Hey Girls!

Mel- sooooo glad to hear from you!! Welcome back, we missed you!

Fee- sorry Nogs is sick, pulling snot, even out of a cute little nose, does not sound like a good time! Sorry to hear about FIL and dog, hope everything is ok. Those dogs are our children, I know it is hard to lose them.

MP- so glad you have a Beautiful Uterus. That is very important! I agree getting poked and prodded all the time sucks. The men don't have to do much. BUT, I think if Dh had to show his man parts all the time like I had to show my delicates, we probably wouldn't have gotten this far in the process! He would have said No Way!

Angie- you inspired me. I walked this morning...and then had to take a 3 hour nap. This cookin a baby stuff is tiring!

Well gotta go clean out the fridge. We are having a new one delivered tomorrow. I know... my life is WAY too exciting!

Later!
Jenn

Hello and Happy New Year to one and all!!! Hope all the sistas are doing well! Tomorrow is my 7 week u/s and I must admit that I am getting a little nervous!!! We should be able to see the heartbeat tomorrow and I believe seeing that will certainly give me a sense of relief!

Fee - Hey girl - so sorry about your dog. I have 3 dogs myself. Yes, genius me used to go to the pound during lunch as it was close to my office. Needless to say, I was bringing home a dog a week until my husband banned me from going again. And I have big dogs - Springer Spaniel, Dalmatian, and a Blue Heeler - Duke, Dale, and Dixie. Combine that with a cat named Ms. Kitty and a Beta fish named Winston Churchill, we already have quite a few things to take care of without the baby entering the picture. Anyway, those dogs are my babies right now and they are all about 8 years old. The thought of something happening to them is devastating to me!!! It is amazing how animals can play such an important part of your life. I feel for you right now. I know it is hard.

Jenn - Congrats on the new fridge. Personally for me, it is the little things in life that bring me such pleasure. Now, you can stock it with all kinds of fun, fattening things to chow down on in your last month of being preggo!! :)

MP - Congrats on getting started on your IVF cycle in the New Year!!! May 2008 be YOUR year!! Congrats on having a "beautiful" uterus. Doctors can be so strange with their choice of words. I mean, what makes up a beautiful uterus? I may need to check into this one. Perhaps mine is "gorgeous" or "lovely" or even "glamorous" and I just don't know it. Hmmmm...things to ponder. :)

Mel - I suppose I should introduce myself as a sista who joined while you must have been on hiatus. Now, as any good sista would, I chcked out your web site. Very cool!!!! :D

Meg - where for art thou??? Still enjoying the holidays??? How is Lucy?? :D

Angie - how is the wombat these days? Guess you have to go back to work tomorrow, huh? I went back on Monday and it sucked. All was going along nicely and then BAM - I got hit with a major issue that now our legal dept is involved in and for grins tonight I have to sit and try to type up a timeline of what transpired related to this case over the last 5 months. Oh - what fun!

Amy - your FET is coming up pretty soon!! I will be thinking positive thoughts for you!! How many are you going to transfer??

Sassy - I suppose now you are also joining in on the fun now and will be alongside Amy and MP for the month of Jan!! What date are you looking for in regards to your FET? Congrats on losing the muffin top. I appeared to have gained one and I don't know how. I am just one, large bloated mess. I just don't get it. This friend of mine last night said, "Wow, Tina. You are really starting to show". I just looked at her like "Eat Sh-t" and she still didn't get it. So, she proceeds to say it again in front of a group of friends as we are celebrating New Year's Eve and then says something to the effect of "well, that is normal - I mean, you are like 12 weeks now, right"? 12 weeks???? No, you b-itch. I am like 7 weeks!!!! I proceed to tell her just that and just kind of stare at her in disbelief. Now, you might say, "Well, poor thing. She doesn't know any better. Has she ever been pregnant before?" Well, allow me to answer. SHE DOES KNOW BETTER - SHE IS CURRENTLY 12 WEEKS PREGNANT HERSELF!!!! And she knows damn well I am several weeks behind her (5 to be exact!!!). Anyway, my poor husband heard the whole conversation and just looks at me like, "Oh God - I am sorry". He could just see my little face wilt like a child that went down to Christmas morning and saw no presents under the tree. Anyway, I can't figure it out. I don't know if it is the progesterone shots or what, but the bloating seems excessive.   Ah - and I just thought of my comeback for my friend next time I see her. I am going to look at her and say, "Girl - are you sure there ain't more than one in there??? You are HUGE!!!". Yep, I feel better already. :D

Ok, Happy New Year to all the sistas and for those hoping for their BFP's this year - GOOD LUCK and we will be rooting for you!!

