Angie- I can relate to the sharp ab pains on the sides. I found that I have them most often when lying on my sides too, but have had them during the day just walking about also. The day time ones were short-lived, thankfully... and I have resorted to trying to lie on my back to resolve the resting ones. I asked my dr about the pains and she was very reassuring. She didn't seem concerned at all. Hang in there and good luck in your move!

Thanks Hope - that is very reassuring. I've had them quite a bit today but I've also felt queasy too and felt a bit yuck. But when I analyse it, I realise it is the queasiness which is making me feel bad not the pains. It's so nerve wracking though....!

Hi girls, I just had my first OB visit. Everything was ok, although I am a bit disappointed to be honest . I am so used to being pampered and spoiled by my RE that this new dr seemed like she was not supporting me at all, I don't know, it's probably me. For example, at first she said, ok the next scan will be at 20 weeks.....I said "WHATTTTT ", no way Jose!!!. I told her I had the bleeds and that I really wanted to have a scan before that, so she scheduled one for me for next Monday........oh well...

Another thing, this morning I woke up feeling good, I don't have any queasiness and its driving me insane!!!!!, I want my queasiness back!!!!!!. Do your symptoms come and go too??????

Hi Everyone-

Vicky- I know what you mean about the impersonableness with the ob. I felt that way too. I was really spoiled by my ivf dr/clinic and now I don't feel as pampered to. I'm hoping my next appt will be better.

I scheduled my neuchal translucency appt today for dec 27th. I opted for that test instead of the amnio b/c of the lesser chance for miscarriage. Also I have to get an xray. My last chest xray for my latent tb (which means of the antibodies and are sleeping, don't have the actual disease) is a bit over a year old so they want me to have a new one done. I'm freaking b/c I think xrays during pregnancy are bad. I've done some research and they are saying its ok during the second trimester. Any thoughts? Also they(dr office not dr) said if I didn't have it done they coudl quarentine me from the babies when they are born. Is that true? Can they do that? I'm like totally freaking!

Waiting 'til 20 weeks Vicky - OMG - that's ridiculous! I thought everyone had to have a 12 week one. Mine next one is in 3 weeks ( which will be the 12 week scan) - its results are combined with a blood test I have next week . At my age, it is common to test for Downs. Kimberli - I hope I do not have to have the amnio or CVS either. I will only have this done if the earlier tests give not so good results, as, as you say, there is a chance of miscarriage.

What's everyone else doing re the testing? - it's so hard to know what to do.

As for the symptons, Vicky you and I are definitely in sync! Today I feel pretty good too - bbs less sore, not so queasy. Perhaps it was due to my day off yesterday when I took it easy but I agree, when you feel good, you want to feel bad again!

My symptoms have done that my whole pregnancy! One day I feel horrible and the next I feel OK. It's weird! I don't like feeling bad but I like the reassurance of having them to feel pregnant.

My OB/GYN has been my doctor for years. I hope she doesn't disappoint me now that I am pregnant. I have an appt with her on Monday.

Just wondering if I could join you? I'm a bit scared to be honest to post on this thread. I am seriously petrified that something will go wrong, but I know I am in good hands here and we all go through the same worries!

My name's Dexter and I've been around for about a year on this forum. This was my 4th IVF attempt. 2 fresh / 2 frozen cycles. This was my 2nd FET and we transferred 2 x 5 day blasts. Both grade 2. Anyways, I got my first beta 15dpo at 250 and today at 21 dpo I have come in at 6000 and something!! The nurse kind of joked that it's higher than average and it could be 2?? Anyone else in a similar boat? Geez, I'm thrilled to get this far but why after 5 years TTC nothing has worked and then the only time they put back 2, both take? I'm baffled I took it upon myslef to take 50mg of baby aspirin which was a bit naughty and today I told the nurse and she told me to stop taking it immediately as it can cause miscarriage..?? I'm confused. I know I've had tests done and nothing has come back to suggest a blood clotting disorder but I still don't know!

OK, hopefully I can stay with you guys and make it over the 12 week hurdle. I think I'll start to relax when I get to 14 weeks. I have my scan on Dec 13th. I will be 7 weeks then.

Can't help on the aspirin Q , sorry - my IVF dr was against it when I mentioned it once to him but I have read about lots of girls on this board being presribed it too....but I guess if the nurse says stop now, then you should...

