I am in the hospital for a few days. My babies are doing well. I had elevated liver enzymes which can be the start of pre-ecampsia. They are monitoring me very closely. If you want the full story please look.

Hi Gargy-
I have a couple of questions... Did Metformin make you very ill when taking it? Are you still taking it even though you will be doing an IUI or IVF? My doctor put me on Metformin and it makes me very very ill.

I have been feeling like junk lately. For one I have been unable to talk. I feel huge and I have this sinus thing going and nothing good to take for it!!! Sorry to complain but it is getting to be that hormonal, non-coping time of the pregnancy!!! I have updated my blog with u/s photos and info from todays appt at www.thejourneyforbaby.blogspot.com

HELLO GUYS

I HAD MY BABIES!!!!!!
Riley was 5lbs 5 oz
Sophie was 5lbs 8oz

I started having good contractions over the weekend and they decided to admit me on Monday. Anyhow I was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia. The doctors all recommended that I deliver the babies to save my body. I agreed. Both babies are doing wonderful and I feel WAY better as well. They are so cute. I did have DH bring everything to the hospital but my card reader is not working so I will have to keep trying. I will update the blog as soon as I can. They are breathing on their own and have not been fed a bottle just yet because they are preemies. They are so darn adorable. Sophie is a little spitfire just like me and Riley is so calm and go with the flow. They are so wonderful~I can't wait to get photos up for you guys. Who woulda guessed???

Brilliant news Tanya that your babies arrived safe and well! What a wonderful Christmas present! So cute that they have some character already. Take care of yourself!

Miracle, to answer your question, I get stomach cramps with the Metformin. I also get the runs sometimes if I eat something that is less than healthy. My GP put me onto Diabex ER, (ER standing for extended release), and I've found that this is a lot better. It's the equivalent to extended release fertiliser for plants - you don't get a big dose in one go. But I still get a sore tummy. And yes, I will still be taking it, now I'm on it, I'm not going to go back off it. From what I remember, it is better to be on it when trying to fall (but don't quote me)

The FS recommended that I go with IUI again, just to see if it will take. There is no medical reason why it shouldn't. He'd rather do this than go for the more invasive IVF option. And I can see his point - maybe the new sperm will work better.

Must admit to a little feeling of 'oh no, here we go again' as we went and saw him. Also, our donor still has to do some blood tests, so I have to chase that up with him (again). We have to sign off on some paperwork, but we should be ready to go again by January. I was a little shocked it was so soon.

So, I need to chase our SD, then sign off. I remember something vaguely about more counselling, so I'll chase that too.

Anyway, off to buy some furniture. Hopw everyone else is going well. And again congratulations Tanya!

Hello everyone,

How are you all? PLEASE give me an update on how you are all going - this thread has been VERY quiet!!

As for me, went to the clinic this morning, gave 3 vials of blood, and picked up the puregon. I start the injections tonight. Going with another round of IUIs.

Slightly concerned that our SD's blood results are not in my file. I've emailed him to make sure everything is ok (why is this my job and not the clinics!!)

I find it hard to believe but I'm 11 weeks pregnant tomorrow

I've got my booking in appt with the midwife this Wednesday and 12 week scan next Wednesday.
