Malinka-So Exciting!!!! We will all be thinking of you betweeen now and especially on Dec. 21st!! Good luck with everything!!!

My first appt. with my OB went well! Almost 11 weeks and both babies are doing great! I have 2 cysts on each ovary which is a concern because the whole reason I got into this IVF situation is because I had a form of ovarian cancer, they had to remove 2 canteloupe size tumors off each ovary, etc. So, they are keeping an eye on them for now. Hopefully they will go away, but if they get larger, they will have to do surgery while I'm pregnant..eek! Not really worrying about that until they tell me they get bigger though! Anyways, I get to go to a 2-D ultrasound next week...it will be my 5th ultrasound in just 12 weeks...I love it! My doctor said she doesn't require bedrest unless it is needed which made me really excited because I have read that some require it regardless. Yea!!

Hi girls, I just have to gripe to people who would understand.

My DH only has to help me take care of the kids in the early evening (say, from 5-8). When we feed them, play with them, bathe them, and put them to bed. Well, tonight, he wasn't "feeling well", so he went to lay down and rest. Now, a nice wife would say "okay, honey, I hope you feel better...". BUT DID I TELL YOU I'VE BEEN FEELING ICKY ALL WEEK? Do I get even a moment's break? :? :? :?

Now, I've managed on my own, but now I get to make bottles, fold laundry, and straighten up the house by myself. Oh, and maybe eat some dinner that I never got to make? Oh, I am just going to hit the roof!!!!

Sorry. Had to vent. Couldn't take it out on the kids or the dog. Had to express this somewhere.

Thanks. I feel better. a little.

maybe a little wine will help me feel bettter??? :D

Hi all

Kim - a glass of wine never hurt anybody - I have a small glass every night! Hope you are feeling better soon.

My DH apologises if he is running late from work as he knows how hard it can be if one of the babies have had a difficult day

Hopefully your DH will be better soon! Not only for his sake but for your sake too :D

Cheers Di

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!!

Malinka - best of luck over the next week. My HR manager is also due at Christmas with just a singleton but she's also ready to pop!

Kim - men. I think we ALL feel for you and sympathize with your moment of frustration. it's completely warranted. i agree with Diane, have a glass of wine and get the next "down time" when the DH comes home. let him deal with the house for a couple of hours. :-)

I've got an u/s next week on 12/22 just a little before my 16 week mark for an anatomy scan. Can't wait to find out what's cooking in there and my OB was kind enough to order the scan before the holidays. :D

Off to sleep -- hope everyone is well.

ok....I feel really bad for DH....he's really sick with the flu! Poor guy. I feel bad for him, plus I'm so busy with the kids, so I can't tend to him. He's sleeping now, so hopefully he'll feel better later today?

Oh, by the way, did I tell you he refused to get a flu shot???? silly man.

lisa--good luck at your scan! I hope your little ones cooperate for you. (Did you know I never found out the sexes? It was a GREAT surprise at the birth!)

gotta run. this is my only chance for a shower. plus the dog needs walked. oh yeah...I better check on dh.....ugggghhhh!

Hello everyone,
I hope you don't mind me asking a question. When you all found out you were pregnant, how soon did you get a + on an HPT? and what were your beta's??

I took an hpt test 4 days past 5 day transfer (I thougt it was 5 days, but looked at the time of my transfer and that I tested in the middle of the night), well anyways it was positive. I tested again this morning and the line is slightly darker. We did a 5 day FET, 3 blasts, and the nurse said they were growing fast and more like 6 day embies...

Is there a possiblity I can have more than one?

I know I am jumping ahead of myself. Our beta is Monday dec 17.
Thanks and good luck everyone!!!

Donna, I didn't take a HPT until after my BETA. I was too superstitious...I had tried SOOOO many HPT during our course of trying to conceive, and I'd never had a positive one, so I guess I was spooked. Plus, my RE warned me that with all the hormones from IVF running through me that I could possibly get a false positive or negative...so I just waited, as hard as that was. Hopefully some of the other girls have better info for ya? Either way, good luck, and I hope your HPT was on the money!!! :) Keep us posted on Monday! By the way, where are you in Ohio? I'm near Dayton.

Di, happy 6 month b-day to your two! We celebrated ours by going to the doctor for vaccines! Yeah! :? The kids did pretty well this time compared to last. Ellie is 16 pounds 14 oz and 26 1/2 inches long. Braeden is 15 pounds 11 oz and 27 5/8 inches long. He's our long, lean machine! Poor Ellie, she's going to be my chubby one, I think! It's all good for now...I love her chubby thighs!

Malinka--am I going to be a winner? For your sake, I hope so!

Donna....I took a HPT 5 or 6 days after a 5 day transfer and it was positive! I took one every day until the bloodwork day and they were all positive. They even let me come in a day early for my bloodwork and in IVF world, you know that is a big deal! Now, I'm expecting twins, so I hope the best for you!

