hi annette, i know what you're going thru with this wait. even though i've already had a uterus scan it's not possible to be certain if it is all ok yet.

last year i was pregnant it was ectopic. at about 5 weeks i had some heavy, thick brownish discharge. so much that we went to A&E. i had blood tests and was monitored for a couple of day. my blood tests showed that something was wrong as my hormone levels were rising but not at the correct rate. after a lot of blunders at the hosital the scan showed the embryo in the wrong place and i had surgery during which my tube was removed.
after that the hospital consultant and my gp said that in the event of a future pregnancy i should contact them immediately to be scanned.

this time i am at a private clinic so when i got my positive result i called . they told to come in straight away for a scan. at this stage they could only look at the uterus as the embryo won't show until week 4 (from conception) week 6 (from last period). i was told that it is possible to detect in early stages from the state of the uterus if there is any cause for concern. however they can't be certain until they see the embryo.

annette, i know the worry you're going thru. why don't you call your doctor and ask for an earlier scan?

phil x

Phil,

Thanks so much for the words of reassurance. I may call my clinic this week if I continue to worry. I just know they're going to say if I have no pain or concern at this point that would just rather wait until my 8wk. scan. It just seems forever away, especially when you've had a previous ectopic.

Your ectopic sounds very similiar to mine I also lost my right tube during surgery.. Mine was 2yrs. ago so I'm having a hard time remembering when my pain started. I know we all probably worry way to much!!

Thanks and talk to you soon,
Annette
