TUMMY PAINS

Post by Jo Locker »

I dont feel really worried or anything but have quite a sharp pain very low down on my right hand side - so low it almost feels like the top of my leg! I'm sure it's wind of some kind but I've had it for a couple of days and its nagging - has anyone else had this kind of thing - I know there are all kinds of pains we get and I'm starting to suffer a bit from indigestion now so feel generally a bit windy & bloated.

Be glad to hear if any of you have had this. lots of love - Jo. Hi jo

I've had really severe abdominal pains and I'm not as far on as you, so was quite worried but my consultant said I'd probably strained some ligaments but it is to be expected and try a hot water bottle and if very severe take paracetomol. Not bothered with the tablets but I can definitely recommend the hot water bottle. If I'm going on a long car journey and take one in the car and I always take one to bed too.

I also had a look in my Dr Miriam Stoppard New Pregnancy and Birth Book and she says abdominal pain can be expected during 2nd and 3rd trimester. Round ligament pain ocurrs during pregnancy when the ligaments supporting the uterus stretch. Symptoms are either felt as stabbing, cramp-like pain when you get up after sitting or lying for a time or a dragging pain on one side only. The treatment suggested is to apply a hot water bottle to relax muscles, because the pain is normally spasmodic painkillers are not worthwhile!

Hope this helps!

Love nikola.xx

jo i e-mailed you but i think that way to much work and money has gone in to getting pregnant and if you dont feel right or you are worried about something then drive your doc and nurse mad and have them check everything out!!! if nothing else at least you will get to see your little ones an extra time. just remind them of what you have had to go threw to get pregnant.. they cant always tell whats up until they take a look..
love becky
we werent blessed with our babies to raise here but we our blessed with our grandaughter
and all of our many adopted and foster children that touch our lives
and i am glad to add that our 6th grandchild will be born this spring!!!!

Thank you so much for your replies - I am always touched when people take the time to reply and comfort you when you have a worry - it amazes me every time, thank-you.

What I think I'll do is just lay low this evening with my hot water bottle and give the midwife a call tomorrow if it hasnt gone away - you're right Becky that's what they're there for and it is far too precious to take any chance on, bless you.

Lots of Love - Jo. Hi Jo

Like Nikola said, its the uterus stretching. It feels like stitch a bit doesn't it. I was worried at first too, but once you know its all normal, its fine. Like the others said, if it worries you big time, have a scan and see your little girl again!

Love

Rachel
x

Hi Jo,

The worrying just doesn't stop, we do get all sorts of pain and to be honest I had these pains as well and the midwife said its normal. The thing is Jo if you are worried I would get it checked because we have paid alot of money to be in our situation and that's what they are there for.

Love
Shell.
30wks pg
xx
