Sorry, my computer crashed and I am still wiating for it to get fixed. Using another computer right now. Glad to see all is doing well. Colins surgery went well. It was literaly 10 min we were away from him. He is doing so much better. Seems to be happier so I am glad we did it.

As far as napping, Colin takes 1 nap per day for about 45 min. He falls asleep around 10:30 - 11:00pm and wakes up around 7:00am. He takes his nap around 12:00. I try so hard to get him to bed earlier but he will settle down. I have once got him to go to sleep at 9:00pm but he woke up at 6:00 and was in rare form. I did not like the 6:00am wake up so I just let him stay up late.

Well going to look at pic on photobucket, it's been awhile.

Bye,
Angela

Hi All! Finally little one is down for a nap :D Last time I wrote she literally woke up right after I click submit! She has not been sleeping well at all during the day and of course it has an impact on the night time sleeping - being overtired...she is still 7pm-7am but with slight crying during the night because she finds it hard to settle down.

Yesterday we went to the childrens museum and played in what is called 'ocean' - for 0-5 year olds. It was great she could get into anything she wanted and touch everything without being told 'no'. She was all over the place discovering everything - she is not afraid of anything...Isabella even went into this huge, dark tunnel with a waterbed as flooring! I was petrified she would get caught in the middle and mommy with her big rearend couldn't fit through the tunnel  All turned out ok.

Still no walking - I am trying not to stress but I know she can do it..she must feel my anxiousness. Today we have a play date at the zoo 8)

hi everyone...

it's good to catch up on everything that's going on. kristi - so exciting about the boys taking their first steps. i can't believe you will be chasing 2 boys around soon - seems like only yesterday that i saw those pics of you guys coming home from hospital!

well, lucy has been walking 'full time' for about 3 weeks now, and it's not as bad as i thought. the park has become such a good outing for her - she loves older kids, and just walks over to them talking 'bla bla bla', and thinking that she is cool.

she loves chasing too!!! and she tries to act like you're chasing her even if you're not. if you get up to go to the bathroom, she runs away giggling thinking you;re going to chase her. it's quite cute...

i'm preparing her b'day party - just with close friends and family and their kids, there will be around 50 people!!! just goes to show how everyone had kids before us!!!

on the sleeping - perhaps i'm lucky (and maybe my luck will run out soon), but lucy sleeps for about 2 hours in the morning from 9.30, and about 90 minutes in the afternoon. i hope this doesn't change soon!!!!

good to hear from everyone - i'm going into the phtobucket now to check out pics.

Hi all!

Great to hear that Colin's surgery went well. It's horrid to think of one so young having to go through it but sounds as if it was worth it. Bless!

kritiA - I've said this before - do you have more hours in the day than the rest of us! You make me tired thinking about everthing you do AND looking after twins!!!!

Tracii - Isabella sounds so much like Charlie! We go to a local "soft play" barn and nearly every time I have someone comment on how brave he is!!

Bella - Lucy sounds SO cute. I can just picture her chatting to the older kids as if she's one of them!!!

sue - how's things with you?

Well, I've won the bottle battle! He really didn't notice the first night that it was a beaker as he was SO tired that day. However the following morning was a completely different story. He went MENTAL!!!! He just couldn't accept that it was milk (and boy does he love his morning milk). anyhow he finally realised and that was that! I threw all the bottles and sterilizer etc. away and it's been about a week now. He doesn't drink as much milk as he did but he usually has milk in his cereal and a balanced diet so I'm not worried. Just make sure he has lots of fluids in the day!
Yeah!!! Can't believe I did it - have been dreading that part for some reason!

Anyhow we had the MMR jab yesterday. He was not a happy bunny with us at all but big smiles this morning so I presume we've been forgiven!

That's all our news for now!

Take care

Bella, I'd say you are lucky on the naps!! My boys are sleeping 8:30pm to 8:00am and one 1.5-2 hour nap in the afternoon. It's going well and I'm glad I made the switch to one nap.

Madiva, that's the first time I've noticed you sign your name with Angela. Now I know your real name!

Brady is walking like crazy now. Tyler only takes a couple steps and falls.

Both of the boys and myself have been sick for almost 2 weeks now. Colds, the croupe and ear infections. No fun!!

Do you find it hard to find table food that your little ones will eat? I try so many different things, they refuse them, and I end up making grilled cheese sandwiches and macaroni cheese. Tyler won't eat any fruit either! And the only veggie they will eat is corn. What kind of table foods are you having success with?

Luckily I'm still doing baby cereal & baby food/fruit in the morning and formula before bed so they are getting some good nutrition. They won't drink regular milk either...just a sip and then they throw the cup.

