TammyS- Welcome! I just wanted to say that the my protocol was follistim and menipur, then I added ganerelix and then an hcg shot of ovidrel. It sounds like yours might be the same. I had never even heard of lupron before coming to this message board. It is confusing to me too, because as I read all the posts and watch various tv shows on discovery health, all I hear about is lupron, but I just wanted to say, no worries. It worked for me and hopefully it will work for you too. I noticed a lot of the ladies taking lupron talk a lot about having to do it at the same time everynight. i did not have to do that with mine, which was lucky, since it is hard to pinpoint a time for my and dh everynight. Good luck with everything and keep us updated.

Washingtonda- good luck tomorrow, we are all hoping those estrogen levels go up for you!

Schel- we may have ultrasound the same day. It depends on my numbers on Wednesday morning. Of course, you will see more in your u/s because I think you are one week ahead of me. I am 5 weeks today.

Again Happy New Year and Happy Stimming to all! Be safe tonight!

hi friends!

TammyS: WELCOME! :D I know, this is a process of waiting, and the anxiety is a killer  Even though many people have similar protocols, not everyone has the same one, so if I were you I would relax a little. It sounds as if you were doing the right thing. Even if they put you on Lupron, you may still have time to do so. I didn't start Lupron until my last week of BCP. And as Michelle said, you may not even have to use Lupron at all.

The good thing about IVF is that it will help you get pregnant whether you have the issue or dh has the issue. In my case, it's me. My tubes are not blocked, but they are not functioning the way they should. I was pregnant once (naturally) but ended up in miscarriage (most likely a chromosomes issue). Now we are doing IVF to bypass my tubes.

I get anxious too, but what helps me be patient is the thought that once the baby(s) is here, it will be here to stay!!! so I think, what's one more moth? he/she/they will be here with me for the rest of my life! I'm 30, and still very attached to my mom

Anyway, this forum is awesome. Ask, ask, ask, the ladies here tend to have a lot of first hand experience/knowledge. Best wishes to you hun. Keep us posted.

WashigntonDA: BEST WISHES TO YOU sweety! keep us posted. Today will be my fourth day stimming and I don't feel much either. Maybe a bit bloated, but nothing that I can clearly pinpoint.

Schel and Michelle

Hello Ladies,

I had my first u/s after 5 days of stimming and did not get the best news. My lining is on the thin side and she was not able to measure anything. I am pretty bummed. I am a historical poor responder and this was a different protocol without lupron for me. My RE said all is not lost and I am going back in on Wed for another u/s... please pray that they will grow!!!!

Happy new year to everyone!

xoxo

Hi Everyone,

Chriss and Dexter - Oh, you ladies are so sweet to remember me. Thanks for all the words of encouragement. August and September was a rough cycle for all of us. Chriss hoping we both get our BFP for 2008. Dexter, well you know I am too excited for you, how are you feeling?

Tali - I know exactly how you feel, unfortunately. But please don't give up hope. Things can certainly turn around for you.

Schel & Michele - can't wait for the u/s report.

washingtonda - thinking of you

WELCOME TO ALL THE NEWBIES

Ladies, I don't know how I feel this morning. My first beta was 179 and the second beta was 325. It did not double and I feel so heartbroken already. The nurse said that it is still a good number but all we hear is that it has to double. I go back on 01/02/08...trying not to cry because I really thought this was my time. Still praying that it is. This is a hard road.

Baby dust and happy to stimming for everyone.

Keisha--hun, please don't loose hope. I actually read that it should be at least 60% increase, it doesn't necessarily have to double, so please PMA!!!!

I found this in another forum. A doctor was replying to a person with a similar situation to yours:

"Yes, I have heard of these levels being successful. It is a misconception that the levels have to 'double'. Increases of 1.6-1.7 every two days are acceptable, and there have even been successful pregnancies when HCG levels only increase by 50% every two days! Along a 1.67X curve, we would have expected a beta of 690 on June 29 (pretty close to 718), and around 1900 four days after that. While your level of 1600 is a bit lower than that, many reasons could account; for example you may have had an initial implantation of more than one embryo, and one of the original implanters has stopped developing but the other(s) are still doing fine."

Hang on!

esperanza - You are such a sweetheart. I'm at work crying as I type. Thank you so much for doing that research. It is so easy to get programmed on this IVF thing. Now, I'm picking myself off the floor :P !!

Keisha - Hang in there hun. I am praying for you. I feel good about your numbers. I think as long as they continue to rise and not decrease than you are still in pretty good shape.

Well I went back to the Docs this morning so I should get a call today by 4:00pm letting me know how things are going. I'm praying my estrogen levels rise. The nurse didn't seem to worry. The lady that did my US said that my follicles have grown since my visit two days ago. She didn't say how much but did advise that they would start to measure them when I go back on Wednesday.

