Wow! A lot has happenend since I was on the boards last. So many positives! Congratulations Shari, 2nd timer, and LAIVF! Enjoy every moment of your pregnancy...and try to to worry too much if that's possible.

Unfortunately for me I got my AF before I even made it to my test date. This was particularly hard for me as I was so sure I was pregnant. I felt a lot of the same things I did when I became pregnant with my daughter Morgan. My AF was also late so I was convinced. So sorry Ros and all the other ladies that did not get a positive. Keep your heads up.

I also do acupuncture and I am convinced it works, as does the visualization and positive thoughts. There are studies that show that IVF in conjunction with acupuncture has higher success rates than without acupuncture.

Looks like I am going to take a couple of months off to give my body a break and then we will start our third IVF fresh cycle.

Brandy-
Hey, sorry to hear about your BFN. I know what you mean about being sure your pregnant and then being disappointed. I was so sure last time, and then got my period early. Have a relaxing break, and may your next cycle bring a beautiful baby.

Hope everyone is feeling well. Good luck, 2nd timer, on your newest beta.

Hi Everyone,
My final beta # is 1758, so it more than doubled!! I'm very relieved. I know it's just the very beginning of things to worry about but at least I'm over the first hurdle.
Brandy, was sorry to hear about your BFN. Hang in there. This was my 3rd IVF & I also had 2 FET's that were all negative.
Ros, exercise is one of the best ways to get over a disappointing IVF cycle.

Shari, Fiona, LAIVF -what do you think girls, should we tempt fate by moving over to the Pregnant After Treatment column?

Thanks for everyone's support & kindness through this 2WW.

Phew 2nd timer what a relief! You must be very relieved.

Not sure about moving over just yet. I have a scan a week tomorrow so if that goes well I will move over then. I am pathetically cautious!!!

Do you have a proper name. Not sure I can call you 2nd timer for the next 8 months (hopefully)!

Fiona-
I'm cracking up over your comment "not sure I can call you 2nd timer for the next 8 months" (LOL). I was actually thinking that same thought during my acupuncture treatment tonight.

2nd timer-
We won't care if it's a fake name, right ladies? Just hard to keep going up to the '2' each time. BTW, 2nd timer, soooo happy to hear your beta news! I had a very good feeling about it. To answer your question, I'm also a bit cautious about moving to the pregnant sections. I totally plan to be pregnant the next 9 months, but still something keeps me guarded.

Would like to discuss symptoms for a minute. I was feeling little pulls and flutters every day until now. Today, I felt next to nothing. My breasts are sore, and I am pretty sure I saw that dark circle around my nipples, and now that disappeared. Still a bit queasy in the mornings. The weirdest symptom- when I wake in the morning, it's a little hard to lift my arms- they feel very weak until I rouse myself a bit. Any comments? Anyone experiencing similar things?

Well, sleep well ladies. Later,
Shari

I sat here laughing for a while reading Fiona & Shari's posts. My name is Rebecca. I named myself 2ndtimer way back when I was on my 2nd IVF, so the name isn't even applicable anymore but it's gotten to be a habit.
I completely understand the cautiousness. I don't have my U/S until a month from now. We aren't telling most of our friends/family until after that scan. Of course I had to tell my sister & my mom because they know about the IVF. My sister started to cry she was so happy for me.
When my beta didn't double on Friday it really threw me for a loop. I think partly because the nurse who called was so negative about it. I was just starting to feel comfortable with being really happy & optimistic about this pregnancy, and I felt like all the air got let out of my balloon when I got that call. Well, on Saturday we went for a nice long walk in the woods and I had some time to think and I just decided that I can't let myself go crazy over every little thing. This is a marathon, not a 5K race. So I was in a much, much better frame of mind by Saturday night. The crazy thing is that the same nurse called today & sounded just as negative when she told me "congratulations, your numbers look great." I mean, I really had to pay attention to her words because her tone was very down & depressed.

Anyway, here I am, pregnant for the first time in my life at age 39. I'm really going to try to not read too much into my symptoms and just focus on staying healthy. Shari, I haven't had any pulls & flutters but I have had intermittant cramping, slight dizziness, & nausea -more at lunch time. My sister has cautioned me to not worry if some days I feel better than others. Hope that helps.

Welcome, Rebecca! ( )

Great idea, taking a walk in the woods. Any exercise can really clear your head. I don't even know when my scan is. I just know my third beta isn't till thursday, and wish it was before. But, as long as I'm feeling well, what is there to worry about, really? I can't waste my energy like that, which is easier said than done, but you're right, Becks, we just gotta pace ourselves for the long haul. About your nurse story- I can totally relate to that horrible negativity. For my first egg retrieval, I asked the OR nurse if I could hold her hand, and she said "Well, not very hard, I need that hand". She was a limp fish, and I started to cry right there on the table. Unbelievable, some people.

Again, glad you're feeling better.

Fiona- a special thanks to you for requesting that our Becky reveal herself.

Rebecca- sorry if I butchered your name. Do you hate nicknames?

Shari, you mentioned that you are still getting acupuncture. What are they treating you for at this time?

Rebecca-
The acupuncture treatment was the same as after ET. I guess a 'reinforcement'. He told me to call him in another month. Please G-d, if it's a 'normal' pregnancy, treatments are not really necessary. He explained that, for example, if G-d forbid there are 'early labor' issues, there are treatments which can stop contractions, etc. How are you feeling? Hope everything is good...

LeeAnne-
Good luck with your 3rd beta tomorrow!

Sienna-
Welcome, and lots of luck for a BFP for you!

Be well, all, and congrats again on the wonderful BFPs and betas! May we all continue to have healthy, successful pregnancies for the next 8 months!

Rebecca,
Hey, just checking in to see if you're ok. If you just need a break from all the baby/beta/IVF talk, I totally understand. Hope all is well.

LeeAnne,
Thanks so much for your kind wishes, and congrats on your 3rd beta! Well, I'm going for mine tomorrow, and it's almost as nervewracking as the 2ww. I think I will feel better after my first (successful!) ultrasound.

Good luck to all, and stay positive and well...

Hi Shari, Leanne, Fiona, everyone else...
I'm doing just fine. I've just been busy at work because I really didn't get much of anything done last week -thinking baby thought all the time! Now I'm trying to catch up with the rest of my life -work, getting ready for Christmas, cleaning house, etc. It's hard because I would much rather be just thinking about the baby & taking naps(I'm really sleepy most of the time.)
I want to wish Shari the BEST of luck on your 3rd beta although I know you won't need any luck. Everything is going to be just fine, but I know how much better you will feel when you get the results.
Leanne -Congrats again! Thank you so much for praying for me! I think I had a whole team praying for me this time around. I don't think my poor mom could take another BFN, she's such a soft hearted person.
I just made my first OB appt. I go in for an U/S on Jan 2. It feels strange to not be going to the MD until then, but also very very nice. I had a hard time finding an OB practice at the hospital where I want to go that's taking new patients. My IVF clinic has an OB/GYN clinic too, but I wanted a change. The IVF process has been stressful and I wanted a new start with another practice. But since I couldn't get in anywhere else, I'll go back to the IVF doctors at least for the 1st U/S.
How are you're husbands taking all this? Mine is very happy(of course) but already really nervous about everything.
Tennisgurl -I hope you're hanging in there with the 2WW. I hope you get your BFP!

Well, I better get back to work now. I can't take a chance on losing my job since the baby has already spent her inheritance just getting conceived!
