Just wondering if anyone has good experiences w/ any of the Mass. clinics? I am in RI. I have been at 2 clinics and I really haven't been totally satisified w/ either clinic for different reasons. I was at Women & Infants in Providence. Overall, I wasn't totally dissatisfied w/ them. I really wasn't happy w/ the doctor mainly--no bedside manner, didn't explain things, would tell me to go for 6 cycles then after 2nd one would tell me to start thinking of my other options--always did day 2 transfer instead of waiting until day 3 to see how things were going, etc. The hospitial was a little disorganized, but it usually got on the right track after I got on them. Like the fact that they gave target dates and that they were willing to work w/ patients if dh couldn't be there (would wait until they knew the exact date of e/r before making you decide to do back up sperm. If you were in a real bind, they would have allowed me to take home a car service)
I then switched to Reproductive Science Center. I really like the doctor much better. However, I am not crazy about my nurse. Also the place is private so more like a baby factory. The nurse forgot to call me the night before e/t w/ cycle #4 to tell what was going on. Had to page someone just to find out it wasn't going. Then for IVF #5, I got my period on a Sat and left a message at 12:30. As long as you leave a message before 2 pm they will check them and they are supposed to call you back (nurse on call). I needed to know what to do for Day #2 since my instructions seemed indicate that I needed b/w, u/s and start clomid on Day #2. By 5:15 never got a call so had to page again. Then for e/r, my husband had to be in court for 11 a.m. We asked for earliest appointment, so we could make it back to Providence (1 hour away) in time for him to get where he was going. They didn't give us the earliest appointment. Then we were going to have him take me up there so he could give a sample, but then hire a car service to drive me home so he could leave and they wouldn't allow for that. Also, I am not suppose to pay anything for this, and I was getting co-pays. Just too stressful dealing w/ place that didn't seem to want to help accomadate the patient.
Just wondering if anyone else has tried any of the other clinics in Mass and what kind of experiences they had and if they are satisified w/ them. I can't really travel b/c of insurance and husband's job, but going up to Boston area maybe a solution. Not sure if I am ready to throw in towel, but insurance will probably only approve one more treatment.

Congratulations on your baby and good luck on this next cycle. We have Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, so we are covered as well. Thanks so much for the info. Once everything is done w/ this cycle (still going to get more bloodwork onThurs), I am going to get a copy of my records, and then I think I will give them a call. If I have to stay the night up in Springfield, that would be o.k. It's probabyl about 2 hours away--maybe a little less.
I am glad that you consider give them a try... Yeah!! Blue Cross of Ma, tht is great that u are cover as well , you know is seen these ladies in different threats how they go thru so much financial "problems" to be able to afford the IVF treatment and unfortunetely sometimes to be dissapointed it.. so we are very , very LUCKY that we can do this without much of problem at least financially ...
Well let me know if you need a hand when you come down someone to talk to ...and may be we can meet somewhere if you need someone during and after the this IVF rollercoster...

Thanks again for the info. We are VERY lucky that we get coverage. If we didn't, then I don't think we would have even tried it. Before this we had Blue Cross of RI and in RI it's a 20% copay so it can still be pricey.
I probably will let this cycle run it's course. (I do have a positive beta, but all the numbers are really low and I was told that it would not turn into a viable pregnancy). I have to go in for more blood work. I would consider looking into this place after the holidays! By then I'll have enough time to regroup and gather some info I need. Now that I have been w/ 2 clinics and both do things so differently, I also know what questions to ask to see if they can accomadate our situation (i.e. what happens if my husband can't be there, can I get monitered down here).
Good luck w/ this transfer!!! I will pray that all works out well!
Thanks again for the info and good luck. God bless
OK HERE WE GO AGAIN.. I JUST LOST MY POST OK ON THE MONITORING PORTION THE DON'T REQUIRED "COMPANY" THE ONLY TIME IS AT EGG RETRIEVAL BECAUSE THEY DRUG YOU UP.. AND THEY NEED SOMEONE TO TAKE YOU HOME WHILE THE EFFECTS OF "ANESTHESIA" IS GONE, AND OF COURSE THEY WILL NEED YOUR HUBBY'S SPERM ON THAT DAY. TODAY I WENT BY MY SELF TO GET MY TRANSFER DONE HUBBY WAS WORKING AND ALL THAT I GET IS A VALIUM TO RELAX MY MUSCLES AND THAT DOES NOTHING TO ME .
WELL LET'S HOPE THAT A MIRACLE OCCUR AND YOU GET GOOD NEWS ON THE BLOOD WORK... BUT IF NOT LIKE I SAID B-4 WHENEVER YOU DECIDE TO COME THIS WAY AND NEED A SHOULDER LET ME KNOW WE ALL IN THIS ROLLERCOSTER AND ONLY US WHO GO THRU THIS CAN UNDERSTAND THE GOODS AND THE BADS ON THIS GAME..
TAKE CARE AND LET ME KNOW HOW THE BLOOD WORK COMES OUT...

