hee hee hee! Rio, that's exactly what I had last night- sushi& wine -dee-lish!

I hate the bc pills, I am sooo puffy - was only ever on them in my early 20's - and briefly - as I've always hated how they made me feel -well, just 20 more days and maybe never again!
I think I'm going to go get a Guinness and puff up some more!
see you soon

Hello everyone,

Just checking in after the weekend. I hope you are all doing well.

Rio - I love the idea about a message board for the poor DHs who will be dealing with all of us in our hyper-hormonal stages! ha!

Mia - I have a really good feeling about Jan/Feb....a feeling that we are going to be a lucky, happy group of gals!!!!

Sorry I don't have more time to write, but please know that I am wishing everyone the best, and keeping positive thoughts and prayers for all!!

Have a great day!!

loopie - and everyone else........

When I went to the RE for the initial consultation, I told them that I was having problems with cramps, and so they put me on bcp then and have had me on them for over three months now without taking the last week, just staying on them non-stop...(which has been nice - I haven't had AF for a LONG time)...but I am really getting a belly on me. Is it the bcp, or am I getting fat?!? haha! I am really hoping that it's the pills, but that might be wishful thinking...what do you all think?

Tracy S - I have never been on bcp - except for the 21 days prior to my last IVF. I don't remember any bloating. But I am jealous of your last 3 mos, never having to wonder, could I be pg - that is the worst!

My doctor put me on Yasmin I have had good luck with it, it is somewhat diuretic so I actually saw my weight and water retention go down from when I was ttc. I had not so confortable experiences with other bcp s and bloating is normal.

Good luck to everyone!!! The wait is killing me!

How many in ET?

Post by riogirl71 »

How many embryos is your doctor planning on transfering?

Are you going to freeze any embryos you don't transfer?

I am 36 and everything checks out, we are doing ICSI for male infertility issues and the doctor said he would like to implant 3 or 4. We are considering freezing any other embryos in case this cycle doesn't work or we can help another couple by donating. This is obviously assuming everything goes great between egg retrieval and ICSI fertilization.

If I could chose :) wishful thinking - I know! I would love to have twins (one of course is already a huge blessing) but I have to admit I get a little nervous at the slight chance of Triplets or quadruplets. Not because of the number of babies, but because there tends to be more pregnancy issues with multiple pregnancies... so I really wanted to know how many embryos are you implanting and if you would have them frozen...

Thanks!

my re wants to transfer 1 or2. 3 is the most I would agree to b/c a reduction is not an option for me. We plan on freezing any left over and will donate them to a friend in the event that we are unable to use them.

Well at is still not here! This is cd32 and I am ready for her to get here. The day went by fast bc I spent the whole day Christmas shopping! Whew I'm pooped!

rio- I transferred 3 embies last time...with no luck. It's a tough decision, but I really think it all depends on whether or not you do a 3 or 5 day transfer. I did a 3 day transfer last time. I have a friend who did a 5 day transfer (after multiple IVF treatments)...she wanted to transfer 3 but her doc said all that would do is increase her chance of having triplets, not increase her chance of a BFP. She transferred 2 and got a BFP! My next go round, if I do a 3 day transfer I will do 3 (if I have that many), but if I am able to do a 5 day, I wouldn't transfer more than 2. And yes, I would absolutely freeze if I was lucky enough to have some...last time I was a "poor responder".

I believe there was a girl on these MB that transferred 4 and one split!! (that is FIVE total) I am not sure what happend to her, but I believe she had a reduction done. That is a reason I will stick to three at the most. I am so worried about ending up with too many embies. Anyone else feel this way? Throwing the embies away is not an option, so the only other option would be adopting them out, and I would only adopt them out to a couple we knew really well. I am just praying I get a usable number of embies.

Hi Ladies,

Hope we are all well today, under a week to Christmas now woohoo

Mp, sorry for your negative result and that your af has not shown yet, its soo frustrating when that happens especially when you want the witch to come.

We are having 2 embies (hopefully) put back, we are doing a FET and only have 2 frosties so I am praying both survive the defrost. The maximum we could have put back in the UK is 2 anyway (to avoid multi pregnancies and complications) so could not have many more put back even if we wanted to.

If I could have more put back I would consider all the pros and cons as the other ladies have said, and definatly freeze any remaining embies if you can as it is so much easier doing a FET than a fresh cycle.

Wishing us all the luck in the world over the next couple of months

xxx :D

Thank you for all of your replies, it is a gamble and it is a very emotional one! I think my doctor does a 3-4 day transfer (I need to ask!). I am learning so much with you guys! I could opt for 4 and none go, or opt for 3 and have triplets, or all these other scenarios! only God knows what will happen... my doc's statistics are 17% triplets, 35% twins and the rest singletons. No quads yet. I heard some countries don't allow more than 2 to be transfered.

Rio: I know it is a tough decision. And for everyone it is different. I usually just trust my RE..

So girls do you think that hpt could have been wrong? I used the digital test on cd32 and gota BFN. Today is cd 34. Should I try another one or just be patient? The only thing that gave me hope this time is that I had really bad cramping for a few hours around the time of implantation. Since then my lower back has been hurting (lots of pressure), and I am so anxious to start this cycle!

What do y'all think??

MP - in my experience, when AF has been late, it never fails that as soon as I go waste $20 on an HPT, AF shows up. But, I am addicted to peeing on those little things! I bet if your lower back is hurting, AF is right around the corner. That's always been my biggest indicator that its coming. I don't want to be a pooper, and I'm sorry for saying this, but I would bet if it was negative 2 days ago, it probably still is  , but I say if it's going to make you feel better, DO IT! And if you have luck like me, you'll do it, and then AF will show up and you can get your IVF underway. :D

I've got fingers crossed that if you choose to do it, you get that BFP! Good luck!

Hi gals!
I think if all goes well with me, eggs, sperm and the lab - they will implant 3, but I have a couple of friends -same stats as DH & me, and they did 1 time IVF - 2 ETs and had twins! - they suggested that DH and I only let them implant 2 - but I do not want to have things not work out- seems 3 has a better chance of 1 working out - then again, I'm pretty sure that physically I would have a hell of a time carrying 3 to term, and I'm not sure how I'd handle having to make a choice. I don't have to worry about it right at the moment, and that is a relief!