Hi All -
Good to see so many updates from everyone. It is so fun to hear what everyone is doing and how the little ones are getting along.

"We" are still content to crawl everywhere. Hendricks has no interest in walking at all. This doesn't concern me at all, but it is getting a little tiresome carrying him all the time. He is somwhere between 25-27 pounds... no wonder my biceps are bulging.

Kristi - good for you on joining the gym. I did that back in August and it has really been a good "getaway" for me. I do take Hendricks with me sometimes, but since I go after work, it falls right during his cranky time so he doesn't have a lot of fun. I also feel guilty going some days, because I don't see him all day while I'm at work, then I get home and spend a few minutes with him before heading to the gym. When we/I get home, there is usually just a hour before going to bed for him. But, I have dropped 6 pounds and am finally back to "pre-fertility-treatment" weight. I am finally ready to wear that bikini in Mexico in a few weeks.

It is interesting to me to see how different everyone's sleep/nap routines are. We are for the most part still doing 2 naps a day, but they are getting shorter and shorter. Hendricks has a HORRIBLE chest cold right now, and for the last week has been waking every 1-2 hours at night and needing mommy to settle him back to sleep. I feel like I have a newborn again with all the waking and both of us falling asleep together in the chair in his room.

As for eating, Hendricks eats just about everything we give him... depending on his mood. Somedays he loves certain foods, and other days he spits it out. He'll eat any fruit or veggie we give him, loves peanut butter on whole wheat, pancakes w/ applesauce, seafood lasagne, tofu burgers, cottage cheese, yogurt... pretty much anything. We do have to watch what we give him though cuz if we give him fruit to start, he won't eat anything else. He is very visual too, if he doesn't like how it looks, he won't eat it and just shoves the spoon away. So, I end up holding down his arms and sort of forcing the food in. As soon as he tastes it, then he will eat more.

Can you believe that our kids' 2nd Christmas is just around the corner? My how time flies!!

Kristi - it's funny how food probs can be so different with everyone...
Lucy will not eat much in the way of 'baby food' - even food i specifically cook for her is often refused. BUT, she will eat anything we are eating. So she has yum cha (dim sum) with us every weekend, eats our spaghetti (with spices, chilli etc), and anything that we would eat.

But I do make risotto for her which she loves. But DH doesn't eat risotto, so I do just make it for her. If they like cheese, maybe lasagne (and a vegie lasagne means you can hide lots of vegies in there!!).

I also have a recipe for vegetable pancakes - good for using all those leftover vegies and they think it's 'cake'. If anyone wants it I will write it up. And another easy dish that Lucy loves is my little quick and easy egg cups. It's kind of like an omlette, but I put the egg/vegie mix in little muffin tins and put it in the oven for about 5 mins. They're good little finger food snaks to take out with you too.

Lucy is still running crazy, and we are nearing her 1st birthday, which is very exciting!!! It's a butterfly theme, and I got the cutest tutu for her, and some butterfly wings. Funny though, cos she's such a tomboy!!!

Hi All -

Tracii - How was Isabella's birthday? Haven't heard from you in a bit... was just wondering how the day was?

Bella - I will be away for a bit so just wanted to wish Lucy a happy early birthday :)

Hope all the rest of you are doing well. Hendricks has bronchitis, but the antibiotics have pretty much taken care of it. He is going on 3 weeks of being sick. Yuck! Poor thing!

Hey everyone! Boy have we all gotten quiet. Maybe because Christmas is coming up and we're all busy shopping?? I have to admit that I check this board often, but don't always take the time to type. I figured I better this time and get our post up to the top so it doesn't disappear!

Well, I had mentioned that Brady started walking a month ago (around 13 months) and Tyler just started walking on his own a couple of days ago (shortly after 14 months). They are so funny and entertaining to watch.

My boys are eating better since last time I wrote....well, they'll eat a few more things anyway.

I've lost 5 pounds since I joined the gym seven weeks ago. Julie, congrats on getting back to pre-prego weight! Is Hendricks trying to walk yet?

Well, I hope you are all having fun getting ready for the holidays!!

Hi! Wow I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted. I have just been super busy and then too exhausted at night to write anything...in fact right now I am dreaming of bed. My parents came to Vienna (only for 5 days) from the US - nice time but the weather was horrible...but they really came for Isabella and spending time with her so it didn't matter too much.

We have finally sold our house in Munich!! We are all VERY relieved. We have also now decided to sell our beach house in North Carolina. I bought it years ago as an investment (when I was single and throwing away money on clothes)...and my parents have been looking after it..after a heartfelt conversation we decided to put it on the market - I know not great timing but you never know.

