Holy cow! I've been away for a few days and can't believe how many new people we have. I think I'm caught up...but wouldn't be without your great list Rio, so thank you!

Unfortunately, my dates are going to change. AF STILL has not shown up. I'm at CD35 and still no sign of her. I went to the clinic on Saturday and they did a beta test....it was negative. :( Then I came home and injected 2cc's of progesterone, which should induce it. But, it could still take up to 2 weeks. I might call my acupuncturist to see if there's something she can do. I've heard their voo-doo stuff can work to make AF show up. Anyway, hopefully I won't miss a start date of 1/21...since 1/14 is no longer an option.

Gotta run now...welcome to all our new friends! And Happy New Year!

Oh - Amy from LA...what clinic are you using? I'm in OC but am going to PRC in Torrance.

Cornybaby- did your RE put you on BCP? Or were you just going to start after your natural period? I think my RE puts us all in the same cycle with bcps and does all transfers at same period. Hope AF shows up soon for you!

Howdy Doreen
I'm at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
I went with UMM as that's where my Gyno is, and, well, I didn't really think there was a need to switch, though who knew that getting a BFP was a science  - I used to joke that we should just get drunk and screw in the back of a station wagon and we'd be all set!

http://www.umm.edu/womenscenter/div_endo.htm

My friends went to Greater Baltimore Medical Center (A Shady Grove annex) and Got a BFP with twins (now 10 mos old) on their 1st IVF go -They had about the same profile as me and DH (though they are a year or 2 older)
you can also check out stats for fertility centers at this web site

I'm also doing acupuncture!

take care! and see you next year!

Thanks Rio. I like adding the city/state to each member - Thanks!

Cornybaby: Sorry that AF hasn't come. I wonder why your RE doesn't automatically Rx you bcp. I hope you start the year off with  AF  !

I managed to order my meds yesterday (in 2007) and it was only $1461.60!! I know I will probably need refills - but I was expecting 2000$ right at the start. Now I need to collect all my medical receipts for this year. My sis said you can write off anything over 7% of your income. I hope we get back a good amount. The only problem is sis doesn't know we are doing IVF - and she is the one who does my taxes, but I think by the time I get her everything I will have a BFP!

Mia - The IRS lets you deduct medical costs as long as they are more than 7.5 percent of your adjusted gross income. Don't forget to add the miles to go back and forth to doctors, eyeglasses, contacts, dental expenses for you and DH even if you helped pay medical bills for your parents. We are on the same boat and hopefully Uncle Sam will help pay for our miracle! Good luck!

Hi Everyone HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Welcome KatieG, TammyS, Amy 27, and Higgins! Glad your here with us! I think a couple of you are a day or two different than my cycle! I am starting my Lupron shots tomorrow, 1/3 and hope AF arrives on 1/8! We find ourselves hoping for the strangest things during IVF, don't we!!

Hi Rio: My test date is actually 2/9, for the list! Thank you so much for putting that all together, it really helps and is great to have!!

Loopie: So glad you got that off your chest! DH's sometimes they are just oblivious! After my DHs first SA, he got the results that there was no MFI, and shouted "YES, its not me", I was horrified for a moment and then just thought I guess I would feel the same way! I know he loves me, and he does his best to be as sensitive and caring as possible, so when he makes a mistake I just try to take it all in stride! I am far from perfect! I just remind myself that sometimes it is about him! If there wasn't a chance for him to disappointed, it would mean he didn't care!!

Lots of Baby Dust to all!! It is a new year, full of opportunities and good things to come!! If you don't succeed...try & try again! It will all be worth it!!

OK, sorry for confusing you again. By meds starting on 1/22 I meant Lupron. I don't stim until 2/1, which will put ER at about 2/11 and ET 2/14.

For concerns about the progesterone shots - ice your butt for about 15 minutes prior. Makes the shot itself a piece of cake. I'm not sure how much you can do for the soreness that comes after though - I just got used to it.

For the Progesterine shots I iced for 15-20 minutes before, and then used heat for at least 30 minutes after, and stretched and massaged that muscle and it helped a lot with the soreness. Also if I got on my elliptical or treadmil for about 10 minutes or so that helped too. It didn't completely disappear but it helped. :D

Thanks Rio:I forgot about contacts! I wish I kept receipts for all the OTC meds throughout the year :( Those I can't get back. But I will go to my doctors and get them to give me an itemized list. Ihad lots of PT and bills for my back this year (2 herniated discs) --> I am a bit scraed about multiples with my back  But I am sure God will protect me.

Hopin: I had to laugh at what your dh said. I know you were not laughin when he said that, but I could so see my dh saying that. Dh has always been very good at reminding me that he did not marry me for my baby production capabilities, but I could see him doing a victory dance if he heard that he was 100% without problems!!

Kerpupples and Hopin: I heard that you shouldn't ice before PIO b/c it makes your muscles stiffen - and since it is so thick it doesn't go in as easily? Have you tried it without? Last cycle I just did the vaginal suppositories - so the PIO is new to me.

I got my meds this morning. My parents are in town and my dad answered the door. When I came downstairs he said I think they are flowers (b/c the box said refridgerate) I thought that was funny. I said no they are meds. He didn't ask a question (thankfully since we are trying to keep this cycle to ourselves). I unpacked the box put the gonal-f in the fridge and then waited for them to leave. Then I emptied the box to make sure everything was in there. I wasn't as overwhelmed as I thought I was going to be. Last IVF overseas I didn't have the insulin syringes so I had to use the BIG IM needles and just insert them half way to do the subQ, so I figure this will be a cinch compared to that nightmare! We are going out of town this weekend. Probably the last time till I get my BFP :) The RE wants us to stay in town so we can do u/s and I really don't want to lug my shots around with me.

Ok I better get back to cleaning - I took down all my Christmas decorations and my house is dusty!

Stay positive everyone and thanks for all your support.

Hi Waiting,

It is hilarious to me now! I am glad you could get a laugh out of it, I hope everyone can!!! :)

As for icing, it increases blood flow so the meds are actually absorbed faster. Icing reduces inflamation and enduces faster healing. I double checked with my RE to be sure and she said it is a good idea to ice first and recommends it. But many offices are different, you might check with your RE to be sure to do things they way they do them!

BABY DUST FOR ALL!!! :D
