I'm sure that all clinics are different, but we had three options to choose from if we have left over embryos....1. Let them naturally thaw (if you have frozen) 2. donate them to research or 3. donate them to another infertile couple. Im sure that most places are along the same lines...but I guess it depends if you plan to freeze you extra embryos after retrieval.

DS 7/23/14 IUI after Celiac diagnosis
We were also offered the 3 options - discard, research, freeze. If you decide to freeze them for future use, they charge you a early fee to keep the embryos in the lab, and I guess it goes up each year you keep it there. They told us that they don't recommend keeping it for more than 5ys, but if you're young enough that the doctor might okay it.