Buckeyegal-Sorry I forgot to mention any of this before, but I'm starting to feel a little better now and thinking more clearly! I was originally from Columbus, OH! We are making our traditional buckeyes tomorrow! Yummy! My family still lives there....my grandparents used to own a lot of land in Pickerington. My cousins both go to Ohio State and my lil cousin, Ashley, is Miss Ohio State in the College Calendar this year!!! How hilarious that!? She is on and off dating a football player there named James Larinitis (total wrong spelling, but I know it sounds like Laringitus!?). I know his dad is a pro wrestler or something! Anyways, just wanted to share, because I saw you lived near Dayton!

faithandhope--holy cow! You have QUITE the Buckeye connection. Your cousin is dating Laurinitus? (I don't know how to spell it either...) That's pretty impressive, actually, since he's quite the guy here in Ohio. If they manage to go long term, she might end up being with a very wealthy NFL player! My sister graduated from OSU last year, and she's an insane buckeye fan. She's going to be very jealous of your cuz! I love the homemade buckeyes too. I don't ever make them but they are oh so yummy.

Glad you're feeling better!

Buckeyegal......Yep, my aunt tells me he is a big deal around there and that he is up for all these awards right now. I went to UGA and am a huge GA Bulldawg fan so I imagine it is like her dating David Green or someone really important here! She goes to all the games, sells her little College Calendar that she is in, and then sits in the suites with his parents. They were on and off throughout the season, but I think they are back on again. My aunt said he came over and she was cooking him dinner and she had to keep feeding him because he ate so much! My cousin is about 100 pounds and a total model, so I'm sure they are a cute couple! My step brother, Ryan, played football for Dayton and he was pretty good, too!

Back to baby world-Did anyone have morning sickness the WHOLE pregnancy? I tried to get a smoothie down last night and was sick all night from it. I can't keep ANYTHING down and I am so tired of throwing up. I have been getting sick everyday for the past 6 weeks, even with Zophran! All I want for Christmas is morning sickness to go away!

What week did you girls find out the sexes of the twins?

faithandhope--WHen did your brother play at Dayton? My mom teaches there and has a lot of athletes in her class. She teaches theater. Small world.... as for your sickness, I'm so sorry! I never actually got "sick". I just felt nauseus the whole time. It sounds like you've got it bad. Have you tried the sea bands? You can get them at the drug store. They're meant for motion sickness, but they helped me a little. Although, you're already on some stiff meds, so I don't know...I will say that sucking on peppermints helped me a ton. I was sick at this time last year, so mints were everywhere. Good luck!

My kids have been napping forever today! I've gotten so much done, but I also keep checking on them to make sure they're alive...it must be the vaccines from yesterday.

buckeyegal.....My step brother's name is Ryan, but he is like 33 years old, so it was a while ago. But, I know he made the ESPN college play of the week while he was there, so he was pretty good! I have tried Seabands and they don't work. I actually throw up a lot while I am wearing them. However, I got some REAL food down last night and kept it down. I can't wait for the 2nd trimester! Almost there!

That is exciting that they were taking such a good nap and you got so much done! What do you girls do when you are taking a shower? Do you just put 2 of those little vibrating chair things in the bathroom with you? These are the type of things I"m wondering about! ha ha!

Hey Ladies~

Hope everyone is doing well. It seems we have quite a fun conection going on in previous posts. What a small world!

Kim~ WOW! Your little ones are getting so big! They are so sweet in their holiday photos! I just want to hold them and squeeze them! Congrats on a good day of naps as well! It's the little things isn't it?

Faithandhope~ We found out the sexes of our babies around week 16 or 17?? It's all such a blur now??? I was on the fence about knowing but ultimately we have one cute unisex nursery in the end so I'm glad I knew. Plus, we received a TON of hand-me-down clothes for them. Good luck!

The babies are doing well. Bodie is still struggling a bit but we are going in tomorrow to figure out what is wrong with him. Now we think he may have reflux??? Maybe someone can help here. . . his symptoms are that he gets really stiff when upset, has very jerky movements, has a hard time going to sleep especially after he has ate, strains when he cries, his stomach is very loud, he just looks uneasy and uncomfortable and he eats very little amounts often. Nothing I do can make him eat more at once either. If I hold him out 3-4 hours he eats the same amount. Also, I believe (and will find out tomorrow) that he isn't gaining weight very fast anymore???? Needless to say, we are worried sick about him!!!! I'm pretty layed back and easy going all the time and lately we have just been nervous over what our baby is going through. It's just hard to diagnose something for someone who can't speak!

Better run and get to bed while my punkins' are sleeping. Take care and I hope you are all having a great holiday!

Take care~

Hi all

Kim - we celebrated our 6 month milestone the same way - vaccines :D As with you the babies response was much better than last time with very little hassle - thank goodness as I was expecting the worst.

Kimberly - your poor little guy - it does sound like reflex your doc will confirm one way or other which will be great as then you can do something about it. We still have trouble with Bronte and her feeds. We have had her to the doctors to no avail. She is now only putting on around 100gms per week! They all tell us not to worry as long as she does not loose weight. Very hard not to worry though. Keep us posted.

Better get back to the study....

Cheers Di
