DEXTER BFP - FINALLY!!!

Hello lovely ladies and the odd gents,

Just wanted to share my good news. As most of you probably know we have just finished our 4th IVF attempt. I have had a natural BFP in May resulting in an early miscarriage and my last IVF resulted in a chemical pregnancy of just 7. What a rollercoaster year it's been.

Well we had our FET with 2 x grade 2 blasts on Tues 13th and my beta results came in today at 250! I am so ecstatic but still cautiously optimistic. My doc said these were great numbers and indicative of a healthy pregnancy but I know it's early days and anything can go wrong.

Can you believe I've accidentally had my phone on silent all day and had 6 missed calls from the clinic when I looked at the phone! I was out shopping with my Mum. I hadn't told her about our FET as I had assumed it was negative. I took a HPT (Confirm brand) at 5dp 5dt and it was negative. I would not recommend this brand. My result lines were always way too faint to support the HCG numbers that I had. First REsponse Early Result gave me very thick, dark lines and instant results. I had a bit of hope this would work this time as my tests were getting darker (unlike previous attempts) and my last test at 9dp 5dt was darker than the control line. I had never seen this! Anyway when I got the msg on my ph from the nurse I started to shake and had to excuse myself to Mum so that I could go and return the call. After confirming the good news (I still cant believe it) I had to tell Mum. So I took her to a baby shop and picked up a little newborn suit that said "I love Grandma" and said to Mum "What do you think about this". Mum replied "no it's too small for Caleb" - my 2 yr old nephew!! Ha! Then she thought I was picking it out for her dog!!!! Finally I had to spell it out for her and she broke down right there in the middle of the shop. It was such a special moment.

I know I'm going on with it now and I should probably stop. I feel happy but at the same time scared to death about the next 3 weeks. Please let this one stay with us Lord.

This was our 4th try and I was just about to give up.

dexter - i know we've only "spoken" a couple of times but i always read your posts......CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'll be keeping everything crossed for your scan but your numbers sound great.

i am absolutely delighted for you - it brought a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat ... typical mother cuasing a scene in baby shop!!!!

Thanks so much ladies,

It just doesn't feel real and my mind is pre occupied 24/7! Did I mention that this time I took 100mg of baby aspirin? Did it off my own back after reading about other women having success with it. I haven't told my RE yet but will give him a call on Tues to let him know. I know he won't want me to continue taking it but for some reason, in some way, I feel this helped us to implant this time. I will discuss it with him later I guess.

Aside from that, I am bloody constipated and got gassy pains and I'm analyzing every twinge :-/ Praying hard.

Dexter, I too am taking aspirin, but only 75mg, doc knows this as i was found to have a clotting problem. My concern for you is if you need this you need to continue taking it up until 34 weeks. If you can try to convince your RE to allow you to continue on it. Good luck.

Well done Dex! It has been a great year for us down under (Angie has hit 8 weeks and my boys are almost 6 months old!) Relax, enjoy it and believe that it will all be perfect.

Hi guys,
Just had my fist scan...I'm 7 weeks today!

THERE WERE 2 HEARTBEATS -IT'S TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DH fell off the chair and I started bawling. The sonographer just said congratulations and handed me some tissues

Wow perhaps this miracle really is happening. Now I know why I've been feeling so queezy..coz there's 2 in there!

TWIN A - 146 heart beat
TWIN B - 133 heart beat.

Hopefully that's normal? Nurse said as long as it's over 100 and under 200, all is good.

WOW twins!!

Thanks for sharing your happy story......its so nice for those of us still waiting for a BFP to hear such lovely success stories. I hope you have a wonderful, uneventful pregnancy! Better get back to the baby store and buy 2 of everything! YAY
