Kelly, I'm just like you on the worry front - I think it's a symptom of IVF - we invest so much into having children that the worry is constant - from treatment, to ER, ET, 2WW and then the next 30+ weeks. I'm sure none of us will stop even when the little one's are in our arms! This weeks worry for me is my size as everyone keeps saying how small I am. Normally this would be something I would be happy about but I've managed to turn this into my next panic! I went to buy a new bra on Friday evening and the girl helping me went on and on about how my bump was even too small for a singleton at 17.5 weeks. I don't think she meant it in a bad way but it's scared me and I'm now desperate to see my OB to check that they're both still doing OK.

Cocoa, on the 'doing it' front, I'm afraid I'm with Vlada. I was put on pelvic rest by the doctor because of the blood clot so it's been a no go zone!! I have to say that I miss it but most of the time am far too exhausted to think about it! my DH is being a star about it and actually told me that he would be worried about the babies if we were at it like rabbits!!

Apart from having "small-bump-syndrom" I'm doing really well, tons mopre energy and the sickness has almost gone. I never thought i would feel human again!! I think I felt one of the babies move this week which was cool although I have to say that I'm not 100%!

I have my big scan on Wednesday so will be a lot happier when I see the babies again. We're not finding out the sex so it's going to be hard not to try and scrutinise the screen!!

One great purchase I made this week is a Bopper pillow. It's fab and I had a great nights sleep last night - well worth the money.

Re. strollers, I too want a side by side although I did see a make called Zoom introduce a very cool looking stoller in Europe which does everything so if they introduce it into the US I may be tempted. I would like one which will accomodate the car seats too.

Happy Sunday everyone!!

Hi Kelly!

Welcome and I am glad you decided you would like to post and keep us up-to-date...

I too was feeling REALLY insecure for a long time. I was so sure I wouldn't hear a HB at each OB visit...but they babies are growing strong and I am feeling them over the last couple of days like never before! I too won't feel completely excited and secure until they are in my arms and breathing well...

I think you meant to say that its the BFN (big fat Negatives) that saddens you... I typ-o a lot too at times (depends on how tired or not I am).

You are going to be just fine now that you've made it to 14 weeks... Its just meant to be my dear!

We're a great bunch so stay on-line and keep us informed. Do you have a level II U/S scheduled yet? Mine is Dec 10th and I will find out the genders (assuming the babies cooperate :) )

Take care sweetie...

Hey Rebecca...

Don't worry about the "small bump 'syndrome'" If this is your first baby its VERY normal to be small and even if its not your babies could be sitting deep inside your abdomen. If you feel kicking against your intestines then you know your babies are deep...

As far as strollers - I too prefer the side-by-side and I put the Combi Twin on my registry. I checked it out in the store and its not too wide and says it WILL fit through all doors. It also holds a car seat but unfortunately not two (a result of it being more narrow). It also needs cup holders but they can be bought separately and attached to the handle. It seems you have to give up something to get something and this one is light weight, easy to fold and maneuver too - hence my choice. I did put a jog stroller down too but it was really tough finding one with a swivel front wheel that wasn't $500 but I did it...

Good Luck with your resgistries... its time to start that if you haven't already... have fun!

Hello Ladies,
Rebecca,
Don't worry about your size, I am over 18 weeks and nobody can tell that I am pregnant, only if i was wearing a bikini, my belly looks like I just eat a lot. It is very very normal with first baby(s). I think doctors start worrying if you are not putting enough weigth after 20 weeks , so untill then you are fine.
I am so excited that you guys can feel your babies. Mine is hiding somewhere, I can not feel it at all, my OB said that it is way to early, but everyone else is feeling it, how come I don't? Well, I am not that worried about it yet, hopefully by 20 weeks my little one will start kicking.
I am very glad that everyone is doing great!!!

Rebecca..it sounds as if this might be your first (well 1st & 2nd :) Most likely you are smaller because of this..with first's you rarely show much at all before the 20 week mark...and watch.....by about week 30 - your probably going to be so big, you'll be wishing you weren't! Not to mention...the only person you should listen to about whether or not you are a healthy size..is your Dr!! I WISH WISH WISH I was in your boat!

