Well Cornybaby - you are more prepared than me - I haven't even gotten the tree up! I haven't even bought a single gift yet! YIKES!

I am very regular also, but every now and then I am up to a week late. I was kinda hoping that I would save myself 15000$ and have a natural pg! - Amazing I still that is possible after 8 years TTC! But in any case AF will eventually get here, and I will waste no time scheduling my appt at the RE!

Good for you Ems! I still have not bought a single gift! The semester ends this week for me, so next week I will have to catch up!

Yeah, I guess we are all waiting at this point! Af is supposed to be here on Saturday, I hope she doesn't disappoint! Unless she is disappointing b/c of a natural BFP!

Hope everyone is well. I am so pumped from all of the BFPs on this board! The last board I was on was very negative and mopey - and very few BFPs,; I am sure there was some connection to negative thinking. I am staying positive this round! :)

Ohhh fingers crossed for a natural BFP, how amazing that would be. I pray every month for one of them but alas nothing. Must keep positive though and focus on our two frosties :D

Jumping on Board!

Post by loopie »

Hi ladies (and gents if any)
I will be starting my 1st IVF in January, too and know about the process, but little about the physical and emotional toll the hormones etc will take- only what I have read on the MB.
I am very excited about the process and posted an intro last week with a little ditty about me and my DH (soo excited I know what these acronyms mean now!)
I guess we have been TTC for a couple of years with a break due to some medical stuff, and now know that DH has sperm morphology issues, so it's IVF /ICSI for us - we didn't try any of the IUI stuff, so even the hormones will be new to me.
I was put on birth control pills starting last week so they can regulate my cycle- it was 25 days like clockwork when I started keeping track- but could have sworn that every month was a mystery prior to my actually paying attention! So anyhow, I will be on BC straight through until beginning January when the magic begins.
I told some close friends about our journey - some have gone the clomid, hormomeIF stuff, but none have had to do IVF (we're all sort of late bloomers when it came to becoming parents )
I also told our parents, though it was a bit weird to talk to my mother-in-law about her son's wacky sperm  I wasn't even going to talk to my mom about it until I could tell her we were PG, but she's been bugging me- you know "I was hoping to give this to your daughter" crap and guilt, but instead of getting angry with her, I decided to tell her, and to be honest, she didn't even seem that interested, I think it might have been her way of giving me space, but what I needed was, you know, WOW- that's amazing, and wonderful and scary, and do you need me?
I mean this stuff can't be completely foreign to her, necessarily- my folks were TTC for 10 years, then adopted my sisters (they're twins), then 3 yrs later I came along -
I dunno- sorry about the rant, but it really bummed me out - and I need to be positive! oh, and lastly- does everyone have non-stop thoughts about PG? I can't seem to get to sleep or wake up having not thought about it for days!! -I pretty much consider myself well rounded, but can think of nothing else right now ... so I made a shit-ton of cookies, and will be making more today!
cheers to all -

Hi loopie!!

Welcome! This is defintely a positive place, so you're in the right spot! Jan 6th I start the injections - and this is also my first IVF. I did take clomid a few years ago and did IUI 4 times, but it didn't work. The IVF makes me very hopeful athough - I can't wait to get started, but am dreading parts of it at the same time. A little bit of an emotional rollercoaster, and I am also concerned with how the meds will affect me - as far as moods and physical symptoms too. In the long run - if this is successful, I don't care what we have to go through! :D

I'm at work, so should probably run, but wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone! Hope you are all having a wonderful day and the weekend is a happy one for all!

Hi Loopie and Tracey, good luck for your 1st round of IVF, I hope its the 1st and only round you will need. It is a very exciting journey, I never had any reactions to the medications which I thought was very strange as im quite moody and the thought of being pumped with hormones scared my dp to death but I was strangely calm (both times). The worst time when it did get to me was stopping all the meds and starting the 2ww, that was the killer, lots of good and bad days. All I can say is keep positive and hope for the best. Im looking forward to sharing this journey with you all

HI Everyone! This is my first post! I am 36 and going through my first cycle of IVF, with ICSI, low motility sperm.

My Cycle starts on Jan 7th, 2008 and like many in this forum, I have a handle on the science but not on the emotional etc....

I had really bad cramps on the "camera" test and mild cramps on the "dry" run when they inserted the catheter in the uterus to measure up for ET. Anyone know if cramps after ET will lessen your chance of the embryos "sticking?"

I am in Monterey, California, USA

Good luck to everyone! Thank you for all of your posts and Baby dust to everyone (cutest phrase ever! congrats to the one who came up with that!)

Hey Girls! I haven't been on the last couple of days b/c I lost my laptop adaptor and my battery is dead :(

Welcome loopie! The acronyms are have the battle :)My DH has morphology issues also.

Ems: You are right I was more emotional during th 2ww then during the injection

Rio: Welcome! I will be doing ICSI as well, I didn't with my 1st IVF, so i am hopping that is what will help us.

I am just waiting for AF; she should be here sometime this evening. Then I can start the OCP and feel like I am actually doing something. I tried to give up caffiene, ha! With so many Christmas get togethers it is hard to stay away from coffee and hot chocolate! I have cut down though and I am faithfully taking my vitamins and folic acid :) I switched the brand of vitamins and my bms aren''t so scary any more

I still have not bought a SINGLE present! I am almost finished entering my grades (I teach college English), so once I get those in by Tuesday I will have time.

Baby Dust to ALL!

We have been trying to concieve for what seems like forever. I do not ovulate. We got pregnant two time on clomid but miscarried early on. I have a new diagnosed blooding clotting disorder which is most likely why i lost our babies. My husband has some issues too mobility and count. So we are going straight IVF /ICSI!! I was scheduled to start on jan 15th but i had surgery a few weeks ago and needed to be bcp so i am being moved up to right after christmas!! I am so nervous but excited at the same time!
