Single Emb Transfer thru ICSI

Post by gori »

We transferred a single embryo through ICSI [no assisted hatching] and my HCG is at 1,250 on 14 dayspast3daytransfer. This is high. At 12dp3transfer, it was 675. Did anyone, who had a single embryo transfer through ICSI, ended up having twins? If yes, was it identical or fraternal twins? Also, does my HCG level indicate very high chances of twins?

Congrats on joining the pregnancy ranks. Like you, I only had one embryo transfered and we had one baby. As for the numbers, they vary from person to person. Just enjoy the ride, if you are blessed with twins, enjoy it and if not, enjoy your angel too!

Thanks cmoscar - I am certainly excited about my pregnancy!! Just a bit nervous due to the risks asscoiacted with identical twins in one sac. If my embryo did split, I will probably have identical twins. Anyway, looking forward to my U/S on Jan 8. Congrats to you. Your baby is adorable!!

the numbers are just that... i know at this point it's hard to not look at them too hard... some times an embie impants quicker, hence a higher number... i know that the wait is killer... but try to enjoy, and do not worry yet about twins... just hope for the best!!!

Gori - my numbers were super high with my daughter as well...and she is a real ball of energy. she hasn't stopped moving from day one..even inside my uterus she was a mover and shaker...I still have internal bruising from her kicks. Anyway enjoy...you have a very healthy baby!

Hi

Hi Traci, Crasmus, were you ever told of a high risk of Down syndrome? Looks like our worries do not end. I have posted a thread on that just now. I am thinking may be high HCGs are tied to getting a false +ve on Down syndrome. Any advise would be great! Thanks again!!!