Thanks everyone for the very warm welcome, and the reassuring thoughts. Being my second pregnancy, sometimes I think I feel that 'flutter' and it may be them, but I know it is too early for that!.

Early U/S is Thursday just to take a peek - but my Level II is Jan 11th - CAN'T WAIT!!!!! I just so badly want to know what I am having!

P.S. Cocoa..I updated my typo! Thanks!

Hi Kelly, nice to have you here posting!

My computer totally crashed last week, and went to the'puter hospital', when it came back, it worked for just one day and then crashed again. So last night I reformatted the whole thing, luckily I've only lost one days account, thankfully I had backed up! It took ages to do, but I'm finally back on.

I go for my next u/s a week on Tuesday, the 1/2 way mark! My baby is moving quite a lot in the evenings now, usually after a bath, but last night was the first time I felt it move with my hand, it was either kicking or had hiccups!

My brother sent a load of things for me this weekend, so I've now got a cot, changing table, a backpack carrier, little bouncy chair and a load of clothes. I did take quite a bit of it to the charity shop, as some of it was for 2 yrs upwards, and I don't have the room to store it all. I also bought a 2nd hand pram which is a 3-in-1 and is in quite good condition.

I am really wanting to get on and turn the spare room into a nursery, but Dh says its too early, but I have just got so much energy right now that I want to make the most of it.

Apparantly I am very big for 18+ weeks, this is my first, but perhaps its 'hoola hoop' weight rather than baby!

Next weekend I have the works xmas party in my flat, so I have got a busy week, to organise all the buffet, drink etc. I love doing it, its going to be a cheese fondue and tapas party (and chocolate fountain!). If anyone has any great recipes for fantastic canapes, please pm them to me! I just LOVE cooking!

Mandy x

I'm sorry girls I haven't been posting lately at all, but I am reading from time to tome how the rest of you are doing. As I can see a lot of twins are coming :D

As for me, I feel incredibly healthy and content (maybe I wasn't posting so I wouldn't jinx it or sound as I'm bragging). We had our ultrasound a couple of weeks ago and our baby, though very energetic, wouldn't let us know if it's a blue or pink :D We have another ultrasound (3D this time) scheduled for the 17th of December. I gained 8 lb so far and it seams that everything is in my belly; I think I even lost some weight around my back and even lags...

A month ago we started a HypnoBirth class. The more I know about it the more I'm convinced that I should avoid drugs during the labor. Teacher at our class is teaching us some techniques of breathing and the goal is to bring the body in the state of such a relaxation so the labor would progress faster and discomfort is minimized. Some women even don't feel any pain during the labor. My thoughts are: if I can calm myself to the point where I'm not panicking this class did wonders for me :D :D

I hope you girls continue doing great.

P.S.- Mandy, my due date is 4/10 and I have a singleton

hello ladies!
Can't sleep as I'm nervous about our scan later today - forever the worrier!!
Hope everyone is doing well.

Croella, I have a friend that just had a baby 8 weeks ago (singleton) and she used the hypno birthing method - it was a quick labour and she didn't even have an IV let alone any pain relief. If I was having one baby then I would be joining the class too - realistically though it will be a C section for me.

Felt Baby A having a wiggle at 3am this morning which was reassuring although her/his brother/sister wasn't having any of it and stayed asleep. It's going to be hard not to ask the radiologist today for the sexes but we are adamant to stay traditional and not find out.

will let you know how I get on later

love and best to all

Rebecca

Had a bit of a scare last night. I was sitting down and all of a sudden I felt as if I were being electrocuted and then this big bang (for lack of a better word) above my belly button. If I weren't so early in the pregnancy, I'd say one of my little ones kicked the holy crap out of me (seriously, the punch was stronger than my little girl in her last weeks in utero). I had a numbness too. Became very scared, but haven't had another incident so hoping everything is OK.

One more week until we find out the sex our our twins. YOOOHOOOO! Then it's shopping time just in time for the holidays.

Hope all of you are well.

I sent an email to Lisa P's personal email -- I have really been affected by her tragedy. My heart goes out to her. I can't believe this happened! I've seen enough situations (the loss of my daughter included) that make me realize that life is such a blessing and MIRACLE. Prayers go out to Lisa for her loss and to everyone else here for a healthy pregnancy.