Happy new year one and all sistas. Hope all your dreams come true in 2008.

Tina - I am wishing you lots of luck for scan tomorrow - you have been very patient and it's finally here. Hope you manage to scam lots more scams in the following weeks. I have to wait another 5 weeks for my next one and 3 weeks to the dr visit. Talk about being left in limbo - us IVF ladies are used to (and deserve) better!!

Hope everyone is doing OK - I have to dash. It's DH's birthday tomorrow - poor thing - it always gets merged with Christmas and New Year and the thought of more shopping is not appealing to me. But I am going to buy him some shorts ( he has covered his others with paint!) and may be a little treat for me too  - we are going camping down the beach at the w/e and my bathers are looking very shabby. (what am I thinking ?- a new bikini at this time - I must be mad!)

Quick post to let you all know that we had a wonderful appt this morning! The baby is measuring right at 7 weeks and had a heartbeat of 124!!! We were thrilled. I cried. Then I laughed. Then I just stared. It was pretty amazing. I just feel so blessed. My husband just seemed in awe. It was pretty cool! :D

Thanks for all your warm wishes. The next hurdle is cleared. We go back on Jan 11th for our next appt...a little early because I have to make a East Coast trip next week for work.

Hey ladies.... Happy New Year!!!!

BTW... I just looked... it has been nearly a year we have had this thread (and longer we have been posting together if you consider that other non-related thread we hijacked initially  . How time flies when you are having ART... ummmm... I mean fun!

Fee: Girrrrl. When it rains, it pours. How is FIL? And your dog? Is he/she going to pull through???? Wow. All that AND Nogs still on some african timezone.

Angie: I just looked at your signature... 14 WEEKS! Wow. They are really stringing you out down there on the scans. Don't they know how dangerous it is to hold out on a sista??? Have a fab weekend at the beach.

MP: If I remember right, you start injections next week? Enjoy all those brownies... like I tell my dh... follicles LOVE chocolate  Good luck!!!

Jenn: Thanks for the nursery description... I have much to work with there. I'm hoping to get some virtual shopping done while playing (ahem... I mean WORKING) today

Mel: Glad to hear the weddings "keep on comin'". I added your blog to my feeds... the better to keep track of you  . I was VERY impressed with your party food--- ya'll put me to shame!

Mego: oh, Mego... echo, echo. Hope you and Lucy are well.

TinaO: How did the US go today??? huh? huh?

Amy: How's the lupron treating you? Only two weeks to transfer! Did you get things with work arranged?

I woke up this am all the sudden excited about my thaw cycle. Go figure. The embryos aren't even being thawed until Feb 3rd, but I have butterflies! Still working out like a banshee, although you wouldn't know it by looking at the scale  .

May 2008 bring you all more of what is good in your lives.

TinaO: What a jerk your friend is if I do say so myself. But I am sure you will cherish this pregnancy in ways she will never since you had to go through so much to get your bloated 7 week state!

Sassy: good job keeping up on working out. I think my muffin top disappeared - actually when I am PMSing - I think my mirror turns into one of those carnival mirrors that makes you feel as wide as you are tall! I actually weighed myself this morning and I managed to lose 1 pound over Christmas! I am at 147, and I am 5'10" not too bad

Mel: I agree with Sassy your party put mine to shame! I love it - I wish you were planning my wedding 10 years ago! SOunds like such a fun/stressful job!

Well the meds arrived this morning; I start injections on 1/7!! I am excited. Dh had a dream last night that he was giving me a shot in the butt and then was massaging it  :D So excited!

Hope everyone has fabulous first week of 2008!!

Hi all! Sorry I've been so neglectful--holidays were a bit crazy for us. Unfortunately, I have no time to sit down and read everything right now but just wanted to check in and say that we're doing good. Lucy is 4 months old tomorrow (can't frickin' believe it!) and is changing everyday. She's grabbing onto things now and just laughs all the time. It's great.