I am still taking italian lessons and also organizing the play groups holiday party...which is Sunday and can't wait to have one less thing to worry about.

Isabella - she is a real character. She started walking last Sunday and hasn't stopped! Tonight she fell and banged her head pretty bad on a shelf. She banged pretty hard and cut herself a little near the eye. I am sure this will not be the last fall - but scared the cr@p out of me. No talking at all..well just babbling away - all day! She eats great - some days she eats like a horse and the next only nibbles but I don't worry and figure when she is hungry she will eat.

I need to catch up with everyone - and hope to read up over the next days...just so exhausted and am craving bed.

This is just a ticker test. I thought I'd change it after looking at the heart ticker for over 14 months. I don't think it's working though.

Hi Everyone...

How are everyone's holiday preparations coming along? We finally just got our tree up, and I have done ZERO shopping. DH and I were in Mexico for a week, so I figured I'd get everything done when we got back... but so far I haven't found the time.

Mexico was terrific, once I got past the first night. I was ready to get back on the plane and go home and didn't know how I was going to make it through a week without Hendricks. But after that first night I was over it and able to enjoy the rest of the week. We did absolutely nothing except lie on the beach, drink margaritas, and relax.

Hendricks is not walking yet, but I think it will be any day now. He walks around pushing one of his toys, and he walks hanging onto our hands. His "favorite" thing to do now is let go of whatever he is hanging on to and stand by himself. He thinks it is soooooo funny!

Anyone else finding that suddenly our kids are understanding everything? Hendricks responds correctly to things we ask him or tell him ("go get your ball" "where's your truck?" "where's mom's eyes?") It is really cool. Everything is either a "buh" or a "duh" as in ball, brush, bottle, book, bird or duck, drink, dog... his pronunciation is a long way off, but he always gets the first letter right :)

Well, hope you are all doing great. I've posted a couple new pics and would love to see more of everyone else.

Take care,
Julie

Julie, I just said the same thing to my mom this past week...all of a sudden the boys understand what I'm saying and respond. Just like you said...."where's your xx", "go get your xx", want to go outside", etc. They instantly caught on to signing too so they can communicate that way also. It's pretty neat!

It's been nice having both of them walk now. I don't have to carry both of them at the same time anymore. Oh, have you heard of squeaky shoes? Pipsqueakers.com is one website that sells them. There's a little squeaker built in the shoe so when they walk it squeaks. It's supposed to help them learn to walk (heel to toe because the squeaker is in the heal) and they love to hear the squeak so it encourages them to walk. Anyway, my boys love them. Check them out....

Julie, your vacation sounds awesome!! I'm so glad to hear you got away and were able to relax!

I'm ready for Christmas! I can't believe it's just a week away.

Hi all!

Glad to see it's not just me that hasn't had time to post! We've been off on our hols to Grenada which was fantastic. The flight out was a bit difficult as it was daytime, but we survived. The flight back was overnight so he slept most of the way - heaven! Only nightmare was that we were delayed by 24 hours due to a problem with the plane but we stayed at a nice hotel and just treated it as an extra day's holiday!

We then had around 5-6 days of Charlie refusing to adapt to Grenada time so was waking up at around 2am (which is 6am England time) and ready for the day. We were knacked and thought we'd made a serious mistake. However he settled down and just adored it. The weather was fab so we spent most of the time in the water - his swimming is SO good (well his floating around on his own with the ocassional kick!!). He's now mastered running (although could fall over his own shadow!) and is now trying his hand at jumping - very funny!!!!
I was very impressed how well he did with eating "adult" food on hols. He tucked into a plate of swordfish the same size of ours most days! He also discovered watermelon on a major scale and had 2 slices for breakfast! We bought him a small fork which he now prefers to a spoon and is very reluctant to accept help. Suits me - means I can eat my own food and he feeds himself!
I hear you about understanding things. I showed him the moon one night on hols. I asked him where it was the following evening and he pointed straight to it - amazing! He doesn't stop "talking" and in his eyes has proper conversations with us although we can't understand a word! So cute!!

Anyhow at least the time difference is in our favour now we're back and he's not quite back to england time. he didn't wake until 9am this morning - we all had a lie-in!!!!!! It was heaven!!!

Not got too far with being organised for Christmas and starting to panic a little now! In case I don't get a chance to post hope you all have a fantastic time.

Will try to post piccies of our hols on photobucket (although we forgot the camera   so the piccies are on dps phone and I need to work out how to download them!!!!)

Take care!!!!
