HI Everyone.

How is everyone today, well I am just at work still on a Friday and just want to go home but here till 18:00. I only have 3 more weeks at work and baby is due in 9wks and it works out to 61 days left, I can't believe how quick it seems to be going. Saying about belly buttons I thought mine was popping out but then the next minute I look its still stuck in so I don't think mine is going to pop.
Its all so exciting.
Love
Shell
31wks 1d pg
xx
Hi Fiona

I didn't mention 'Buffy' as my brother gets really p!ssed off when people refer to him as buffy, so I have learnt not to mention the name and Xander in the same sentence! There is a great actor called Xander Berkley who is in loads of films.

I will have a look on the Baby world web for names. I love finding out what they all mean.

Love Dagny x

Hello Everyone

I too have been busy at work, so logging on when I can!

I am 21 weeks now, (22 on Tues), and bump is now quite evident, which is lovely, I can't stop touching it!

Have been getting bad backache already, so my acupuncturist has been working his normal magic and curing me, which is bliss!

Belly button is still well and truly in place, with no signs yet of popping out (it is teeny weeny inny one anyway), hope it stays that way!

Have been going swimming or aqua aerobics every day to try and keep relatively fit, but all in all feel fabulous!

Took first `undie' pictures of the bump today, will continue taking them each month now, to go in the baby album, not for general release I don't think!

Hope you and your bumps are keeping well, going off to Mothercare World now for a mooch around, still not buying anything until beyond 30 weeks, window shopping is just as much fun!

D x
Me 34, DH, 37. Married for 11 years, ttc for 6+, failed 4 x fresh IVF tmts. 5th attempt at Lister Hospital gave us Megan on 5 April 2004 with a very straightforward pregnancy and labour. Attempt number 6 to start hopefully September 2007!
Hey girls and bumps, SOOooooooo sorry to have been absent from the site, but this is the first chance I have had for ages to post so here is my update!

Belly button - still in, although it looks different - I heard as well that if it's a boy it stays in though!

We still like the name Jay for a boy, poss with William as a middle name, but I haven'r decided yet - we're still calling him Bob (Baby ON Board) so it will be incredibly difficult to call him Jay!! Perhaps Jay Bob!! or perhaps not!

I've discovered that I have a potentially serious complication - a low-lying placenta, and Bob is lying transverse on top of it. So the hospital have said that this is quite serious as the placenta could bleed/rupture, and that now I'm at 30 weeks on Saturday, it's unlikely to move as my lazy baby is lying on it! So I have another scan booked in 4 weeks and if it's not moved then I'll be admitted to hospital around 2 Jan for 3 weeks, put on steroids to help Bob's lungs develop and they'll do a section at 37 weeks.

This of course has thrown me into a huge panic as I had not bought a thing, so we went to Mothercare World on Saturday and spent a horrific amount of money (we took out a Mothercare card each as you get 10% discount on the first - and in our case - expensive transaction!

I have also kept seeing my chiropracter and she is working wonders on my back, so all in all I feel ok. I get a bit of backache when standing for too long (30 mins!) but apart from that and a weak bladder am feeling ok.

I really can't believe I'm nearly 30 weeks and that in 7/8 weeks I'll be a mum! It seems like last week when I got the postive pregnancy result and I can't believe how close I feel to little Bob - I thnk I'll quite miss having him inside! Although this might all change when I get bigger and bigger!!! And if I'm in the hospital for 3 weeks I might be totally ready for his arrival!!!!

Hope everyone is well - Shell - how are you doing???

lots of love, Sally xxxx

Hi Sally,

I have been wondering where you have got to, to be honest and when I don't see any posts from you I start to get concerned incase something is wrong. To be honest Sally Jay is a lovely name for a boy, but to be honest Lee & I can't decide on anything we both like together. I like Aiden for a boy but Lee doesn't like it and then for a girl we both like Shakena but I am sure that will change as well because people keep saying it is weird so Lee said about Sophie Jayne which is nice.

Sally I hope all continues to go well, the thing is you never know with your placenta though it could still move but least they are keeping an eye on you.

I know exactly what you mean about feeling close to your baby and I am exactly like you. I am counting down the days to when I will have my baby in my arms and as each day passes I think its a day nearer to holding my precious one.

What did you buy from Mothercare?

I have a scan in a couple of weeks Sally because my Baby is measuring more then it should be so they are keeping a close eye on me. They said I may need to have a c section but I won't know this until I go on the 5th Dec and it depends if the baby as grown much.

Do you feel your baby stick out your tummy? I do inwhich its lovely but also weird.

Hope to hear from you soon.
Love
Shell.
31wks 5d pg
xx
Hi Shell,
Sorry to have worried you, I'm trying to get ready for maternity leave (starts in 4 weeks!!!) so am training up my replacement, so it's everso hectic!

I love Shakena and also Sophie Jayne - I think there are much nicer names for girls around than for boys, but it's such a difficult decision. We went through 2 books of 1000 names each and could only agree on 1 name!

The baby is moving quite a lot - especially when I lie down but it feels more inside - it doesn't really stick things out that much - I suppose because he's lying on his back at the bottom of my uterus rather than being in the correct position he might have more room at the top!!

I feel fine that the hosp are taking such good care of us problem cases and I'm used to the idea that Jay will arrive early - mid Jan - in one way I can't wait to meet him but in another I'll miss having him so close inside me, totally protected.

Perhaps when you have your scan your baby has slowed down - perhaps it was just a big growth spurt and he or she is taking it a bit easier now!!

We bought what felt like the whole store at Mothercare - cot, dresser, mobile, bath, bedding, rocking/gliding chair (for me!), pram/travel system thing, and a gorgeous Pooh sleep suit! - the car was chock full and our bank balance the worse for wear!! I'm trying to find a nice fleecy blanket to wrap round us for cold night-time feeds. I'm having the nursery decorated in the next couple of weeks.

I read that when they measure you, a normal measurement is about 1 cm for each week of your pregnancy, so if you get a tape measure and measure from your bikini line to top of uterus you might get an idea of whether things have slowed down at all!

Hope you're feeling OK,
Love to all mums and bumps
Sally xxxx