They have not yet ruled out my ER for this weekend so I'll stay hopeful as well. I still have not many symptoms from the meds. I do have a slight headache today which is sorta unusual for me so I pray this stuff is working.

Quick question: We are going to Dinner and the movies tonight. We usually administer shots around 8:30. Tonight we may not be home until 11:00 is this too late. I know they said to try to administer the shots at the same time. Will we bo okay or should we carry the meds along. If we took them than we probably still can't administer them until 10:00. Any suggestions.

CT_Michelle,
Are you going as nuts as I am wanting Friday to be here already? I am already in my 6th week and only have to wait so long so my DH can be there and see the heart beats too.

UPDATE
First experience with morning sickness yesterday, also had diarrhea. Well, I'm not actually convinced it's morning sickness. Maybe I just picked up a bug?

Washingtonda,
As a nurse I say, you can give your shot within one hour prior or after to normally scheduled time. So if you give your shot at 8:30 pm you can give it as early as 7:30 and as late as 9:30 but you shouldn't deviate more than an hour or it will throw off your levels. Do you think you can give it before you go?

Keisha- Just so you know, my dr said that they always say they want it to double, but they are actually looking for a 60% increase just like esperanza said, so it sounds like your numbers are completely normal. I am trying not to stress about numbers anymore. My dh thinks I am hormonally low, which is why my numbers were low to start, but I really feel like this is going to work and in 9 months we will have a baby!

Schel- I am trying not to think about it too much, but yeah, I am going a little nutty. I just want to know everything is ok, like the position of the embryo and of course a heartbeat. And I bet it was morning sickness, everything I have read says around 6 weeks, which is why I am not looking forward to next week! My mom was really sick when she had me, so I am kinda expecting to be the same.

Tali- we are all praying for you, keep that pma...even though we know it is hard.

Washingtonda- We are still praying, let us know when you get your results.

Esperanza- I love the u/s image...where do you find all of these things?!?

To everyone else, again, Happy New Year and wishing for BFP's in 2008!

Everybody thanks for the prayers. They worked. I just got my call and my Estrogen level was up to 144. I was so releaved. They kept my med dose the same so we'll see what happens on my visit Wednesday. I have had headaches all day today. Took tylenol and nothing seems to help. Im thinking this is the meds because I usually don't get headaches.

Schel- Thanks for the nursly advise on my meds for tonight. I did ask my nurse when she called and she asked what time I was leaving to see if I could do the injections early but we plan to leave home at 4:30. She than said it was okay to do it when I got home at 11:00 but she wasn't very confident with that. I think I'm gonna take the meds with us and administer them in the car right before the movie start. I'll send my fiance in to get us our seats and I'll administer the shots in the car. If something goes wrong in the car we'll be missing the movies to go home (smile). So much for our New Years night out.

It has taken us so long to get this far I won't let one night mess us up.

Who tests next?

Good luck to all my new mommies and to all the newbies and all my fellow stimmers!!! Happy Mommyhood for all of us in 2008. My New Years Resolution is to become pregnant in 2008!!! No matter what it takes.

We are doing Shared risk so we get 6 natural cycles plus our FETs are all free tries so I'm hopeful for a baby during one of these tries. I am in this for the long haul so I'm just gonna hold on and hang in.

You girls are great!!! Love ya!!!!

WashingtonDA: You're probably out already, but let me tell you, I have carried my meds with me every time I've known I'd be out by 9PM (that's when I do my shots). I've given myself the shots at a restaurant's bathroom, and at two different movie theaters (bathrooms as well) :D Tonight I'll be doing it at a friend's house.

I just get out of the film (I don't care at all to miss 10 minutes of the movie!!) and go to the bathroom to do my thing  I only pray that no one walks on me; I don't want them to think that I am a junkie, hehhehee. Last night we went to see "American Gangster" and every time there was a scene of a heroine addict getting high, I would look at my watch to see if it was 9 yet

Michelle: I know, I love that image too! I'm glad you liked it as well. I got it from photobucket.com just type anything you want on the search bar, and voila!

I'll have a drink tonight for all of my ladies on this thread!

Ok ladies,
How bout we share our strangest place we had to give ourselves or get a shot from our partner.

So far my 2 strangest places are 1.)the airport bathroom ( people probably thought I was a junkie but I didn't care (lol) and 2.) the back seat of the car on a 2 hour road trip (hubby pulled into a rest stop and we both got in the back seat). It was at night and we had to turn on the car interior light to see and there were many people at this rest stop.

On another note, I went to see a movie this afternoon and had to leave twice during the movie to pee LOL. I think that was my last movie for this pregnancy 8)