I have been taking baby aspirin and Lovenox since my transfer. I do have the blood clotting disorder and was told I would need to take it my whole pregnancy.

I know of a lot of girls on here who takes baby aspirin.

Your numbers look really good so you just relax and enjoy your pregnancy. I know that is easier said than done as I don't follow my own advice!!!

Welcome Dexter!!!, this was also my 4th attempt, so it seems like 4th its charm for us . Your numbers are great, keep us posted!!!. I am not sure about the aspirin, I heard different things about it, but definitely lots of girls here take it during their whole pregnancy, but they take baby aspirin, were you taking baby aspirin?. I will add you to our list!!

Angie....I am so glad you are in sync with me, it gives me reassurance that things are ok!!. Yesterday night I had some queasiness back, also this morning, so we'll see how it behaves . About testing, I asked my OB yesterday about the nuchal test (I am with you, I wouldn't have the amnio done unless I have history of genetic disorders, which I don't) and she started saying that at my age it is not really done, only after 35, blah blah blah, so now I am not sure what to do, in a way I would like to do it to make sure everything is ok, but if something comes wrong (and this things are not 100% accurate) then I will freak out the rest of my pregnancy very very badly, so not sure what to do here......

Kimberli.....I am so sorry you have to go through all that with the latent TB!!!. I read that if an X ray is needed, they can just cover your belly with a protective shield and it can be done that way. So hopefully you'll do it, everything will be ok and they leave you alone!!. Good luck!!

Welcome Dexter! It's great to have you! Ref the baby asprin - I took it through my cycle, until the day of my first scan. My dr's policy is to take it until you can see the heartbeat in that first scan... I think that is my dr's regular procedure.

I know what you all mean with the phantom symptoms... it's weird. I know I should enjoy the days without, but it's hard. I'm going to try, though!

Hi Ladies, sorry i've been missing, day off yesterday and our internet at home was on snails pace and would not download the site.

dexter, Welcome, as you know i take baby aspirin but i also have a clotting problem. However my Dr told me they used to give aspirin to everyone as part of the treatment, but don't now due to new survey results that it is not the wonder drug they thought it was. If you've had all the tests and your clear with beta results like that i think you will be fine.

vicky, WTF... no scan until 20 weeks, i would go crazy. We get a dating scan at 12 weeks, and i will also be having the nuchal scan done around the same time, although i have to pay for this out of pocket, so a bonus one. My next scan will then be 20 weeks, although my consultant at the local hospital takes extra special care of us IVF ladies so hopefully i will get a few extra.

Angie, hope your feeling a little better, when do you move house? we bought our dream family house 3 years ago and moved in 21/2 years ago, and now we hopefully get to fill it next year.

Kimberli, is that why you have to go on bed rest at 26weeks? due to the TB thing? hope your feeling ok.

Hi to all you ladies i've missed, DH is mumbling at me to go home, so will catch up more later.

As for me, no more spotting, but feeling very sick today and don't fancy anything to eat. supposed to be salmon for dinner, but i'll see when i get home.

Thanks everyone! I look forward to sharing all the updates with you and reading about your progresses! Thanks for having me on board. I am eagerly anticipating my 7 week scan. How soon did you tell people about your BFP? We go home for xmas and haven't told our families (except my Mum) yet.. I should be 8 and a half weeks by then. My SIL is pregnant and I know she'll "tut" if I announce it early as she thinks it's too risky before 12 weeks. What do you all think? I've never gotten over 5 weeks before. 5 weeks 2 days today Cracking mself up now xx

Hi everyone!

I heard if you are over 35 that they do scans every 2 weeks. I definitely need to talk to my OB about this on Monday. There is NO way that I can wait past 2 weeks. I go crazy now after 1 week. It is just comforting to go and make sure everything is OK.

Dexter - we told everyone right away and I am very high risk. After 4 years of trying it was nice to get a BFP so we shouted it to the world. I have a very close network of friends and they have been with me every step of the way. So, there was no way I could keep it from them. PLUS, they would know something is up when I declined a glass of wine. I love my vino!!!!

Anyway, hi to all the ladies!!! I am glad everyone seems to be doing so well!!!
