Hi
Must admit that I don't visit this site much anymore - just don't seem to have the time since Joshua bounced into our lives, he's coming up for 12 weeks now, but you are the one person from the old cyclers that I would love to know how you are getting on ??
I still think of you in my prayers, as I do all the girls on this site, but you had been through so much I want nothing more than a happy ending for you.
Would love to hear from you
Terri
xxxxx
Hi Terri,

Sorry I didn't reply straight away but I had my 20 week scan yesterday and thought I'd update you after that.

Well, everything is going fine - Jellybean is growing great and was moving about lots on this scan. I'm feeling 'poppings' but no definite kicks yet, but even so Les is really jealous.

Well, I felt like my head was spinning yesterday with the news that Jellybean is a BOY - don't know why after all we had 50/50 chance and we are delighted to be this far. I think the whole reality of the possibility of passing our IF onto a boy hit me hard if nothing else, but I'm not going to dwell on it and don't regret having been through the process.

Les was even more shocked. He now has to get his head around having a son and doing 'father and son' things. Les is sooooo not into football - he can't stand it. He apparently played rugby at school but only as someone on the outskirts (totally showing my ignorance here) because he could run fast if got the ball! He said he'd be bored to death if he had to watch it. But at the end of the day, we will support whatever hobby they have (just hope they like ours).

So we've been planning dancing and stage work - mind you also TKD and horseridding which are OK for a boy and Les has now added 'chef' to his list (something his mum and step-father thought was 'puffy' and wouldn't let him pursue) of stuff he's gonna teach his son. Still thinking of ballet - I mean pre-school it won't matter and if he's doing TKD/some martial art as well..... errrrrm, well anyway a swap to Latin American can happen at anytime and this tends to get you a 'babe magnet' status (so Les says).

Listen to me - we have his life planned out already, but then how long have we been waiting for this day :) . In a way I think it will be better for Les as less chance for bad memories of his daughter.

OK, shall I share name choice - or would you prefer to have at least one surprise? We have a 'pet' and official.

Wow Joshua is 12 weeks now - fantastic. Suzanne has managed to get on FF to post a piccy of Dan, and I would love it if you get the chance to do the same - there is a babydust board on there as well if you fancy chatting to those in the same position (and a fair few natural miracles on there too).

Hope we can keep in touch

lots of love Fiona xxxx

Fiona
Congratulations, a boy I'm thrilled and would love to know what youre gonna call him. We named Joshua from day one and it really helped us to bond with him as a bump!!
Scott is exactly the same as Les, can't stand football or any sporft really. When we found out we were having a boy it was "oh, OK what do we do with a boy" Scott could look forward to buying him his first pint and I could teach him to accessorise to within an inch of his life but we didn't really plan for a boy if you know what I mean, I could picture how to bring up a girl. It's so silly now when I look back because Josh is so much part of our lives already.
I am so pleased that things are going well for you, you so deserve it.
I'll try to keep in touch and figure out how to post a picture on the FF website...never visited that one but have heard of it. Technically challenged me but I'll have a go.
Pleeeeeaaaase take care of you and boy bump :-)
LOL
Terri
xxxxxxx

Hi Fiona .... hope you dont mind me butting in on here - its just that we're so close timings-wise - had our 20 week scan last week and ours is a little girl!!! I dont know why but everyone had said they thought our baby would be a boy so I just took it all in, not that we mind.

It's weird cos you have to put all the "boy" or "girl" stuff out of your mind and think of only one set of names, etc., but we are thrilled and really glad to be able to really feel she is part of our lives before she's here.

I am feeling "poppings" too - no proper kicks, just like you. On the scan she was moving around really quick and looked so well formed - little fingers & toes - absolutely amazing!!

I wish we could settle on a name so I can really think of her as being called something definate - have called her "Humphrey" for the past 19 weeks so "Humphreena" is the pet name now we know she's a girl but really like Rachel, Alice, Jane, and one or two more!!

Is this fantastic or what !!!????!!! lots of love - jo. Hi Terri and Jo

Jo - don't worry, everyone who knows me (and even those who don't yet)is welcome on one of my threads :) and I'm absolutely sure Terri won't mind.

I started replying last night and then had to break for a mini arguement with mum and it was too late when I got back :(

Well, In the event that Jellybean had been a girl (and the 30% chance 'he' still is!)

Official - Cordelia Naomi Elizabeth
Pet - Lia (old family name of mine is Leah)

And for our boy bump, as we now assume:

Official - Alexander Nathan James
Pet - Xander

Jo - you are so right about the scan it is incredible the detail you can see isn't it. Good luck on chosing names. We did ours early because Les liked names like 'Aloitious' and 'Marius' and I just thought we'd never agree <lol>.

Terri - I saw you'd registered with FF and intended to also send you an IM yesterday but I'll wait for your 1st post/piccy. I can't wait to hear updates on how you are both going on.

Lots of love

Fiona xxx

[Edited by fiona_lk on 10-Nov-03 08:15]
