivf, it's good to hear it works. i actually have a cousin who has two children conceived through ivf also. it will be interesting to hear what your protocol is like. i have done ivf in the US and in Germany, which was quite different. keep us posted.

As for me: i'll start follistim and menopur tomorrow, so i am pretty excited, but i am starting to feel a little nervous again ... :(

Talk to all of you later.

Hi all,

Welcome Jomae and MLB. MLB, Jan will be here before you know it. Enjoy the Christmas season. If it makes you feel better, we have had a year of waiting and not knowing where and when we were starting.

LB and Pumma - it looks like we will be cycling together. Wunam, you will be just a couple of days after us.

Esperanza - wow you will start soon too.

Thought I'd give you a quick update. Has my scan today and they said it all looks fine. The lining is about 3mm which they said is good. So I start stims tomorrow.

Hello to everyone else. Hope someone is spreading tons of baby dust for us all.

Hey you'll don't forget about me. I am busy so I haven't had alot of time to post but I am currently on BC and am scheduled to start my meds on 22 Dec. I'm just following the rules and hoping that there are no set backs for me.

Was supposed to start in Sept but was set back due to low blood counts (anemia). I've gotten that all taken care of so I'm on my way.

Just sent my $22,000 for my procedure under the Shared Risk Program (that hurt right at Christmas) so we are well on our way. Money can't seem to overcome the longing for a child with the new love of my life.

I'm always reading so lets keep the good stuff coming.

I'm wishing everyone here BFPs for the new year.

My ER is currently scheduled for 1/9 with transfer on or around 1/12. I just can't wait to get to the real stuff.

Good luck to all of my baby makin queens.
Me, 40 - DH, 47
IVF #1: POSITIVE - Michaela born 9/19/08
IVF #2: Consult on 10/13/09 - Start BCP Dec since clinic will be closed for the Holiday.

Good morning ladies,

How is everyone doing this lovely, cold morning (boy does it get cold early up here)

Pumma – Yay, glad everything worked out and you get to start stimming. I have a really good feeling. You, Lisa and Angel will be the first in our group to post BFPs !!!

MLB – Welcome to our group. I can’t imagine doing this and graduate school- it is nice that Esperanza and you will be going through this together. What are you studying? I agree that the waiting is one of the hardest parts of this. Hang in there--with the holidays right around the corner, Jan will be here before you know it. Our cycles will be close (I start stimming on 12/26)

Amy – So sorry about the thyroid issue. But I will echo everyone else in saying that we want our bodies to be at their best when going through this – Hang in there and keep us posted of what your RE will advise

Joemea – A BIG WELCOME TO YOU! We love having new members in our active thread. It is nice to have a member with a previous success story. Lots of luck on this upcoming cycle

Hey Doreen, nice to hear from you. Looks like our cycles will be around the same time. You are ahead of me by a few days. Ouch that is a lot of money, but you are right, some things are just too important to worry about money. We are very fortunate that my insurance covers our treatments.

I have no update – Other than I am getting really anxious to start my cycle – ahhh the waiting.. I had a/c on Tuesday and was in so much pain in my back and neck. My acupuncturist reiterated how important it is not to be stressed out through this process.

Everyone else, hope you are doing wonderful… We are supposed to get a big storm this weekend. Maybe we’ll get a snow day :)

Hi All,

Welcome to all of the new ladies!

Pumma - sounds like I am a few days behind you. My doctor is letting me start this cycle without getting AF. My estrogen is low and uterine lining is okay, so off I go. I'm putting my trust in my RE too. So hopefully we got some good ones  Getting freaked out too but trying to stay positive,

LB - your right around my time too...ER tentatively for 12/13. But I am an historic slow responder. I have a different protocol so hopefull I can do it on my actual date, yeah right

esperanza - I know I'm a little late, but hooray for AF showing up. I didn't see her but my levels look good so they said I can start my stims on sunday

Angel505 - GReat you are getting to the good part, stimming. Do you know what your lining has to be to start? My RE just said mine look good but no hard numbers. I was just excited to know that I could start my shots

washingtonda - That Shared Risk is the way to go. DH and I will do that next once our insurance runs out. I look the idea of hedging my bets and knowing for sure that I don't have to worry about what I thought was covered by insurance but really wasn't. Much baby dust to you.

Tali - I'm doing acupuncture too and I love it. My circulation is better and I have a ton of energy. My RE has several to refer his patients to but he highly recommended the one I'm seeing. She knew about issues that I didn't even complain about on the discovery sheet. Are you going to do it through transfer? I need to ask my RE because I have no clue.

ICSI GIRL - PLEASE HAVE A HUGE APPLE MARTINI OR SOMETHING STRONER FOR ME :D :D

Been out of touch this week on the boards. It is very active. So glad to see everybody at different stages. I went for my baseline u/s and bloodwork. I get to start stimming on Sunday! Praying that I don't get cancelled again.
