12 Week Scan

A big hello to all of my cycle buddies and to all the other preggies out there! I had my 12 week scan yesterday and all is great! My baby was just the right size but kept his back to us so we couldn't see any arms. I am assuming there are a couple. I hope baby is more cooperative in six weeks at our 18 week scan so that we can find out the sex. I wouldn't mind not finding out but my family (the grandparents) would have a fit. They are ready to start shopping! I hope everyone is well with happy, healthy pregnancies. Love Val

Val, Hi Ya I have not heared from you in a long time I was getting a bit worried. Glad to hear the scan went well I am having one on Tuesday so will keep you updated, all has been well and the sickness has gone down a lot, but still not really doing proper food, just sweet things.Not good for the waist line.....but hey what the hell. Nikola, you have been very quite as well so hope everything is ok, or you must be getting ready to go on holiday...wish it was me going away again, you get back into the routine of things so quickly after getting back, It's seems forever ago that I was on holiday. Time is going so quickly at last 12 weeks gone, and soon if you think after christmas we can say we are having a baby THIS year. I have had to change my login as we are a new internet provider but wibbs1 is still me.....does that make sence to anyone but me???? Must be late and time for me to go to bed. Take care of all those BUMPS out there and Nite Nite. xxxxxxx

hi val, have been following your progress on SCBs and here. glad to see that 12 week scan went well. you must be well relieved to get into that (safer) second trimester. Know that I will be!! beckym xx

Hi Wibbs and Becky, great to hear from you both! Wibbs, It's great to hear that you are doing so well. I, too, am feeling quite a bit better. I try to eat one proper meal a day but it is so hard to eat all the right portions of all the right foods that the books say to do. I would have to quit work and only focus on eating. I have started cheating with one Coca-Cola a day as soon as I come in to work. It gives me a little jolt and settles my stomach and puts me in a good mood to start the day. I've got you on my calendar for Tuesday, I'll keep checking in until I hear you good news, I'm sure. I miss Nikola, I hope she checks in soon. It's neat that you and I are so close in due dates. It's going to be fun to compare notes. Let's let Nikola go first so that she can give us some pointers and maybe lie to us and tell us how easy and painless it all was! Becky, you will feel so relieved after the 12 week scan. It's an amazing feeling. It's great to be able to let go of some of the worry and get more excited. I'm so ready to start shopping now! Hello Val So pleased that your scan went well. I think your baby will be shy if it had it's back to you! You must be over the moon reaching this stage. I can't wait, I have a week and a half to go and it's really dragging. Good luck Wibbs for your scan. Nikola where are you??? Love Dagny x

Thanks for the luck girls can't wait to see IT. Where's Nikola and Di...do we think they have gone on a massive shooping trip together?????? Dagny when is your scan date? I have been a bit sneeky, a FRIEND of mine has lent me a SONICAID so I have been listening to BB heartbeat so very reasuring when you can find it. It keeps moving around DH has not heard it yet. In the states you can buy them, or rent I think it's a good idea at this stage untill it moves around then you know you have somthing in there. The only problem is if you don't find it do you PANIC......!!!!!! I think so, so maybe I just got lucky hearing it. I'm restricting myself to only once aweek. Take care all check in later i'm hungry. Just a word girls about the Dopplers (sonicaid things). We have hired one, really easy, from Babybeats.com. You pay about £30 per month and you can either send it back when you can feel the baby kicking or keep paying and eventually it becomes yours (they cost about £90). You have to tell yourself not to panic if you cannot find the heartbeat but there are great instructions with it in the pack, and we have always been able to trace the heartbeat easily from about week 12 onwards. This is just my personal opinion - I think it is a FANTASTIC thing, cos you often get niggle doubts and wonder if everything's OK. We just used ours about once per week and just listened for a few seconds - it REALLY is lovely and really puts you at ease. Still use it off and on although at 24 weeks I can feel her kicking regularly now so you know everythings alright but those first weeks are worrying. Really glad we bought it. Hellllooooo Girls!!!! Its so lovely to be missed! I'm glad everyone is progressing nicely. (have you read Jackie's dramas on her post - bloody hell is anything ever easy for that girl? I've not posted her yet, but will do! Jackie if you read this - I'm thinking of you honey.) Val great news about your 12 weeks scan. Mine is on Friday. The hospital have been about crap in organising things, I was supposed to have it two weeks ago, but I guess I'll just have to wait until Friday. I already feel relieved to have reached 12 weeks, but will be even more so once I've checked in on them both and made sure they are happy and growing. I had a bit of a worry cos after a bit of a growth spurt, I don't seem to have grown much in the last week or two. I can't fit into regular clothes and have had to buy maternity stuff, but I've only got a very neat little bump at the front. What are you all like? The only reason I question how big I am is that I was warned that at 12weeks with twins I should be the same size as a singleton at 16weeks and I don't think I'm that big! Dh tells me I look lovely and pregnant but I think he is just trying to reassure me. Bless. I guess the fact I have been sick constantly for the last three months may have something to do with my weight gain! I seem to have the sickness under control. I'm down to being sick only once or twice a week (as opposed to every day!) I found I could only eat things that were beige in colour e.g. bread, potato, banana, yoghurt. This is about it. And to drink, I can still only drink things that are purple in colour e.g. cranberry juice, blackcurrant, ribena etc. I feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel. How are you all feeling? Well we are off on our honeymoon in less than two weeks - can't wait. Can't remember if I told you where we finally decided to go, well we are going to Mauritius for two weeks. Sun, sea, sand and relaxation!! I'm so pleased everyone is doing ok. I do think about you all lots. Wibbs and Dagny good luck with your scans. Becky when is yours?
