Hi Dexter-
The cruise sounds like a lot of fun. I wouldn't worry about the other couple who is trying. If they ask you can be honest with them about where you are in your testing. I found couples who are trying through IVF are always supportive and happy for other who do conceive even if that couple hasn't yet. But use your discretion. Don't bring it up unles they ask.
Sounds like everything is going great and can't wait to hear how your scan goes!

I cannot tell you all how happy I am that my scan is tomorrow morning. I can't stand laying here and not knowing for another minute. Fingers crossed for a good outcome, I'll keep you all posted. It has been quiet around here this weekend, hope that is because you're all out having fun!

Just a quick update.....had our first scan today, we saw two implanted sacks....but at this stage we only saw one strong heartbeat!
We are going back next Tuesday for another scan to be sure, but either way, one sweet baby is fine with us. We are on cloud nine!!!!!!!!!

Nic---hope your scan goes well, we are thinking of you!

I'm sad to say my ultrasound showed that my uterus is empty. No baby for us this time. Our little one left us at 5 weeks.

We're going to be OK, though, we have 4 frozen and have prepaid for 3 fresh and 3 frozen cycles. We'll probably transfer another 2 frozen asap (without rushing my poor body), probably February. I feel confident that there will be a baby in our future, this just wasn't the right time. At least we know we can get pregnant and that my ovaries make lots of follicles. Lots of positive thoughts to take with me.

Thanks for eveyone's support, nobody else really can understand what its like who hasn't been through it. You all have been so nice to have around.

Kris, thats wonderful news, I'm so happy for you! Can't wait to be in your shoes one day!

I wish all of you wonderfully happy pregnancies and beautiful babies that bring you so much joy! I'm outta here for now, but I'll be back!

Nicaliw, I am so sorry. This has happened to me twice, and i would not wish it on anyone. please take care and look forward to reading about your success in the not too distant future. At least you know you can get pregnant, now you just need the final hurdle of getting them to stay put.

Kris, congratulations, how far along are you? good luck for tuesday.

As for me, had my 8 week scan yesterday and both babies are doing fine, measuring 8w3 days, and 8w4days, nice strong heartbeats and passed on to my GP. However due to me having recurring miscarraiges i was told i can have a scan weekly until my 12th week. But as the clinic is a four hour round trip we decided to just have one done at week 10, just befiore christmas, so next scan is Dec 20th. i see my GP tomorrow and will then get a midwife appointment and she will arrange for my 12 week scan locally.

Nicali- I'm so sorry to hear your unfortunate news. You seem to be in good spirits and I'm sure you'll be back on this side of the board very soon. Good luck in February, my prayers are with you.

Kris- Congratulations! When are you due?

Jayne- Glad to hear you are doing well. The 20th is my next ob appt and I believe its Vicky's as well. That day will be busy for all of us.

As for me things are going well. My congestion is finally subsiding. My boobs are not hurting as much and I can usually eat now without my stomach getting upset. As long as I don't go too long w/o eating I'm fine. I was actually able to have some quality time with DH this weekend in the bedroom. Nice to be able to reconnect with him that way.
I just want my energy back!

Hi to everyone else - sorry I haven't been on for a while - we finally moved house - now drowning in a sea of boxes but at least we are in.

20th is going to be BIG DAY for this thread - it is my 12 week scan too (I will have waited 4 weeks since the last one - an eternity!)

Best go - have to get some lunch - this embie is eating the life out of me - I am weak with hunger!

Hi guys,
Just had my first scan...7 weeks today!

THERE WERE 2 HEARTBEATS -IT'S TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DH fell off the chair and I started bawling. The sonographer just said congratulations and handed me some tissues Wow perhaps this miracle really is happening. Now I know why I've been feeling so queezy..coz there's 2 in there!

TWIN A - 146 heart beat
TWIN B - 133 heart beat.

Hopefully that's normal? Nurse said as long as it's over 100 and under 200, all is good.

Nurse said one of them seemed quite close to the cervix. Anyone know what this means? I emailed my IVF nurse to ask f it's safe to have sex as we've been abstaining til we saw the HB. Any suggestions?

how exciting Dex - that is great news. No idea re heartbeats - my clinic doesn't do them - in fact it doesn't seem to measure much at all after the BFP !

So happy for you - and yes I can relate to the queasiness - the only thing I fancy right now is ice cream! I have fresh fruit at my desk but ice cream is what I need.

All the stuff I've read says getting down to it is fine

Congratulations Dexter, way to go. Welcome to the twin club. take it easy and hang in there. We got the ok to start bedroom antics again!!! DH was very relieved.

Angie, yep still need food all the time too. Was good and had a few veggies last night, but still not too keen. Hows the unpacking going, take it nice and steady you've got a good 6 months to get organised.

Vicky, Where are you, hope all is still ok with you?

Kimberli, glad your starting to feel better, your energy will be back before you know it.

As for me, doing fine, hungry still all the time. Saw my Dr yesterday, she's happy with me, so just waiting for the midwife to call to make my first appointment.
Update on SIL, she had her scan this morning and is 17 weeks pregnant on Saturday< how the He** did she not know. so she is due end of May. DH bit upset as he feels pressure now to make sure we do not lose these babies. oh well what will be will be.

Nicaliw and Hope, I'm so sorry about your news. I wish you both all the best for the future and as others have said you know you can get pregnant now so it's gonna happen.

Sorry I've been missing - very busy and rather nervous about my upcoming scan so was trying not to obsess. Anyway the scan was today and we have one little beanie in there with a good strong heartbeat! We are over the moon. The nurse said it was 7 weeks and 1 day so that made 1st August my due date but I think she forgot that next year's a leap year which would make it 31st July...I think.

Dexter, congrats on the twins! That's fab news.

Glad to hear everyone else is doing so well.
