Morning All,

Well I am up bright and early for a Sunday, I didn't get chance to come online much yesterday, well you know when you have one of those days where there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day well that was the sort of day I had.

Yesterday they come to fit my carpet in the nursery to be and my god he was so ignorant I could of smacked his face. He didn't speak and I was polite I even asked him if he wanted a drink and the answer I got was NO not no thanks but just NO. I went upstairs and said its cold out ain't it and he said YES and didn't bother. I just thought leave it to him, just don't take your mood out on my carpet. Well he done the carpet and I gave him the money and I am sure he was waiting for a tip but he would of waited a long time for one off me. The only tip I would of gave him would of been change your bloody attitude.

Well I have to say the nursery is really coming on the carpet looks lovely. Mom come over and put my pole and curtains back up and the tie backs. Kind of weird really I had the Barnaby Bear curtains and then in the shop they was using the Barnaby Bear pram rattles as tie backs. It looked lovely so I decided to follow suit and it just looks lovely. I brought the lantern as well to go with it, in the shop I didn't like it at all but I just had to have it all to match and I am well impressed now. I looked in the bedroom about 6 times already and it was only done yesterday.

I am going today to get some bits and pieces like nappies so that I can do my hospital bag up because you never know the baby could come early and I just want to be prepared. I know some of you may think that this is a little early but I would rather get it done now and then I don't have to worry about it.

Any suggestions girls, I am looking at buying a bouncer for the baby but one that plays a medley and also the vibrating one but our friends said yesterday get one that plugs into the mains because they get through lots of batteries everyday and because they are the big batteries they aren't cheap.

Speak to you all later.

Love & Hugs
Shell.
29wks 3 dpg
Hi Shell - you sound very organised with what you have done and seem to know what you want. Me on the other hand, totally bemused by the range of things available - why does there have to be 7,000 different kind of push-chairs?? We are moving into another bedroom and doing our room for our little girl so we're trying to get bits done here and there - we both work really long hours and when you're tired at the weekend and have other commitments too its hard. Still, we'll have it mainly finished just after christmas and she's due middle of March so we should be OK.

11 weeks to go for you - W O W !!!! It has been lovely this weekend though cos we popped into Mothercare (needed some trousers as really cant get into any of my current ones now!!!) I was looking at the girls clothes - so gorgeous!!! Still resisted the urge to buy anything just for the time-being.

Glad to hear you're OK. Love Jo. XXXX

Hi Jo

Thanks for the reply to the post it was nice to hear from you, the thing is I like to get things done so that if the baby does come early I have everything organised. I am sure you will get yourself sorted. I had to come to a decision with a buggy as well, I had mine from mothercare a travel system one which is really nice, they even tried the seat in my car and it fit lovely and they made sure the buggy went in the back of my car. I am just so excited I can't believe it.

Lou - You did tell me that you heard from Aileen I am so pleased everything seems to be going well. I am still waiting for her address could you mail it me please? I did send Aileen a mail but not sure if she would be online much now with the bab asking for her address it would be nice for me to get a card for her. I am glad things are going well with the little ones and it is lovely to hear the babies heartbeat it keeps us reassured.

Love
Shell.
29wks 4d pg
xx

Hi Di

I know yeah I am a worrier and I was worried sick when I saw the midwife last week and then she was referring me for a scan. I just think the longer I go with the baby tucked up inside the better chance the baby as. My stomach turns over now though Di would you believe when I think I only have 10wks left on Thursday.

How are you keeping?

Love
Shell.
xx

Shell

Im another organised one! Have ordered the travel system from mothercare although we bought it on the nursery planner thingy so it gets ordered and we pay for it, but won't get delivered until 2 weeks before the due date (and then it will go straight in to the boot of my car, because of the supersticious bit of me about prams before babies are born and all that malarkey!). We went for the Graco Mirage in the end, as it came with a matching cosy-toes, rucksack and rain cover and car seat base thingy included. then we just ordered a second car seat base to go in DH's car. Its a Bl**dy minefield though choosing isn't it! I really fancied the zebra print car seat but it it doesn't clip into the car seat base and means you hgave to go through the rigmerole of strapping it in every time you go out. Also ordered Herbie a bouncer chair in pale blue and lilac check which is very cute. I thought about a vibrating one but to be honest, because everything costs a fortune and we've only just gotten over the expense of the ivf, we're trying to be careful with the pennies wherever we can.

Herbie's room is bare plaster at the moment although Rob put up the coving at the weekend so it just needs painting and the floor laying -we're going for wood. Have bought all the nursery furniture from a friend of my mums and which is only 2 years old - a wardrobe, cot-bed and changing unit, in pine. Its got glass (not real!) doors at the top that you put fabric behind, so we're having pale blue and cream gingham check, and matching curtains with cream walls, and I think then I'll just buy some blue fleecy blankets and bedding etc to match it all up, and a rug for the floor.

