My name is Jamie, and I am 30 years old. I had a tubal reversal done the beginning of last year, and became pregnant last november. However I had an ectopic pregnancy in my right tube and had to have it removed. the dr that did my reversal said at that time, my left tube looked to be very damaged on the inside. My husband and I have been using a fertility moniter since then with no luck, so we feel it is time to start a different process.
I am wanting to do IVF, but have not yet started the process. I have been doing alot of research and wanted some input on what some of you have paid in total out of pocket for the IVF medications? I just need some idea of what I would need to put aside.
Also, is anyone going to the Davis California IVF Center? That is the facility I am looking into.
Thanks for any input.

Hi Jamie, Can`t really give you a price. Contact your insurance company to see what they will pay for. I am lucky to have no out of pocket pay other then 5% of my meds . I did ask how much my meds would had been with out my insurance I was told close to 3,000. I do have more meds than most due to some other health reasons. Call your insurance... I can not say that enough. I never thought they would pay for all of my IVF, and they do
I also had a tubal. Here WE are now praying for a baby. I was going to do the tubal reversal, After talking with my DR we both felt I would have a better outcome with IVF. Do to Endo, and cysts. I hope this helps you a little. I am in PA so don`t know any clinics in CA for IVF. Make an appointment and see what they offer and how you feel with the DR and the office. Ask the Questions you have on all the costs etc. They want to help you they want you to choose them. There is also some medical credit companys that offers low payment plans for IVF and other things. The office should have information on all of these companies.
I wish you all the best in this journey. . . Theresa

I think an average is 2-5K per cycle. Mine were 2,500 I think.
There are several choices for fertility pharmacies. I've heard about a place in the UK that sends meds to people in the US for less than most US pharmacies. I think their site is IVFmeds.com
Personally, I used Freedom Drug. They have a website with a price list but that won't be much se to you until you know which meds your doc orders.
Good luck!

Hi Jamie3777, I am in CA too, although Southern CA. Anyway, my insurance does not cover anything, so everything has been out of pocket for me. I ordered all of my meds from Freedom Infertility Pharmacy (probably the same one as Nicaliw). They are in MA. My cost for the original order was $2400. Unfortunately, I was a poor responder so I had to take the stim drugs longer than we thought, so I had additional expenses. In total for my first IVF I paid about $3700 for meds. I hear that Freedom does have better prices than most in the US. It really is going to depend on your protocol, but if I were you, I would anticipate about $3000 per cycle. Best of luck to you...it's a long and crazy road, but for a baby, well worth it!
