March 08 Babies !!!

HI girls!!!! i'm at 27 weeks here tomorrow and babies are still in my tummy doing great!!! yes i'm still in the hospital, but the babies have reached two pounds( estimated by ultrasound) and growing rapidly. The best news is that on the recent ultrasound colt did have a pocket of fluid by his head and was "practice breathing". the doctor was also suprised but pleased to see " quite a bit of lung tissue developing". This all basically means that his lungs are developing some even without the fluid and should have really great chances of survival at this point. Bella of course has had her water bag intack this whole time and is doing well and has excellent chances of surviving from here on out. ( like 90 to 95%) i have contrations every now and then but so far i have been able to avoid tocolytics.

I'm so sorry i havent updated. I am not getting the email that tells me when someone posts for some reason. I am honestly on the computer all day pretty much. I tend to post blogs on my myspace page every few days and keep up with a lot of my family and friends thru emails. Please if you havent heard from me and start wondering go to www.myspace.com/dixigal98. I can't believe i havent updated yall in so long! shame on me. your support and prayers mean the world to me.

I am so glad we have all made it this far!!!!! I am so proud of all of us. You all take it easy and get plenty of fluids and rest! WE are almost there!!!
I reached my goal of thanksgiving and have set a new goal of christmas LOL. The weekend before christmas is 30 weeks. so i'm guess i'll spend not only halloween, and thanksgiving in the hospital, but possibly christmas , new years , and if i'm REALLY lucky my birthday LOL.

Dixie- I'm not getting the reminder of a new post either, so I didn't realize that people have been posting. I'm so happy for you and the twins. My husband just asked if you were still doing okay, so I checked and I'm so glad I did. You are doing great!! Way to go!!! Keep it up and you'll make it full term- HAHA!! But, seriously, you might. Keeping everything crossed for you.

heck jen, i plan on santa visiting us in the hospital this year LOL. At this point i'm just plain determined that since i have made it this far that i'm gonna try to get to at least 30 weeks... There are three days that i'm planning on having my babies on..... lol..
1) christmas day, because what a wonderful way to celebrate their lives ?
or
2) Jan 4th in honor of my grandmother's birthday who was also a preemie at just over 2 pounds in 1923. so tiny she was brought home in a cigar box and not expected to live. She is now 85 going strong and has nine children of her own.
or
3) jan13th... my twin sis and my birthday!!!!!
okay so i realize i can't actually make them be born on one of those days...... BUT The docs will do a c section if i make to to 33 or 34 weeks and thats pretty close to jan 13 th.

I am just giddy with the fact that i have come this far and that my babies have a huge chance to make it now. six weeks ago my chances of getting here were pretty much zero. Whooo hooo thank God I believe that the odds can be beaten!!!!!!

That's so sweet about your grandmother. My husband's grandfather was a twin and he and his sister were born weighing 5lbs together in 1906. They were put in a shoe box and their mother would turn on the oven, let it warm up, and then turn it off and put the twins in there to "finish baking" as grandad used to say. He lived to be 98!! I hope your little guys do as well as all these "old timers"!!

hello ladies!! sorry i havent been on much but believe me when i say i HAVE NOT forggoten about you all! first and formost dixi you are in my prayers and i pray your lil ones keep growing strong you are in my thoughts and prayers. as for me i havent been on in a while i have had some issues with preterm labor its my nitemare all over again its around this time that we lost our twin boys 3yrs ago but this lil one is hangin on strong ive been off and on bedrest since we started the whole ivf procedure in june, now im back on it permanently. but i feel him kicking all the time if i havent told you all m having a boy due march 11th and we have just about everthing for him. so i just wanted to update you all and wish you ll HAPPY HOLIDAYS i wil be 26wks mon!! and i hope all you ladies are doing well!!!