Don't know if any of you have been saving the Boots tokens (collect 10 and you get a free cuddly toy)? We got Herbie the giraffe - very cute!

The curtains with rattle tiebacks sound fab - what a lovely idea.

Have you all been imagining what your babies will look like - I think Herbie is going to be dark but DH thinks he will have blonde fluffy sticky-uppy hair. My hair is auburn and quite curly and DH's is dead straight and dark, although he was blonde until he was about 10. As long as he's well and healthy who cares, but its just nice to imagine!

Lots of love

Rachel
x
Hi Rach,

Nice to hear from you, that was such a long post but I must admit it was lovely to read. I am glad your getting your organised I think its best to be honest and least you will have everything ready for when the baby comes along.

I am so excited Rach its untrue, my nursery is starting to take shape and I am sure yours is too.

I saw the Zebra buggy you was on about at Mothercare and I did like it but I opted for the black one with a little bit of red trim which as a temperature thing on it as well. I was going to have the base but to be honest Mothercare tried it and it didn't fit in my car so I couldn't have that. I have had to buy the raincover seperate which cost £30 and I need to get a bag now to go with it but I am sure I will get one in time.

I really need to get me some new pj's so I can pack my hospital bag and then I can get all that sorted.

The tiebacks I have to admit Rach are lovely if I hadn't of seen them like it in the shop I wouldn't of even known and they didn't do tie backs to match the curtains that I have had.

I am also on the nursery plan at Mothercare but I was having my buggy and moses basket delivered 2 weeks before but since everything with the big baby business with the hospital, they don't think I am going to go full term so I brought it forward to the 15th Dec. My Sister is going to keep my buggy at her house because of the bad luck marlarkey and then I will have it when the baby is born.

I do think quite often who the baby will look like and I just hope and pray everything will be ok because I never had the AFP test but I will find out in time, even if something is wrong I will still love the baby all the same.

Love
Shell.
xx

Hi all,

Can I butt in aswell? We haven't bought anything yet, but have collected a fare amount of stuff from friends - baby Bjorn carrier, breast pumps, steriliser and various clothes.

We're off up north this weekend to my parents and we're off pram shopping. Not sure how or when we're going to receive it should we buy it up there.

I cann't do anything to the nursery until I leave work on 11th Dec as I work at home and it is currently my office!! God knows what we'll do if it turns up early!

We've looked at loads of stuff and I have some idea of what we'll buy. We'll probably do it at the beginning of Dec as we're at my parents this weekend, then we're off to Paris the following weekend (via Eurostar not flying) as a last 'us two' holiday. Not sure how much site-seeing I'm going to be able to do though as I am getting very tired now.

Alison xx

Hey girls,
I have been thinking about what to get but haven't actually bought anything yet. I'm thinking of ordering in December and getting a lot delivered by Mothercare mail order as I don't fancy lugging loads of stuff home!

I'm in such a quandary about travel systems though - it's as confusing as buying a new car!!! We had found a nice 3 or 4 in one thing at Mamas & Papas, but then saw really bad reports about them on Watchdog, so I believe Graco are supposed to be really good. Can anyone advise on what to get as I am so totally confused re the whole transportation thing! I like looking at the different patterns but that's about my limit!
I'm having our nursery decorated at the beginning of December but feel a bit funny about having baby stuff in the house too early, but then I do like to be prepared so am dithering about too much I know, and need to get myself organised. Has anyone heard of lists to suggest what you need for hospital and for home as I could then work through and buy the lists!!!!

Glad to know everyone is OK,
love Sally (27 + 5)

Hi Sally

Its so confusing isn't it! The reason we went for the Graco travel system was because it came out as Mother & Baby Best Travel System award, also because it was really good value and came with the matching rucksack and all the goodies and also because Graco do the car seat base (which is compatible with a few other makes of travel system, but not all). HAve to admit I do get sold by the fabric more than the function though! DH really liked the look of the one we ordered - pale(ish) blue and black - although I liked the zebra and giraffe prints - which obviously cost tonnes more because that's always the way!

Re the lists thing - these are my favourite hobby anyway so have been having great fun making them and ticking stuff off - only a few last bits to get now - steriliser, monitor, bottles, and that's about it! The pregnancy book the hospital gave me im sure had a list in. I think also that there may have been one in the Bounty pack. We just went to Mothercare World and had a look at everything and went from there on the list front. I;ve been buying baby wipes, nappy sacks and all that stuff when its buy one get one free - whihc is always on somewhere, and then went to mothercare and got cotton buds, thermometers, cotton wool - just enough of the toiletry type stuff to last the first couple of weeks. (and also the dreaded breast pads and massive sanitary towels!)

Love

Rachel
x
