What you think?

Post by markd »

Hello,

My wife had her transfer on 12/17...
We were told to come back on 12/31 for blood test. We are doing the shots.
Well, my wife couldnt wait and tested today, 12/26..9 days after transfer and its very strong positive. Could this still be the ovaltine or whatever that shot you take that raises your level.

Trying to keep her from getting overly excited, but its hard...
Let me know if anyone has experienced anything like ours?.

thanks in advance

Hi Mark,

When did your wife take her trigger HCG shot? And what was the amount she took?

The norm is to wait up to 14 days after trigger to make sure all traces of the drug is out of your system before testing, however if she is getting a very strong line on the hpt, that's a positive sign as the hcg should have started diluting by now. Was the hpt test a 25miu one? That also makes a difference as it can pick up even lower amounts of hcg than the advertised amount. For instance the "unofficial" hcg detection for FIRST RESPONSE tests is 6.5 - but that would only result in the faintest of lines.

Once you know when the hcg shot was given and the quantity your wife was administered, you should get a better idea of where you stand.

If you go to www.peeonastick.com, there is a FAQ section which tells you how long to wait for HCG to be out of your system before reliably using a HPT.

Good luck and I hope you get that BFP!

Thanks for the reply Dexter...

Her trigger shot was 12/11 ..making today day 16. So if i go by your estimates, we should be looking pretty good. We moved our blood test date up from monday to this friday. Im not sure what level tester we used.

Thanks so much for taking time to give me your 2 cents. I guess all we can do now is wait till friday, its out of our hands...

thanks again, and ill keep ya posted..

Markd - I have to agree! It all sounds positive to me! I started testing 12 days after my trigger shot and got positives every day. I ended up going in a day early also for my blood test and I was still testing positive 14 and 15 days after my trigger shot. Anyway, first Beta was 329 at 12dp3dt and I am now 6 weeks pregnant. Sounds like you will be getting some great news very soon! Good luck! :D

Hello

Just wanted to update ya guys, we just got the call from the doctors, we are officially 4 weeks pregnant....Yippee...

Our number was 350, and we are 12 days post transfer. The nurse sounded like it was a pretty high and good number. Anyone with number knowledge have an opinion on that?

Thanks and good luck to all who are trying to achieve the goal of baby having....:)

Congratulations Mark, and to your wife as well!

That is a very strong number! How many embies did you transfer? I transferred two..first beta 9 days past a 3 day transfer was only 52, and I am now 18 weeks pregnant with two little girls!!! Anything can happen with numbers (as you can see) but yours is very strong.!

What a nice Christmas/New Years present!!!

Good Luck!

Hi Mark!

Just dropping in to say CONGRATULATIONS - officially :-)

Well done to you and DW.

Those numbers sound like 2 may have taken!!! As the girls on here say though, it's often hard to go by the numbers but I'd say it's a fairly good indication, being that high!

My first beta at 10 days past 5 day transfer was 250 and we're having twins. My 2nd number a week later was 6000 and then a week later 42000. I'm now in the high 200 thousands and sufferin

Make sure your DW takes it easy over the next few weeks and good luck for your first scan.

Congrats again,

Dexter

Thanks for all the kind words...Still hasnt sunk in yet. Im 38 and my wife is 36...After that many years of...negativity, its gonna take a lil screaming from a baby to make it real. :)

Congrats to everyone who is on there way and good luck to those trying..ill let ya know what blood work at 5 weeks is, and then the ultra sound at 6 weeks....exciting stuff, to say the least....