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! What was everyone's favorite present?

Hey Meg- good to hear from you. Glad things are going well. Wow, 4 months! Time flies. I want my baby to be here but at the same time I know when she gets here I will want time to stop! My favorite gift was my fridge!! And I really enjoyed the time with my family. We won't be going home for several months now and I am sad about that.

Better go- the dog is staring at me like I am supposed to be doing something with her! Take care and check in again when you aren't too busy!

Hello ladies, hope we are all well.

Jenn - I am getting excited about another sista baby coming into the world now. How are you feeling?

Also looking forward to some more BFP action with all the new cycles approaching.

And Sassy - here's to the year of the sista thread - how much entertainment has it given us over the last 12 months? It's been fab- here's to lots more funny stories ahead.

Nothing funny from me today though - just same old . Feeling fat - can't do up my pants - I am off to check out the maternity wear shop - it's close to work. Quite exciting - although looking online, everything looks very polyesterish and spandex - not good in the Melbourne summer.

Had a great w/e down at the beach - did a 1.5 hour walk though the bush - lots of up and down hills but it felt great to have some energy again. We also saw a koala climbing up a tree - it was SOOO cute - and it kept turning towards us so we could take its photo - what a poser. (No wombats though).

So second trimester treating me well so far - however I am still crazy anxious - either because I feel too well so think I can't be preggers anymore or because I feel some mild cramps and think something is wrong. Still a crazy sista ! 2.5 weeks until OB appmt and then beginning of Feb for next scan - an eternity away!

Hi to you all.

Hey girls...

MP: Good luck on your cycle starting today! I don't remember which protocol you are using...

Mego: Glad to hear our Lucy is doing well. Hmmm. My favorite pressie was a fancy digital SLR camera. I am so excited! It takes much better pictures than my old camera.

Jenn: not long now... are you are prepared? Are you excited or scared or both?

Angie: glad to hear you have more energy as of late. Rumor is that the 2nd trimester is the most comfortable. Your w/e sounds fabulous. Next US a month away... that does sounds like forever

Amy: where art thou? I imagine you are starting stims about now...

dh and I are will his family in Telluride, Colorado skiing for the week. We got here last night and are staying at an elevation of 9750 ft (that is 2900+ meters for the rest of the world  ). We got tons of snow yesterday and it will be snowing on and off all week. Fab! Bummer is that it isn't very easy to breathe here yet for me, and the altitude headache has kicked in. Oh well, at least I have the slopes to take my mind off it...

Original plan was that we would have 10 people (including 4 kids) in a fairly small 4 bedroom condo. Sounded doable. But then my SIL who just had a baby 5 weeks ago changed her mind and decided she wanted to come and bring her family. 15 inlaws in a 4 bedroom condo with 7 kids including a newborn. Just shoot me now. For various reasons BESIDES the newborn... that was not going to be good for Sassy's psyche (especially since I start shooting up lupron this week!). Dh agreed whole heartedly... so we were lucky enough to find a nice hotel room essentially across the street with a fabulous spa that I intend to patronize later this week.... That's what I'm talking about!

Hope you are all well!

Sassy: I am soooo jealous. I was planning on going to Colorado for Dh and my 10 year anniversary next month, but that will throw me right into the 2ww, and I won't be able to go skiing once I get my bfp  . I haven't seen snow in like 8 years!! We still might go to CO and just get a li' cabin  Glad you were able to find a hotel, yikes!

I start my injections (Lupron) tonight. In 7 days I will stop the bcp and wait for AF then go in for baseline, bw and then I will add gonal-f to the Lurpon. Very excited and feeling very positive!!

Mel- what are you doing in my neck of the woods? Where in Houston are you?

MP- good luck with your injections! Are you excited to start?

Sassy- I want to be someplace cold right now, b/c it is HOT here! I have always wanted to try skiing. Hope you are having a blast!

Having a cold and being pregnant really sucks! I can't take much to relieve the sore throat and congestion.

Had my last baby shower this weekend. Now we have a few things to buy and we are done. Baby Boot camp is in 2 weeks. Then we will know everything there is to know about a baby right?

I am starting to get scared. I am not sure how she is going to get out of me. It seems impossible...and VERY painful.

Going to take a nap. Can't breathe. Hope I don't suffocate.
Jenn