Brandi- Hang in there!!! I'm so sorry about your losses three years ago, but hopefully, this little boy will wait a while longer to make his entrance into the world. Are you on strict bedrest, or can you pitter around the house? I am keeping everything crossed for you. I know you are doing everything you can and hopefully he will stay put!!! Keep us posted.

Great news! Glad to hear all is progressing for you and sounds like your babies are safe now. I will pray for you to make it to Christmas. What a year this has been for you.

Brandi,

Glad to hear you have made it to 26 weeks. Sounds like you are just about in the "safety zone" with your little boy. All that kicking is so encouraging too. Sorry to hear you have been on so much bedrest, but it won't be long until your little boy is in your arms and then you will want to be resting in bed!

I am not sure how often I will be on this board (busy month) so Happy Holidays to all of you and hope all your babies continue to grow safe and healthy.

Brandi, i'm sorry your stuck on bedrest .. i'm sure the anxiety is trying to overwhelm you but just hang in there. Your doing great and just keep staying positive as much as possible!

Well here's my update. I had shooting stomach pains Sunday evening well into Monday afternoon. I called my OB because it was getting worse and I could not walk. He told me to come into the ER at my hospital for some tests.

We spent seven hours at the hospital to find that I had either a bad case of gas or some kind of food born illness. It was not pleasant at all. Once it passed all become normal again. I just have to watch my diet just a little closer and stay away from fatty, rich foods. Thank goodness it wasn't anything more serious.

I had a pregnancy massage last night and let me tell you, if you can do this, I highly suggest it. It felt great and relaxed every bit of me. Just make sure the massage therapist specializes in pregnancy massage. I treat myself to this each trimester and it makes a world of a difference.

I'm glad everything went fine with your ER visit. That must've been scary not knowing what's going on. I've always wondered about those pregnancy massages. I'm thinking I'll need one too.

BTW, is anybody doing cord blood banking? How much do they cost and what company?

hey guys just wanted to check in with you and let you guys know how i was doin, i had my 27wk check up on mon and did the glucose screening and all came out ok on that i have been put back on progesterone shots along with trebutaline pills to stop the contractions hopeully this all works! this bedrest crap is for the birds along with these contractions. i dont know how im gonna do this my doc had informed me that she wont do a epidural unless i have to have csection becasue at this point wilth all the complications she doesnt want the labor to slow down once it starts so it sounds like i will be having natural labor!! ive been praying that this lil guy stays in there at least until late jan to feb hes already in the head down position according to the last ultrasound but my cervix hasnt changed which is good i have been seen by this specialist every 2 wks since sept and its going to stay that way apparently but im ok with that but all is well and just wanted to check in with you guys and see how everyone is doing hope all is well!!!

WELCOME TO THE THIRD TRIMESTER!!!!!!!

Wow im officially 7months today! its amazing to know that the home stretch is almost done. i saw my doc today for my 28wks check up and all is well my lil guy is still head down in my pelvis and eveerything looks good! i go for my growth ultrasound next week, i was told that when i hit 34wks she will take me off all the pre-term labor prevention medication, and she will also take me off bedrest and i will be ale to resume normal activities!! WOOHOO thats music to my ears. i asked her today what all to expect and when to come in when i go into labor and she explained it to me and told me what to look for and what not, i asked will they be inducing me at all, and she told me we will take it as it happens, but if my lil guy has not made his appearance by 38wks she will start the "eviction proces" hahah which i think means she will try and get me into labor she doesnt want to much stress to be put on him or me for that matter so he may be more towards the end of feb, but he will def be here before march 11th from the sounds of it which im ok with hes healthy and hes doing really well. im still not out of the "danger zone" as she calls it until 32 wks but im just glad we have made it this far, i didnt get this far with the boys, i lost them at 6 months, so to be here where i am right now, i must say im truly blessed and damn happy! so after the holidays i will be off meds and seen weekly to every 2wks and then hopefully soon my gorgeous lil man will be here. you know i will keep you all updated no worries on that!