Thanks so much for the offer.... I am really undecided. Part of me wants to do one more and another part of me thinks after 5 it's time to move on--especially since I have some difficulties working out the logistics.
I know that you need someone to drive you home b/c of the anthesia, but I guess where ever I go, I will have to see if they would allow me to hire a car service.....Women & Infants didn't really like the idea, but would have allowed it instead of cancelling cycle. This place won't allow it regardless.... Most places will let you freeze dh's sperm if they can't make it.
GOOD LUCK ON THIS CYCLE!!! LOTS OF BABY DUST TO YOU!!!
YOUR WELCOME ....
I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE CAR SERVICE BUT THAT WILL BE A GOOD QQ TO ASK ... I WILL ASK THEM MY SELF I WILL SPEACK WITH THEM NEXT WEEK I CAN ASK AND SEE WHAT THEY SAY... IF BAD COME TO WORSE WE CAN WORK SOMETHING OUT, WELL KEEP ME INFORM AND IF YOU NEED MY HELP SOME HOW OK....

Thanks again. One good thing that has come out of this whole this is that I found that there are sooooo many kind people out there willing to help one another out. It's very refreshing to see how people are willing to help each other out even when they don't know each other!!!
I know that I probably can't help you out too much, but if there's anything I can do for you, let me know.....
THANKS A BUNCH!!!! I SPEND 10YRS OF MY LIFE FIGURING OUT WHY I COULDN'T HAVE KIDS... MY LOVELY DR AND GOD HELP ON THAT , I WAS THERE AND STILL THERE.... I WAS BLESSED WITH MY SON THANKS TO THIS TREATMENT ... INFERTILITY CHANGE YOUR EMOTIONS, YOUR FEELING... LIKE YOU SAY WE JUST TRY TO THERE FOR EACH OTHER BECAUSE WE KNOW THE PAIN , WE KNOW THE FEELING AND HOW HARD IT IS GOING THRU THIS TMT WITHOUT HAVING SOME SUPPORT EVEN THAT WE HAVE OUR HUBBYS SOMETIMES YOU NEED A LITTLE MORE THAN THAT!!!
THANKS FOR THE OFFER ... JUST HANG STRONG , LIKE YOU SAID WE LEARNED SOMETHING GOOD OUT OF THIS JOURNEY .. I HAVE MET WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL STRONG WOMAN... AND AT ONE POINT OR ANOTHER WE ALL HAD GIVE THE BEST OF US TO TRY TO KEEP ON.....TOGETHER...!!!

I highly recommend Boston IVF. They have several locations and the doctors are so great (I go to the one in Waltham). My doctor has an assigned nurse and coordinator so they always call back by 4 pm at the latest. They are also open most of the eyar so you can have tsting done on the weekends.
The Waltham office also has the Domar Center where you can get accupuncture done right before and after your treatments (highly recommend!).
I haven't had a success yet, but I have special circumstances so I'm not sure if it will ever work for me. But I cannot recommend this facility enough! Best of luck!!!
Thanks, I may look into them again. I did look into them between #4 & #5 and decided to stay where I was b/c I thought I would be almost done. I should have left my current place earlier. But I just found out today that my dh might consdier looking for a different job--which means that we probably would have insurance covering 100%. So, my time may be limited.
I live one and half hours from RI. I did my icsi procedures at Baystate medical center reproductive center in springfield mass. I had Dr. Grow. I though they were wonderful and I went through 2 procedures. The first one didn't take but the second did- I am 4 months! -Good Luck -T
It is nice to hear from some one on the same boat, he is the Chief i believe from the reproductive and endocronology center , he is very nice like you said they are all wonderful and very compasionate when it comes to be sensible and understanding when it needed to,
I see Dr. Lynch who is now in maternity leave having a boy, She did my first MIRACLE Bog Boy back in 2004 i had Dr. Grow once , i Definetely agree with you on Baystate and We are Prove of it ... I also did ICSI .. )
CONGRATULATION ON YOUR PREGNANCY...
